    Here's them in action...
  2. I would agree that around the time of the crash, many of us were moving on to cars, heavy metal, girls, etc.,...NES brought it back around 87-88 I think...Not earlier,...I don't count test markets (personally)...
  3. Reminds me... HMMMMmmm... I watched a show the other night (on Netflix) called Midnight Gospel..and Oh Yeah ...they are definitely on all the drugs... awww Well..Here... H E R E . . .
  4. I Don't like hand sanitizer (almost wrote "sinitizer" ha!)...Dead germs and chemicals on my hands? Errf!  I'd rather use soap and wash'em for 20 seconds even if it means I have to sing Yankee Doodle, Happy Birthday, or Rock You Like A Hurricane!

  5. Nude Billiards....But,...You know, Ya gotta watch yer balls.

I'm in the middle, wearing an Atari shirt.
  7. Family Guy?  What's not to get?  You just had to have grown up in the 80's,... and be a teenager.

I think Futurama is the vastly superior relative of The Simpsons (hasn't been funny in at least 20 years)... My current favorite (non-anime) animated series is Bob's Burgers. Great writing and the combination of H Jon Benjamin's and Kristen Schall's vocal talents cannot be beat.

And yes, really enjoyed King of the Hill in its early years.

I've only watched Bob's Burgers a few times because here in the UK I can't find it on the schedule, It has moved channels at least once I think, but I have watched it, found it very funny in parts.

I might record it and watch a few back to back.

I think, personally, The Simpsons team got complacent. They were/are guaranteed re-commissions, so why be bold. Don't rock the boat. Just deliver the right number of episodes at the right time.

Aside from Apu, who I always found offensive, the early stuff was fantastic.

The irony of course is, as time went on the quality of animation got better but the quality of writing went down.

Apologies, Gold, if this ever expanding comments section is now jarring.

  8. I'll be honest, I've never added them up! I've got tons for Atari, Genesis, NES/Famicom, SNES, PS1, PS2,...I guess if we were to go boxed and not include loose carts, maybe PlayStation would be the most...
  9. I'd say Sure, Go ahead! But I think you should have to wait in line behind those of us who can't believe they had the unlimited gall to call this ShitShow a "vcs" ... I also think all of us here should never capitalize those letters, Unless we mean a Real ATARI VCS from the 70s/80s...
  10. As soon as I put on the mask,  my nose starts itching...

Not to say that this is just life...Like the way you can always find staples, but the mini stapler has disappeared, even though ya just bought another one at the dollar store 2 weeks ago,..Or how one of your seat belts in one of your vehicles always needs to be flipped around, but you can't do it because you're not The Hulk...Why is that anyway?

  11. The thing is,... As nostalgia works...We, well I, at least, will always have a soft spot for Defender and even Pac Man because BITD I knew it wasn't perfect or great, but it was what we had...And games like Star Ship (or mine which is Outer Space) has that too, but in a much different way. I wanted Star Ship, but it, along with Slot Racers was pulled from the shelves before I could buy it. And do you know what happens when you really want something but can't buy it anywhere? You only want it 20 times more! And when you finally get it, (though you may have weirdness affecting your perceptions), you may just have some fun with it, no matter what people think...People who come to the scene later, when there are many, many more options may be quite unaware of some of that early Magic and what it meant... **Now, I'm not saying to go out and play bad games, ... Just know that at the time, many of us put some time in certain games and can look back at it as a pretty cool thing. Wouldn't have it any other way actually...**
  12. You crack me up , man!
  13. In the early days JEB or JON... Then once we discovered Heavy Metal, Punk, and Thrash it was all over...We tended to put up initials of bands. For example: DRI Dirty Rotten Imbeciles COC Corrosion of Conformity SOD Stormtroopers of Death MOD Method of Destruction LOD Legion of Death V A Verbal Assault or Verbal Abuse D I (No meaning, initially meant Drug Ideology, but everyone thought it was Death Incorporated) S T Suicidal Tendencies GBH (Grievous Bodily harm) MDC (Multiple meanings like Multi Death Corporations) Good Times!
  14. This Atari Classic has a rotary paddle for a controller and shares a name with [a play from] Shakespeare.

For me, it was Henry the VI part 3. The 3rd part was the one with the colour backdrops.

  17. Wait! A Busby errr Bubsy game on Jaguar?? Now I actually kind of want a Jaguar...No, really!
  18. Snow's all gone!  Feels like Summer!  Soon it'll be the smell of fresh cut grass, the sound of my mountain bike tires on gravel, BBQs, and that "HypnoToad" sound the Atari makes when the cartridge isn't inserted all the way...

  20. I think of Centipede as very Iconic! I think the sound effects are Amazing! Pretty sure I first saw it at Time Out in our mall; I saw someone else playing it and was transfixed by it...Then in college some friends of mine had a Centipede cabinet in their house. I think they said they were "storing it for a friend"...Played it a few times in between the drinking beer, loud punk rock and metal, and fake wrestling/fighting over dumb arguments haha...
  21. I just woke up not long ago and, well, I had to run that one through my brain a second time...And now I think it's The Funniest thing on the Internet for Today, and then some...
  22. You're watching the Black & White, Period Piece, Old Lady Boring Movie Channel.  Stay tuned for "The Duchess Approves" Starring Sturly Stembleburgiss as "The Duchess", and Grampton St. Rumpterfrabble as a risible coxswain "Saunterblugget Hampterfuppinshire".

:rolling: It's just amazing what crazy stuff you may come across falling asleep on the couch while flipping through channels late at night...Meta though, not actual...I saw a cartoon (Gravity Falls) where the uncle was watching TV and this came on...It cracked me up for some reason :)

  23. I Love having this as something to look forward to! I'm sure many people agree with me that there's no rush here...Maybe the world will have settled down when the time comes and we'll be able to enjoy the good news when it happens.
  24. FWIW, I have a vague memory of Super Mario Bros. as an arcade game. Mainly, that when my friend got an NES before anyone else I know of, (1987 I'm pretty sure), it came with Super Mario and he said, 'Yeah, it's an arcade game"... Later, I saw one of these...(Or something similar)...At that point I still didn't have an NES so I couldn't tell you if it was the same or not...
  25. I bought Tac-Scan (Sega) on the Atari 2600 not knowing it was an arcade game, or maybe I had some vague notion that it might be, Then I saw the real deal at Circus Circus's arcade in Las Vegas. Very cool as I recall. Another one is Circus Atari. Somewhere along my travels I saw the actual arcade game, which is called Circus (Exidy, 1977) and is in black and white. I was pretty surprised. Technically I think the 2600 version is like an unlicensed clone...
