  1. After a guy tried to run out the clock on me,  eBay CLOSED one of my Requests rather than getting me a refund,  and my first thought was to go ballistic, but a cooler head prevailed.  They do make it hard though;   Phone numbers don't really work, unless you like a menu telling you to go back and read their help pages, and NOBODY does.   Acting Quickly might be key, though...I'm trying to remember what I just did.  IIRC I kept hitting Contact Us until the option to Chat with an Agent appeared.  Then the Agent asked for a Case ID, my name, etc.,  and got me a refund in about 30 seconds!  (Assuming it goes through in the next few days like it should)...Just thought I'd share :)

Yeah ebay customer "service" can be a s--t show. I once listed a NIB item and it ended up going for like 75% of new retail price. The buyer never paid and sent me a message saying "hey I am not paying for this item. I can buy it new locally for about the same price." No apology. I replied "thanks for flaking out. 30 percent of the proceeds were going to SPCA. I wasn't even getting all that money." No reply. I noticed ebay reversed my seller's fees but they left the $40 liability for SPCA. I called ebay, and the foreign customer service lady spoke with a heavy accent. She didn't understand what I was talking about when I said they didn't reverse those charges. She kept saying "we refunded the fees already!" Finally after ten minutes, I hung up. I ended up paying the $40 out of my own pocket. I sent the "buyer" a note saying I paid his SPCA charitable contribution for him.  :)  He can lick my left nut.

The Biggest problem I see with eBay is their timelines.  They act like you have all the time in the world, and practically beg you to work it out with the seller, then all of a sudden they close the case as if Time ran out.  How about a countdown clock if Time can run out then?  At least in my case the lady said, I should have had warning about the case and I never did.

Also, in this case the seller said he was waiting to hear back from the post office and I was waiting to hear back from him.  His tracking only showed a label printed, not that he ever dropped it off...He claimed he did. I said he'd have a receipt. He said he couldn't find it.  Lot of back and forth and yet he appeared to be a reputable seller.  At the time, I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt.  Now I just wonder why he didn't just ship my item?  Too many knuckleheads out there I think...
