  1. Or that the NES was everywhere in 1985...Definitely Not! Try '87-'88 .
  2. It's been happening to me more and more, but mainly when I'm on a little Netbook and not so much my main PC...I don't know if there's an issue or if it just happens from time to time...
  3. Our local mall used to be so much better! Even without the constant threat of online stores to deal with, they just made mistake after mistake...They have the rent too high on stores that matter, forcing music stores out etc., Then allowing in cell phone store after cell phone store and shoe store after shoe store... It's OK if you want a pair of shoes, an e-cig, a cell phone, or need to catch a movie and can't get to the good theater in town...
  4. ^Agreed! I, too, kind of like "home versions"! And since some are done poorly, this isn't an all encompassing statement... I think around the time of MAME or Playstation 1, it was possible to have an almost "arcade exact" experience at home, but if you back up to Atari VCS and Colecovision, or even go forward a few years (from there),...You remember a time when home versions were the norm. Sure the graphics weren't exactly the same, but gameplay was king. A huge part of the hobby was speculating which games would come out for which systems and when; And whether or not they got the gameplay close...This also led to the idea that you might get new ideas or options or even exclusive content in a home version that might make it unique and cool in its own right...
  5. Even without the colored lights and light up pumpkins, My house is kind of a horrorshow...

Very cool GoldLeader, and sorry for all the long posts clogging up your status replies. I just can't resist jumping in on ghost discussions lol It sure sounds like your house is haunted, which is really interesting from an outside perspective but I know it can be a bit unsettling when you have to live there. Especially when you need to get up and walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night. =P

My friend who makes documentaries wanted to set up cameras all around the house, but I told him no,...I think they've moved on I told him...But I wanted to share since it's Halloween :)

  6. Yeah, If it were done they'd need special permission from Master Control Program and they should try and get the rights from ENCOM...LOL
  7. I was just thinking on the idea of a TRON Game again... If a Talented programmer (say someone like PacManPlus, if I won the Lotto and paid him lots of money) made the game...And if an Awesome joystick builder (say someone like Edladdin, if I won the Lotto and paid him lots of money) made the special controller, That would be Amazing! And I should start buying Lotto tickets haha... As long as we're just imagining; I envision a menu at the start of the game allowing for many control schemes... For example: 1). Joystick controls movement and firing/aiming like in Berzerk or Tron Deadly Discs 2). Fire button shoots, Hold down fire button to aim 3). A 2 button game, One button shoots, the other button aims 4). Special controller
  8. I'd probably pay a lot! Haha... But in my mind, I was picturing more of a "home version" where maybe it could just be controlled with a joystick... I'd have to agree Any Arkanoid game would be Great as a paddle game!
  9. "Painline" controllers? Haha...That's about a perfect description! I still love the pads though!
  10. Of course I don't use the ADAM for any "Modern" tasks...Haha...It's mostly just another way to play Colecovision games...
  11. No problem brother! Seems like I had just looked at your auction when I came across this thread. Like I say I often use a HORI Real Arcade Pro for PS2 (plus adapter for Sega Mega drive that works for Atari as well) that is in many ways similar to your joystick.
  12. I remember Do! Run Run (barely) because an ice cream shop here in town had it as their lone arcade game back in the day...
  13. I like a lot of different ones... Favorites would be Slik Stik ball top, 7800 Europads, Sega Genesis controllers, Atari Flashback 2 joysticks, adapting HORI Arcade sticks originally built for Playstation 2, Wico Ball top (though I find these to be quite a workout)... And if money is no problem, check Edladdin,...And here's something on ebay from Jin on AtariAge: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atari-2600-Arcade-Stick-One-of-a-kind-Custom-built-with-real-arcade-parts/112177630245?_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982&_trkparms=aid%3D888007%26algo%3DDISC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D40147%26meid%3D01a1e3af493248298d3fbd368f0f8bdd%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26sd%3D302113656234
  14. Ultimate Qix (AKA Volfied or Qix Neo) Tron the Arcade game I admit I have no idea how the controls would work... Omega Race Stratovox New York, New York Pulsar Crater Raider Meteors (It's not exactly the same as Asteroids And any video pinball game...
  15. One more thing, Every PC and laptop I've ever owned, except the 2 I am currently using, have died...The COLECO ADAM on the other hand will NEVER DIE!
  16. Not sure why we didn't get them in the first place, but I ordered 4 of them from BEST in 2005 and I've never looked back. They are Great!
  17. Some local video game stores are great! Others are wretched hives of scum and/or villainy...
  18. I remember thinking this exact thought about those awesome controls! (And Nowadays we have Edladdin But BITD my prayers were answered also...In a magazine I saw an arcade controller for Colecovision and I ordered one. It had a ball top joystick (Not exactly like in the arcade but close enough), leaf switches (Too bad no microswitches), and 2 arcade buttons per side, with the joystick in the middle...I usually played using the joystick in my right hand FWIW ... Unfortuately, when it "wore out", I threw it away, not even realizing I could have replaced parts! Yeah kicking myself on that one...Today it would have been cool even to have the case it came in and put in a sanwa or something... *sighs*
  19. Agreed! Although I may be thinking of one exception...My Coleco ADAM took around 4-10 minutes to save something on its word processor...And if you accidentally shocked it with static electricity...As I once did, because I guess the carpet charged me up, you could lose everything! I once lost about 4 pages of a college paper and had to retype it from scratch On the other hand, the ADAM Never fired up with one of those inexplicable Microsoft Error messages filled with numbers and gibberish,....It just worked!
  20. The more you describe it, the more I'm sure that was the game I played once...Only once...I also seem to remember a red cabinet...Maybe red and black... Perhaps it's too many beers ago...
  21. I sold an Atari 7800 game to Rich and all went smoothly as well...I hope to deal with you again in the future!
  22. So sorry! It's terrible, but I wish you the best in trying times. My advice? Spend as much time with her as you can and know she'll be in a better place. My mother died in 2014, and my main regret is that I didn't see her right before she died as I'd been many days without sleep and finally fell asleep for a full night...And I slept through the phone calls and answering machine messages from the family urging me to get to the hospital. When my brother appeared, ringing my doorbell constantly....I knew...What a horrible way to wake up! But clichéd as it sounds life goes on...Personally, I won't endorse any religions, but do believe we all meet in the end...
