The one I find funny is when it's all COKE.   "What Kind of Coke you want?"

I'll take a Pepsi.  OK  "You?"   Make mine a Dr Pepper or R.C.  OK... and so on haha...

    3. Eltigro

Soda.  And I'm in Texas where people tend to lean to toward the "everything is a Coke" end of the spectrum.

    4. pacman000

Down South "coke" is used as a generic term for all soft drinks, but it's rare for someone to ask what type of Coke you want. Usually they ask "what would you like to drink?" After all, most places have other, non-carbonated options.

  2. It sounds like Mortal Kombat (movie theme) to me...If you remove the chorus (computer voice), and added back in the MK Samples ... I kinda like it though
  3. Personally I Love the Sanwa parts! And I like to use my HORI Real Arcade Pro for PS2 through converters to make it work with Genesis/Atari, though I can't remember if that uses Sanwa parts or just something similar...Lately I've just used my Edladdin stick though. It'll be interesting to see what others think...
  4. About to show my old age here...Maybe not so much for video games, but when I was a kid there were definitely toys around Christmas time that came in similar boxes, If I'm remembering correctly. I'm thinking maybe some stuff ordered from catalogs may have come like that. I seem to remember stuff like; Dinosaur playsets, army men, roulette wheels, lawn darts, toy slot machines or pinball games, I think certain Hot Wheels track sets...But I think it was only when shipped to your house as opposed to seeing it in the store, and sometimes the full color box was inside that, too.
  5. I've seen Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, and Twilight Zone, but never saw The Time Tunnel, Lost In Space, Land of Giants, or Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.   Thanks MeTV!  Lotta blinking light matrices in old sci-fi series.

    1. GoldLeader

Technically I guess I've seen one episode of The Time Tunnel, but it was on YouTube so kinda doesn't count. I never saw it back in the day.

  6. I just thought about how this song would get stuck in my head, but realized it's a little sparse on its own....Usually when it would get stuck in my head I'd also hear some game sounds then it all made sense (Like so...)
  7. I ordered an NES cart of the Rom which included the Pie Factory (some say Cement Plant)...But I can't remember where I got it. My thought is a lot of repro makers don't want to use a name that might bring Nintendo to their doorstep, but it couldn't hurt to ask...Some probably have it if you want it, but they don't advertise it. I quit buying repros so much after getting an Everdrive. OK I found one like mine, but mine was IIRC $35 some years back, so this is more expensive unfortunately... (There's a few cheaper ones in the Other Sellers on Amazon part below Add to Cart) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005XOMARY?tag=picclick0f-20&linkCode=osi&th=1&psc=1
  8. Asteroids Deluxe, Omega Race, Red Baron, and Star Castle! I know that's 4 but you should have seen the list before! Only a few times in the wild did I ever see Black Widow or Gravitar...I only saw Tac Scan, Cosmic Chasm, and Major Havok once each. Our arcade had Rip Off, Star Castle and Armor Attack, and a store near my house had Star Hawk and Asteroids among other games...They still have Asteroids in a barcade downtown and they just lost their sit down Red Baron (which I assume is broken)...They're replacing old games with stuff like Space Invaders Frenzy which is unfortunate; I mean it's OK, just nothing special like the actual old games...
  9. It doesn't really control heartburn though. Haaa! I crack myself up!
  10. Finally got my ducks in a row and took 2 days off to get better.  Sick as a dog right now, but heading to the doctor in a sec, I'll probably  play some Atari FB Portable in the waiting room...My Aunt is helping my dad who broke his arm in a car crash, and the girls are covering my shifts at work...I'm finally going to get better I hope.

Seems like you mentioned a cough a long time ago. Is this the same sickness?

    3. GoldLeader

@Random Terrain Yeah, Totally the same sickness!  It came with a cough first, just lately followed by runny nose, sore throat etc.,  The doc gave me meds so now I will get Better!!   (Except the prescription cough syrup which is no longer available (D'Oh!)) Shortage indeed @save2600

@Spriggy Haha!  I had Taco Bell tonight actually!  Sometimes I crave it and figure it's part of the cure!  Makes me tired too, so that's good...OK I should go to bed (again) soon since it's 3:25AM here haha...

The times when I stupidly drank too many caffeine soft drinks while eating too much garbage food and ended up getting sick, I would take 1 generic Sudafed (little red pill) and two Tylenols at 5 a.m., 1 generic Sudafed (little red pill), two Tylenols, and one generic Benadryl at 11 a.m., 1 generic Sudafed (little red pill) and two Tylenols at 5 p.m., 1 generic Sudafed (little red pill), two Tylenols, and one generic Benadryl at 11 p.m. Before my mother figured out that schedule, my fever, coughing up crud out of my lungs, and horrible runny nose made me feel like I was going to die. After the schedule, my fever wasn't so bad, I did a 3rd or 4th of the usual coughing, and I usually didn't get a runny nose.

  11. I just thought of another one that often gets stuck in my head and then I have to really use the ol brain to remember what it is...I don't recall anyone knowing about this one BITD, but I could totally be wrong, but now I'm sure people love it (because It's way more fun than you would have ever dreamed)...And that's Lunar Pool! (Lunar Ball on the Famicom).
  12. Oooooh, I am now getting ideas for a Pitfall! themed Hotel! Think of it, Ya build a hotel with reinforced walls and higher than average ceilings, then put a rope in the center of each room with pillows all over the floor. Then you could encourage the guests to jump on the bed by having logs printed on the bedspreads...The lamps on the nightstands could have a plastic base that looks like gold bricks. Add some forest background walls, a couple of blocky crocodile graphics on the sides and Voila! And Room Service could bring you Tacos, (perhaps with taco holders shaped like scorpions)!
  13. Myself, I'm a vegetarian and I don't even know what language some of you are speaking...just tell me the Tofurkey equivalents and I'll be on my way ...(prepares to be beat down, haha) Now this may be the lack of sleep or the cold meds talking, but I had a couple of thoughts... Thought #1 Kevtris is Awesome! But that's not an original thought so...Moving on... Before I even read some parts of this thread and the other one, I had a thought for Tommy on This thread. And it's just a suggestion, my friend, take it or leave it. While I don't think, if I were Tommy that I would Tallaricorize my every answer, Neither do I think I'd always take the high road like an attempted Kevtris while seeing misinformation blatantly dangling in front of my open eyes. I suddenly thought of, well, comic books of old. (Don't worry I'll probably explain). SuperHeroes used their powers for GOOD and SuperVillians used their powers for EVIL...Now TOMMY, IMHO you should use your powers for NEUTRAL! You could just correct misinformation with information. No need to fight the good fight, no need to ward off evil. Just correct us if we get something wrong. I say this here, mainly because I'm thinking you already have free reign on the other thread. For example, if I say, I heard the system comes out on XX/XX/XXXX and It's Wrong, You could provide the correct info! If someone else says, I heard there will be 20 launch games, but You know there will only be 10 (again just examples, For Illustration Purposes Only) You could chime in with the correct info. Anything from specs, games, licenses to any other facts you could provide would be invaluable. A big problem on the internet is some people don't know the difference between FACTS and OPINIONS. (And some people jump to personal attacks once their feelers are hurt, which is against AA's rules...Hmmm, easy enough). Sticking to Just The Facts, could allow people to more easily make up their own mind on this thing. And many people might want to evaluate the facts without additional cheerleading, which I tend to think of as enthusiasm, but not everyone does... and I think more people may come around (to your viewpoint)...Plus it would save you time if your more spirited responses were only on the other thread and here you watched more as an impartial observer, but Johnny-on-the-spot with Information, should the need arise.
  14. Exactly! So many games we know about now,...We had no clue about them back in the day!
  15. I suppose the question should be asked, well asked again, but perhaps in a different manner. Do you mean Favorite NES game music? Or does the word "Theme" here mean something specific? Do you mean the music most associated with a particular game or will any music from the game do? I answered it more the latter way... For example, if we were talking music to a TV show, "theme music" usually plays for the opening and closing credits. However, for video games I tend to think of their "theme music" as any in-game music, (i.e. the themes that play while you play the game), probably because I remember when games had no music, then just little repetitive bits, until eventually they had whole soundtracks....
  16. Don't do it Battlefish, You're better than this!
  17. Hey Keatah!   Nobody wants you to be out of the loop, my friend...Perhaps you wanna see this (Or not)...I'm partial to post # 36 (ha!) ...

Another food fight! What could possibly go wrong, third time's a charm.

I believe it was Ferris Bueller who once said, AtariAge moves fast...I thought this was the thread, all right, w/ new rules it shoulda been a contender, but as Darth Vader once said there is another...I think Tommy Tallarico will always be viewed as a cheerleader (as he Should be), but I really liked Kevtris's way of ignoring negative comments and misinformation so the console release speaks for itself.  Also like Jaybird's thought that sometimes info isn't wrong but simply out of date.   See Everyone in the New Thread!

    4. Spriggy

      Happy Birthday old boy!

  18. Tough call really... I like the music on Faxanadu, That one Snake man music on MegaMan 2 (?), Most Zelda and Castlevania, Tetris C music, and the Challenger theme on Gradius... OK, OK, I'll just say Deadly Towers...It was that first title screen music, and a couple of the first screens that had music that really blew me away when I first heard them...Though this is likely because it was one of my first ever games for the system...
  19. I forgot this could be confusing (as I've said so many times before)...I indeed meant original games for this system...

  21. Well said my friend, Can't get blood from a turnip.
  22. I hope ya don't mind I made a small change to your post...
  23. Respectfully, Is it possible HERE, though, to say both positive and negative things about the Amico? I was very interested in responding to the idea that anything said was, being passive aggressive ...I was about to respectfully disagree (in most cases anyway)... Maybe I'm speaking for myself here, but to discuss a console would be nice in a neutral environment, but that has to include positive and negative comments... At any rate, and I say this as someone who likes TT and who might very much like to buy an Amico, despite, not because of certain features (i.e. Family Friendly, couch co-op, etc.)...My main thought is that it is going to have pros and cons, but (in the other thread) I was getting tired of TT's responses to Every post, partially because they could be long, partially because they were going to be (necessarily) biased, but also because he could be set up like a hungry fish who took the bait Every Time... Also I (personally) would have a hard time discussing the console without mentioning its looks...I care Far More about games than looks, but if saying what it looks like is forbidden, Well, I guess I'd like to know that too... Thanks!

It's really neat that we have such a close link to Adam Sandler.

It was a quote from the cartoon Home Movies that I always thought was funny.   I just thought I'd throw it out there.  :)

Also it's from that Last Movie You watched Thread...Why am I answering so late here...No one will read this!
