  1. I gotta be honest...I started lightly laughing when I read this...and then slowly, as I re-read the Topic title one more time I began to laugh more and more...And louder
  2. Did anybody else look at shadows on the ground during the eclipse? The tree leaves' shadows all became little moon crescents for a while!

I went out to watch it at it's zenith, but unfortunately there was nothing to see here in Minnesota. We were supposed to get an 87% eclipse but it was cloudy and rainy all day and there was no sun in sight.

My neighbor, an older gentleman, was joking saying "The Snakes would come out of the garden"...I had no idea what he was talking about, then he said,"Just watch the shadows during the eclipse!"

  3. Thanks! Yes mine is Special Edition Version 3. I didn't realize, over time, that there were so many box variants...Nice work!
  4. I think my money will be going to a RetroN 77*, An Activision Flashback 8, and lots of Kit Kat Bars! * Assuming they get it figured out, STELLA preferred...
  5. Special AA Eclipse Edition Update. Tonight: Live music, Beer, Game O Thrones. Tomorrow: Eclipse, Chilling, 98% Totality, Partly Sunny,...That's OK clouds may just make it a bit darker...Introspection, Reflection, and History. CHEERS!!

  6. It is the Special Edition...Where would I look to find out what version? I do notice a stamp on the other tab, it says REV 1 (twice) and below that is what I believe is a number 3...Is that what you are referring to?
  7. I initially thought I got mine for Christmas 1980...But after looking at my carts, (I got 5 games that year) and jarring my memory a bit; I'd say it was a little bit later, maybe for my birthday in January. I'm pretty sure this was the 8th or 9th Atari cart I ever got. The tab says 7/79. I had no idea these tabs even existed! Thanks Random Terrain!

  10. Holy Cow! A facebook video people can actually watch! I even was able to read the comments! It wasn't their usual crap of Do you want to join facebook? no Do You want to join facebook? ummm, no Please join facebook? No!! We must mine your data... Join facebook or else! ***And then trying to see a facebook page covered by a giant banner taking up a third of the screen telling you to join if you want to see it.*** BTW No offense to you or your chosen platform, but I always figured if facebook was really so hot they'd let anyone see it and then people would join after seeing how much fun everyone else was having...
  11. LOL! Sorry "Atari", being stupid is Not the answer! Break me off a piece of that Kit Kat bar!

  13. No disrespect to zzip, They did succeed in getting us talking about it... But talk is cheap,...Designing a video game console is not....Even though I get it, It's honestly a bit depressing that the Atari of Nowadays is having to go the crowdfunding route. (Which counts me out until later, though I still wish them the best). What gets me is trying to figure out if they have a plan, or if they're still way back at the start of the planning phase... If they ask for input or still need developers, then it doesn't sound like they are very far along... If Step 1 is to get us talking, then they're right on track! Unfortunately I foresee a whole bunch more steps before I can go into a store, or online and buy one of these **whatchamacallits**...
  14. Yeah and I remember seeing that in a magazine some years ago, but I've never played it...
  15. Man you guys find some really cool stuff! Lately I've seen some cool stuff in the wild too! And some of it is even video game related haha... First, I saw a Lamborghini in town the other day. I know it's not a video game, but I just thought it was cool. Haven't seen one locally since I saw a Countach here in the 80's...For the record it was a Gallardo. Second, today as I mowed a lawn on the outskirts of town I saw a Praying Mantis. That's just cool because I've never seen one before and I didn't know they even lived in Wyoming. It climbed up a shed as I walked by and kind of freaked me out at first....And yesterday my friend and I walked around a pond at dusk and saw a ton of bats feeding on all of the insects nearby...My friend had never seen a bat in the wild before...I have, though. In fact in college, our class went to a darkened room (part of the "bat lab" at the university) and watched them feed the bats....Very cool being in a small, dark room lit by one single red light bulb as the bats feast on crickets in front of you...They'd fly within about 6 inches of people causing some girls to scream, but never once bumped into anyone...Fascinating...And now to get on topic (sorry)... I think the number of times I've actually seen anything good or video game related at a yard sale or thrift store could be counted on one hand. Once I bought an Adventure cart for Atari at a garage sale for 75 cents in (about) 1988 and I instantly loaned it to a friend I never saw again...And about 4 years ago I snagged some PS2 games for $2 each at a charity sale at a bank... Then there's Today... I saw a garage sale 2 blocks from my house. I was on my way to mow a lawn, wearing old clothes and shoes etc., and looked like I just crawled out of a rock in hell, but thought, it couldn't hurt to ask... So I pulled over. Then asked the guy, "Do you have any video games?" He pulled a box out from the back of the garage, and said "Playstation 2?", I said, "Sure! Or anything Retro..." He said a buck each so I just took everything he had... I know for a fact I already have Lord of The Rings, Guitar Hero, and probably some of the racing games (I mean who can keep those straight, am I right?), but for $15 I raced back home and grabbed some dough...I'll probably sell the duplicates on eBay sometime... I'm quite happy! And look only 1 sports game!! Cheers!
