  I've never even seen one in this neighborhood before...They're usually out in the country or in vacant lots, etc. Based on size I'm thinking it's a prairie dog, as ground squirrels are smaller. Anyway he looked out my sliding door window then looked up at me and I opened the door for him, but he took off behind my couch and went back out my open garage...

  FWIW, Afterwards he was out on my lawn...So I grabbed my camera, but by then he was in the neighbor's yard. I took one picture, but I couldn't really see what I was doing because of the direct sunlight. He's in the pic kind of under a shrub...Rather hard to see...
