  1. Maybe I'll play some more Mini; After Walking Dead, Talking Dead, Simpsons, Son Of Zorn, Family Guy, John Oliver etc.,...Damn! Sunday Nights are Great TV Nights IMO
  2. Even though it sounds like it's a long ways off, I'm actually stoked for Prometheus! The thing is I don't want to let the Chameleon make me jaded, or soured (or whatever the opposite of spoiled is) toward any new retro console release. And if, just theoretically here...Let's say a ColecoVision 2 Did come out and It was branded Coleco and had access to the licenses of the coolest ColecoVision games, for the purposes of making sequels to cool franchises like Mr. Do! or Omega Race (for instance)...I'd probably be the first in line for that too! I realize I'm part of a niche within a niche, that likes "cult" products or however people will describe something independent with less than "mass appeal". I held off on an SGM mainly because whenever I wanted one they weren't for sale and then each new cool game coming out seemed to require one....I hope Opcode does a little better in that respect... But I can see where they're coming from and I wish them the best....Also, minor sales and distribution concerns aside, they don't seem to be the kind of company to start a full-blown ad campaign for something before there is even a prototype. They seem to be cautious, just kind of letting people know that they're working on something to build a bit of early buzz....While concrete details will be forthcoming later...Maybe I'm just being optimistic here, but I'd like to think maybe the mistakes of Chameleon will be on their mind...And though many are negative (understandably after being burned by CC and MK), I'm going to try and give them the benefit of the doubt... BTW My comments are not about whether or not you will buy one...Obviously if you don't want one, don't buy one, ... But I'm speaking to whether or not the concept is a valid pursuit. I'll just say I like the idea.

  4. The red one with the Atari logo does look kind of cool... But I don't have money to burn and if I did, I think this would be low on my list of priorities....Very low. I'm actually having more memories of how awesome that Pac Man watch is! But I Never really liked wearing a watch. Aside from the novelty of my red LED watch back when that was futuristic, ...or my LCD watch that played monophonic casio versions of 2 Beatles songs. Or maybe the joy I felt looking at my watch in Junior High and realizing class was almost out, which I also did by looking up (at the clock on the wall). Nope, any time I wore a watch, I felt I could feel the constraints of time...Binding,...This man-made entity, stealing my life seconds at a time....Watching the sands of the hourglass drain until at long last I would shuffle off of this mortal coil and wish all good friends a final goodbye. Thanks Kickstarter, You made me think of Death!
  5. Man! Lots of great answers here! I'd say Super Columns for Game Gear (I always wished it had a Genesis release)...And Bust A Move games on Neo Geo, SNES, and Playstations... I'm not sure if I'd call it a puzzler per se, but Ultimate Qix (AKA Volfied) for Genesis is one of my favorite games Ever!!
  6. I think it was entertaining up until 10 minutes ago... Just kidding! I am still entertained by it! (Maybe not as much...But still entertained)...
  7. I believe the writers were instructed to make the issue bug free. OK Now I'm doing it. I'm trying to sleep with the help of some pills,....Now I don't want to blame the drugs...But I laughed at both the above posts. (I love this thread!)... Anyone get the issue with the Atari on the cover?
  8. That is unbelievably cool! It totally reminds me of when my friend sold/traded me a handheld mini TV BITD and I hooked up my Coleco to it using adapters from Radio Shack. It was like seeing the future 10 years before (I got a) GameBoy! Of course if I looked down I still saw the giant console at my feet... Do you mind if I ask how much you paid? I noticed the guy on facebook really didn't want to talk about price (and it looked to me like dollar signs were going off in his head) and I'm not a FB guy so I'm not gonna sign up just too find out...
  9. Or there's my other idea for a band called Lead Zeppelin... That could be confusing though as some people might think I meant the element, when I mean the Zeppelin at the head of the column...
  10. I knew exactly what ya meant...That's why it'd make a Great Band name! Because only people in the know would pronounce it correctly at first...
  11. Content Farm Dude ... Also the name of my new rockabilly band ...LOL
  12. It was very nice you were there for her...My condolences and best wishes to you...
  13. Yeah that wording got me at first, but I clicked on their link...Then I figured they'd just thrown the word Ultimate in there haha...
  14. Actually, and sorry if I overexplain here...I think when I wrote that (It's all relative)....I was thinking in terms of price to quality. Or simply put, you can get a lot of Famicom games cheap, but how many are quality games?
  15. I just reread some posts and thought, That is confusing! I'm not sure if my brain was translating to the fingers very well the day I typed that...(It could mean price LOL)...I may have been thinking in general terms. (It could mean Everything haha). Next I suppose you're going to ask me to be sober when I do this?
  16. Even if it's just a dream, this is one of the funniest posts I've read lately!....Maybe because my imagination kicks it into high gear, and I picture a kid in a toy store torn between the regular sized MK action figure and the 12 inch*, which would probably come complete with a mini copy of Retro in one hand... Speaking of... Got my copy of Retro #12 today....ColecoVision Cover! Score!... (I wanted the Coleco or Atari cover because I never owned an Intellivision, excluding Flashbacks)... *I also figure the 12 inch MK figure would have a button to press so you could hear him talk. You'd push it and he'd randomly say stuff like, "I'm making it Better!", "No more Questions!", and "Simple as that." I also think if you hold the button down, he utters the secret phrase, "Com'on guys....Stop making fun of my Bookazine!"
  17. Pronouns huh? (I'm often left wondering what exactly the "it" is in certain sentences.) Cybercyon is referring to Price. What does one consider cheap? Answer: It's all relative. A rich guy might have no problem springing for NES Bonk...My cheap ass better look for the Famicom version. Myself, I was referring to Game Quality. What does one consider a good game? If you are talking about, let's say, Famicom games that cost between $2-7, how many of them will you consider to be "good games"? Answer: It's all relative. I would expect up to 80% of cheap games to be played once as a novelty, and then end up in my "Look! It's a novelty!" pile. Many call them "Unplayable", I tend to think, you could try to play them, but you will end up not doing it. Your mileage may vary.
  18. That is crazy! I'm glad you made it! I wish you and your family the best!
  19. It's definitely all relative. Some of the really good games will cost a lot, some common gems aren't too bad...But in random lots, expect a lot of tile games and baseball haha...(You may luck out)...
  20. This may be one of the most useful posts EVER! Thank you so much for this! I've identified many a game, but usually took the long way home... This list may have simplified my life. Now, maybe I'm kind of a hypocrite as I tend to keep one of everything (even if it's just as a novelty), but I would tell people: The trick to Famicom, or Super Famicom collecting, in my humble opinion, is to keep everything with Lasers, robots, monsters, alien planets, mechs, pinball, arcade games, and dragons...But get rid of everything soccer, baseball, tile games, pachinko, horse racing and anything that's too Japanese to figure out.* * Obviously your list will probably be different than mine.
  21. I just heard the news...New FOOLY COOLY Episodes coming in 2017!!! WOOOO HOOOO!

  22. There are so many Great NES games out there! Not that I'm an expert. Anyhow, I like your list a lot! To include personal favorites, and this could be nostalgia talking, but I'd also add Deadly Towers, Faxanadu, Any/All Dragon Warrior games, if they'd work...Then I'd add some lesser faves like Recca, Wizards & Warriors games, Addams Family games, Saiyūki World 2: Tenjōkai no Majin (or Whomp'em), Over Horizon, Clash at Demon Head, Sweet Home, Conquest of the Crystal Palace, Pinball Quest, Death Race, and maybe some Castlevania hacks, Mario hacks, and any Japanese games, homebrews, or English translations of RPGs I might want to try out... Myself, I haven't hacked the Mini (yet...) We'll see... I'm still planning on buying an Everdrive cart one of these days...and I might get an AVS or a Retro Freak in the future...I really want a Retro Freak, but got a broken one last time Plus I've got a lot of options. I do already have a RetroN 5, and I have a (boards only) RGB Famicom that outputs VGA, S-Video and more...For some reason it is not compatible with NES games, though, even with an adaptor. The designer/engineer said he had no NES games to test it out, but thought that future versions would run NES. I would need the hacking guide for dummies, though with every step laid out for me or I'd be afraid I'd brick my system...I should probably poke around YouTube and see what's out there...
  23. Thanks for the offer Zonie! At any other time I might take you up on it. Unfortunately for me, money's tight 'til next month. My post was just a dream at this time... Maybe there'll be some other takers.
