You realize what the irony would be of having a SNES capable of playing multiple systems' games, right?
Remember when? .... Play again...

I see no reason they wouldn't do a SNES Mini,...An NES Mini 2,...An N-64 Mini ...and so on...
20 or 30 years from now, when we see the GameCube Mini...I'm going to point back to this post and pretend I was smart ...

I think what most people are saying here is that if the speed is off, the speed is off, same for sound/lag issues...You can't "fix" an emulator that is playing things at the wrong speed. They would have had to optimize the emulator before releasing the product.

Yeah I can't speak to Sydney Hunter, but for Justice Beaver IIRC they began to add whole new levels...so they were taking their time and making it better (And Not in a Coleco Chameleon sort of way haha)...

I hear ya,
I didn't get Sydney Hunter (Though I want it
,...But I sponsored IGG for Justice Beaver for SNES...Also Collectorvision (Gamester81)... I just think these things take more time than anyone realizes...I get occasional updates, and honestly as long as they're making progress and haven't forgotten about me, I'm happy...

I got this saturn, two games, two controllers, hookups, and fritos for free with 'em - $70 and tax.
I had a saturn a while ago but sold it as the drive was flaky... yeah I missed it so I got a new one to be happy.
The best part here is that ya got Fritos for free with 'em...haha....OK I just thought that was cool, which is especially weird since I don't think I like Fritos...
I guess It would have been just as neat if they threw in a Pepsi or something...Either way sounds like a good deal!

The game Defend Your Castle, released on Christmas Eve by mr-atari works!
It is a 2 player game but you can still have fun and try it out with one player....
IIRC I opened the zip used the NTSC version and changed ROM to BIN...
It's here.

Ha! I figured it out. Apparently Windows doesn't format SD cards correctly. You need the formatting tool from https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/eula_windows/index.html
Now I can play ET on my Portable.

Maybe it matters which Windows you're running? I have Windows 7 and mine worked fine the first time! I'm quite amazed because I'm usually the guy having all kinds of problems, and here it worked for me and everyone else has issues...What next cats living with dogs?

I changed the ROM to BIN and it played fine on the ol' Flashback Portable! And it's quite fun!~ YAY!!

My owner's manual says the max card supported is 8GB...
Maybe I lucked out because the first card I tried worked like a champ...I used a SanDisk 4GB Micro (in the adaptor).

That article, while interesting, is to me, an almost textbook example of internet journalism...
There's way too many unanswered questions for it to be taken at face value...
For example: The comments suggest that the band's fans already knew all about the Patreon connection and that the artist as a CEO was taking no money from that position...I have no idea if that is true or not. It simply raises more questions. And there's even a comment suggesting all this fuss is over a cover band...No idea of it's true because I'm not familiar with the band, and maybe it's only a side note, but one worth mentioning...And if he is a CEO, why would he not be getting a salary from it?
I'm not forming an opinion here because I definitely don't have all the facts...

I hate to see anyone have problems with something like this...But I do remember AtGames track record. Until the Flashbacks, I had only bought a GENMobile from them. It was sort of a portable Genesis with a cartridge slot (no SD slot). And the cartridge slot wore out almost instantly which really sucked and I haven't bought the version with the SD slot because (among other things) The ROM of my favorite Genesis game (Ultimate Qix) plays much faster than the cartridge version...
My advice is if anything goes wrong, return it to the seller immediately...I hope AtGames gets the message that they need good Quality Control! So far, other than that GenMobile, I've had no issues with other products from AtGames...

BTW I still think of this thread as the gift that keeps on giving...

Myself I've only ever supported 2 things via crowdfunding (KS and Indiegogo)...
And they were: An Edladdin ColecoVision Joystick, and a LTD Edition Blue cart of (a new game) Justice Beaver for SNES...
Still glad I supported both and no worries!
I will admit though, it is like a spin on the roulette wheel...You put your money on and kiss it goodbye, but then there's the chance you'll win...

The pre-programmed games all worked just fine... I did get the system to read the disk again... after a while it did the same thing; just couldn't read it any more. I've never dabbled with ROMs like this before; not sure what if anything I am doing wrong when I put the files onto the SD card.
I'm no expert either, But it seems to me that if it did work, even for a while, then you haven't done anything wrong. That leaves either the card or the Flashback. I hope it's not the latter. I'd start by replacing the card and see if that fixes it.

I was very excited to pick up the Portable today... I used this topic to add ROMs to a Lexar 8GB SD card I also picked up today, which worked great until after I tried Sinistar. The thing just stopped working and the FBP won't even recognize it now. I tried deleting all the files and readding them, but it still doesn't see it. I'm not really sure what to do... any suggestions? Has anyone else had this happen after trying out Sinistar or was that just a coincidence?
I've played Sinistar with no problems, so my guess there is that it's coincidence...I'd try reformatting the card entirely (If you haven't already) and if that doesn't do it, I'd try a different card...Do the built-in games still work?

The problem IMHO with reporting such things to ebay is that they might just get confused and decide to ban the sale of any Atari FB Portable...Or any handheld that takes ROMs....OK that one is a stretch, but sometimes the subtleties are lost on them...I don't like risking it.

Rookie mistake. There's nobody in this thread by that name. The username is listed above the title. I am likewise not "Princess Rescuer."

I dunno there Princess Rescuer...
You know how sometimes ya call people Buddy, or Sport, or Chief, or Pal...
Or even Tiger, or Hero, or Sunshine?
Sometimes I can't help myself...I go up to someone and say "Hey there Quadrunner...What's crackin'?"

Retro Bit Generations Hacked, Here is How:http://retrogamingmagazine.com/2016/12/20/retro-bit-generations-hacked-here-is-how/
Wow!
I just read that article and raced back over here to post it...You beat me to it IG-88!

Like most MK ventures, Retro Magazine actually isn't a toxic idea at its core. It's the constant MK need to turn a buck, corner the market, etc. that brings about the bad decisions.
In a hobby, some things need to either be a labor of love, or not happen at all. That's just the way it is.
I think your last couple of sentences seem to be dead on. I could be wrong, but didn't the idea for Retro spring from what started as game reviews on Gamegavel?...I doubt there was any money changing hands for those...
And from there the idea to have a glossy, full-color magazine, like in the old days sprang to life. Myself, I like the idea...I've liked video game magazines with a retro flair in the past (For example Video Game Collector), but then MK started seeing dollar signs and what was once a few people reviewing games online became this big venture he thought he had to monetize...
You all know what happened next...

same here GoldLeader, garbage on the left side, the right lane missing at the bottom..... but still playable. I made the changes to the Portable Compatibility List.
Thanks Arenafoot!
You're a gentleman and a scholar...(Well maybe one out of two ain't bad) ...
