  1. Your work is absolutely Mind Blowing! (I'm not a big fan of leaf switches when microswitches are available, but that's just me)...It looks Incredible!
  2. ^ Sorry, I just now realized, that in the course of 1134 pages, we forgot to answer the question (?)... New Atari Console That Ataribox? And the answer is NO.
  3. Is it wrong that, paradoxically I agree with both of these posts 150%? (I don't know,...Percentages are not my strong point) OK, I glanced at the review. I wasn't going to. I own the game. I like it. That's all I need...Not really into internet or video reviews anyway. On one hand, I'm happy it gave a bump in sales and that it got high marks,...On another, I don't like seeing too much of a game in action (Don't want it spoiled when I first play it)...And on the third hand, (I don't know; Hand quantity must also not be my strong point) That game is amazing and they added lots of extras they didn't have to that make it even better...Personally I liked the old days of seeing a glossy page in a magazine, with, in the Best cases, a high quality picture of the game and box art plus multiple screen shots...but not too many (heh)... To sum up, My first impression of his review is that it was good but not great...See? I gave a review of a review, but I didn't pay attention to the whole thing...(a meta metaphor?, some not quite surreality presented the way AVGN would do it)...
  4. Thinking about it, hopefully mine arrives this week sometime as I'm on vacation, but if not that's OK too. I am so happy I signed up for this club! Even with life the way it is now (the new not normal haha)...It gives me something to look forward to.
  5. I'll tell ya I thought the Amico was definitely the Ugliest Ass console I'd ever seen, until they announced the release of the PS5...Sony! What in bloody Hell is That?? The thing looks like a plastic tulip met an electronic taco, while watching a weird contraption from Adam & Eve.com late at night at a bad modern art museum...(And not in the good way) Now the thing about the Amico is this: It may look like an open box foot massager bought at a flea market, but it plays retro games! (Retro being used correctly here, for those who worry about words too much)...And I don't know if I like the controller, I could give two rat tails about couch co-op, and the words Family Friendly make me wanna hurl, ... But I want one! I like new "old style" games, and modern versions of classics... I don't want a PS5 because I'm not too into modern games...And I don't want whatever Atari is doing now because that's like lesser versions of no longer modern games that don't run right (allegedly)... So for me, a new console has to be Retro or play Classic games. I look forward to Omni, I pre-ordered an NT Mini Noir, and I already own a Phoenix. I'll check out the Amico and might even pick up an Evercade in the future, but I'm pretty sure I'm not Atari's target audience... Other things I like are Games, Quality, and Consoles that I know will exist...
  6. Wow! You have had bad luck with them! Best to go with your experiences, then... Not meaning to mislead of course, but a lot of what I said was based on first impressions... Lately it seems I've had very little time for video games. And every console, game, or joystick I buy is an investment in the idea that someday I will give them a better test and I'll get a chance to really try them out...(Soon I hope) I better revamp my thoughts to say, my First Impressions, were generally pretty positive with 8BITDOs...But, I don't have any with analog sticks (even though I plan on getting an FC30 PRO), and (I could be wrong) but I think the pairing thing could be a Bluetooth issue. I've always said Bluetooth is crap, because it's always been a headache for me...Every time, with the sole exception being PS3 controllers that somehow just work...(and they don't require lining up blinking lights, computer keystrokes, firmware updates, or putting in the magic button combo to get something into Switch mode or whatever)...
  7. Got up today, went over to my coffee pot.  Opened it up to make sure I'd emptied out yesterday's filter etc., and a moth flies out at my face!  (My brain provided the orchestral stab of a horror movie soundtrack);  I made a sound like a sigh at double volume, double speed, then proceeded to catch the moth (Millers we call'em,  they're everywhere this time of year), put it outside,  then cleaned every part of my coffee pot before starting my day.   All right  I'm Awake!  I told the Universe.

Haha!...Good stuff Giles N!  I caught the moth in a cup and put him outside...There's no nest.  This state is one of a few that are on a "Miller's Moth" migration path (1 of 2 moth migrations in the world), in their larval stage I believe they are called Army Cutworms.  They don't eat anything and come Summer, they are at the end of their life cycle;  They get lost, but they are just trying to pollinate flowers in the Rockies and on the High Plains, so it's actually good when you see a lot of them.  Some years I only see 1 or 2 all Summer, but this year I've seen at least 5 a day,  with the record being 17 (FWIW, my all time record in the past was 20 millers in the house in one day!)...

Here's what they look like...This one was in my bathroom.

All the way up to the Rockies, eh; no wonder it needed a coffee before buzzing off again...

  8. My barely awake brain dyslexically misread this as: I assumed they were just trolling to get The ATARI FORCE to respond. (Now I'm laughing as I drink my coffee
  9. Sir, your ideas intrigue me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter!
  10. Not meaning to complain, but just gotta be honest... Am I the only one who misses the chat feature that AtariAge used to have? I mean I like to discuss video games as much as the next guy, but there's so many specialized areas in Discord...It feels like all the standard and fascinating random conversation gets lost. I mean a discussion of one topic would seem better served as a topic on AA...Chat always seemed more like, well a place for AtariAge fans to chat (about anything)... Anyway, the Discord feature is nice...I just prefered the old chat for some reason. PS I wasn't online in the early days, Was the old chat IRC or something else?
  11. And don't forget, they sold their backers T-Shirts at a Premium! Perhaps to prove they could ship *something* (I wonder if they got those in a lawsuit that someone was unable to pay?)...Such nice guys. @Woulfe I really liked your recap! If I was to add anything it would be: Generic FOX Business man: Will it play PONG? Fred of Nutari fame: ? Fred runs home, looks up PONG. Has idea for a Tweet. What's your high score in PONG?, A game I totally remember from my Atari 6200 days...
  12. I agree. While I think this new version of "Atari" is both pitiful and awful at the same time, I do think they'll release *something*. For me, it was over the moment they decided to call this abomination "The VCS". Add in the fact they are lawsuit happy while simultaneously not paying their employees (allegedly), which is reprehensible and, ...Well, I've never wanted something to fail so hard in my life! IMO, if Atari were smart, they'd compose a new update about problems with software and development, about unseen market forces and plague, and then bow out gracefully, but not before sending every one of their backers a shiny new Amico. That would be the most win-win scenario I could realistically imagine. The backers would get a much better conceived console, that would likely be supported; Atari would actually make money off the venture, and the name "VCS" would not get dragged through the mud. But I'm probably just a dreamer...
  13. I haven't tried them specifically, But I've been generally quite happy with all of my other 8BITDOs*...At this point I trust them implicitly. Maybe I'll get one in the future! *I have'em for SNES Classic, Super NT (2 kinds), MEGA SG, and a wireless adapter for the PS1 Classic...Plus they work on the original consoles...They're Awesome! (Give or take the weirdities of BlueTooth, of course).
  14. Sometimes ya just want to go Backl instead of Forwardl 😰
  15. That might have been my friend Reggie, Always joking around he'd say he was God...I told him if he really was "God" then why is he #4 instead of #1? LOL
  16. Food Fight - I saw it in the arcade, thought it was a Blast! When the arcade (I think it was Le Mans) sold some games to make room for more, my friend bought Food Fight. I'm pretty sure at this point I had a Defender cab in my room, and my friend wanted to trade for that. I believe I ended up sweetening the deal with some more money, but he threw in a mini TV also. I got the Food Fight, and this little handheld TV that had a big antenna coming off of it, but more importantly it had inputs, which I was able to access after buying some Radio Shack adapters. I remember blowing everyone's mind by hooking my ColecoVision up to this little TV (I'd guess a little over 2 inch diagonal)...I think with a game in color on that little screen, so we saw a glimpse of the future, at least 2 years before the Game Boy or Game Gear came out... Anyhow, I owned that Food Fight for years, sometimes having it in a local pizza place, and an auction's game room, sometimes setting it so the player could select any level (even Level 250 with a ton of extra guys!) and I only sold it when I really needed cash about 3 years ago...
  17. I received my Turbografx Mini Yesterday, too, also from Japan!. I'm definitely amazed at their shipping speed, especially as I have some eBay items that are taking forever (or they never shipped, because eBay can't seem to tell when auctions are fake anymore (that may be my new thread if I ever get around to it)...Anyhow I haven't had any time to crack it open, but at least the box is in my possession I'll probably treat it mostly as a reward for catching up on my work when I'm on vacation from my (main) job in a couple of days...
  18. Let's hope that doesn't happen here. I'm a big fan of Karma.
  19. Don't bend over at a Scorpions concert!

    I hear Matthias Jabs!

Ha! I see what you did there. I saw the Scorpions in 1984 at Madison Square Garden. Bon Jovi was the opening act. Good times.👍

Wind of Change is my favourite. That night the wall came down. Memories. Such a rush of emotion, good emotion for a change.

  20. Ya know, I've always enjoyed a good game of Galaxian! Whether arcade, Atari, Famicom etc. Just a fun game to pick up and play, and I tend to associate it with 80's Arcades (this is a good thing I assure you.)... I can't even remember where I first got it for the Famicom, prolly in a big lot of games where half of them were crappy baseball games, and it's certainly on every other multicart I ever bought haha... As for Super Pitfall, I've never played it. (I can certainly try out the ROM on my Everdrive at any time though.) I have an NES copy of it that came in a game lot and when I tried to play it even after a brisk cleaning, I could not get it to work...
  21. I think I cracked The Code!!  AFTER you create an account on Amazon.JP (Amazon Japan) THEN you can select Change Country/Region (under Language) to switch from your U.S. account to your Japanese account.  I know that people on here were to trying to explain that to us, us boneheads haha (For Example, in the Turbografx thread), but without a second account, that option will not appear (As I understand it).  Anyway I got my TURBOGRAFX MINI Ordered!!   WOOOHOOO!

    (Suck it Amazon US!)

      @NE146

Yes.  Without creating a separate Amazon Japan account, which can still totally use the same email, the option to Change Country/Regions will not be there, it will only be languages you can switch up.  At least that's how it was for me.  It was painless though, name, address, phone, password...The usual.  First thing,  change the language to English on Amazon.JP, then Create Account and so on...

FWIW, It came out to $117.97 (With shipping) when all was said and done...This may depend on the conversion rate the day you order...(Not sure if it updates daily, weekly, real time or what).

Cool.. I actually already have a Turbografx Mini I ordered from Amazon US, so was just curious should I decide to order anything else from japland. Thanks man :)
