I didn't want to pay $2.91 a gallon at the Exxon (and that's the cheap stuff!), so after work I drove across town to King Sooper's to use my reward points (because I spent too much on groceries) and now I can save 10 cents a gallon...Off of $3.09 a gallon.
(sigh)

I think some people today would just like to have a Yugo, mainly due to novelty (And they've seen Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist too many times)...Obviously if they just wanted good mileage, there'd be many better options. @fdurso224 You're in the Bronx right? And does that mean you mostly walk or do you drive a lot too?

@GoldLeader Hi Johnny. Yes, I live in the Bronx. I actually use my daily cars (1993 & 2000 Ford Explorer's) to drive around the borough and throughout NYC. I don't have a problem taking public transportation or walking. In fact from my days in grade school of K-12, I use to take the bus or walked to school. But after receiving my drivers license at 18, I've been driving ever since.

Sam's Club has gas for 15 cents cheaper than the other stations, so it's like a $2 savings. It's close to my job, so I usually gas up there. I am about to buy a new 2021 Kia Rio hatchback. It gets 40 MPG so about double what my 10 year old SUV gets -- enough to where the gas savings will almost make the payment on the new car. Plus I don't like relying on ONE car. I am used to having 2 cars in case one's down or something. Like when you walk out and see a flat on your car and don't have time to change it and get to work on time, or if you're driving down the street from your house and you hear a weird noice.
