  1. I like the way you think to be sure,...But isn't YouTube still kind of the Wild West? I don't think they're there yet...And of course they may never be. My Official opinion is that it will succeed, or fail, or maybe fall somewhere in between. Maybe. But that assumes they love the old mantra "Any Press is Good Press". These days I'm not so sure. Ask O.J. Simpson, Tiger Woods, and Mel Gibson if they still believe that. I think if they release a crap system it will all be for nought...All smoke and no fury...But, for the record I hope they succeed!
  2. Maybe I'm having a memory lapse here, but aside from some Parker Bros games not fitting very well, I thought my Coleco Adam or ColecoVision plus expansion module played almost everything...I even have Actual Ataris that refuse to play Galaxian for instance...And with a custom cable for the ADAM it outputs A/V with no mods... I think a combo like a Flashback 2 plus cartridge slot, plus (Ideally) some output options in HD would make for a killer system that could be accomplished if some company were so inclined...But I'm sure they have a million reasons to say I'm wrong... Just let ME win The Powerball and I'll get it done!
  3. OK, So after my computer died and was reborn (New HDD and "new" Windows 7) I FINALLY Got a Working copy of iTunes (OLDer iTunes, before Apple Wrecked it). Anybody know of a Free program to delete duplicate song files?

  4. It is fun to speculate, But yeah, being an unknown and crowdfunded at that... It's like a big question mark wrapped in negativity for the moment... I hope something good, and fun, and interesting comes from all of this...
  5. Considering the state of Most used paddles, I just think it's very cool you can buy New ones!
  6. Anybody remember Groovie Goolies?

I do recall the cartoon, but not as fondly as the Drak Pack ;)

I remember it, but I would have been 2 or 3 (?),...At any rate I always figured werewolves should have dragsters.

Actually a guy at work gave me a DVD set of Drak Pack after I'd mentioned it, but could only vaguely remember it. And I found Goolies on VHS at a pawn shop 20+ years ago...

  7. IMO it's Modern. Maybe it's because I've been around since the PONG era... But to analyze it. It played CDs and DVDs. Modern. It had Optical Output. Modern. It had analog sticks, analog buttons, more than 6 buttons, and rumble (Dual Shock). Modern. It did Not take cartridges. Modern. It did Not have to be Modded to hook up to a modern TV. Modern. It hooked up to the internet, even if it was a pain in the Ass. Modern. It featured Polygons. Modern. 3D. Modern. It had a hard launch date and everyone lining up making headlines in OCT 2000 (I got one!!). Modern. In the days of Atari and NES, systems (and many times, games) just kind of appeared on the shelves. Release dates were approximate at best. Now as far as DLC and internet stores/games, HD, and wireless controllers (out of the box)...Those things are just More Modern. FWIW, I could see calling it Classic once it's been around for 25 years, though that is a descriptor based on time and not features...And I probably won't use it but to each his/her own.
  8. I think it's safe to say that Amazon and Nintendo hammered out a deal behind closed doors... Now whether that took place a long time ago, whether or not it preceded the announcement that they were discontinued, or if it was a more recent development, the world may never know...
  9. Since I can't imagine Amazon paying reseller prices for them and then selling them at retail prices...Well I kind of wonder if they didn't get Nintendo to make them a run...Maybe on the sly...They wouldn't even need a sweetheart deal, it's probably money they see spent as part of an advertising budget or something... Think of the implications. If there was a truck full of these in Houston the day before yesterday, they had to come from somewhere.
  10. So a quick note to this old thread... I have no idea how it works, but my buddy just got an NES Classic TODAY AT RETAIL from the Amazon Treasure Truck....He's in Houston, TX and he said he had to download an app and pay for it on the app, then he went to the truck to pick it up in person. So I guess the truck has to be in your city, The NES Classic has to be the item, and you have to download an app...
  11. Happy Birthday Mayhem and Happy Birthday PacManPlus!!

yeah Slayer is pretty good but definitely overrated. I'd put Suicidals AND Testament over Slayer.

  13. WTF? Well I hope they pay! Nothing worse than being on the losing end of one of those situations where suddenly the bidder thinks the rules don't apply to him/her, and maybe they shouldn't have bid so much so they try to weasel out of it. I'm to the point I wish ebay linked accounts directly to a bank account so the money just goes from their account to yours after they win.
  14. Maybe I really don't understand computers at all. I have Never in my life "enabled" a Google Toolbar, but I've had to "disable" it "permanently" 3 times. Each time they wonder why, but there's no option for I Never put it on in the first place!

Don't get me wrong it doesn't instantly come back...maybe 6 months to a year later I look up and there it is, also occasionally my Favorites Bar would disappear despite being "locked".

  15. As far as the look of the console, I already like the look of that better than the Ataribox.
  16. If I were him, I'd want [access to] subscribers and nothing else...Then I'd put out a cool retro themed magazine, complete with a new name and an unsullied reputation.
  17. Ebay's "Browse Related" sidebar really cracks me up. It's like, we see you're looking at prices for Suikoden II for Playstation, perhaps you also want to buy the rubber seals for the auto glass on a Chrysler New Yorker?

^LOL, No idea on that one! I just remembered I put in the words "New" and "Sealed" in my search...Now mine makes a little more sense LOL.

Always amusing to see what gets pulled in the your relatables.

Looks like you are looking for a price on Magic knight Rayearth you might also like ornate casket handles.

  18. Interesting you mention this one: Outer Space. Or Star Ship, depending on whether you have the Sears or Atari variant (Mine is Outer Space but you wouldn't know because the end label fell off long ago). Probably a year before I had an Atari, my friend had one and he had this game. I think we only ever played it once for a minute or two, but I got it in my head that it was really fun, or at least I wanted to play it again to see if it was fun. And this was one of the first games I sought out but could not find in stores because it had been discontinued and they'd moved on so to speak. This was when I figured out that games would not be around forever on store shelves...Slot Racers was another one I could never find on shelves back in the day... FWIW, I ended up getting them both as loose carts later at pawn shops or video game stores...
  19. BTW I too enjoy Dodge'em and Slot Racers.. And a lot of other people's choices too. Oh and I thought of another one!...Condor Attack! Pretty sure people hated that one, but I liked it a lot. Probably because despite being weird and imperfect, it seemed to me that it was a tribute to 80's arcade games.
  20. So my problem, give or take, may be that I don't exactly know what is or isn't popular... For example I always loved Frankenstein's Monster, but never hear anyone talk about it...There was a long span of time it was my Favorite. Some others that seem like they should at least be more popular...Megaforce, Turmoil, Superman, Slot Machine, Bermuda Triangle, and Tron Deadly Discs ...OK, OK, Tron probably was popular but maybe should have been Even More Popular...
  21. Haha...Deep in the back of my mind this thought circulated too...I didn't want to say it out loud, though...Some ghosts don't deserve corporeal form.
