Possible Return of the Coleco MiniCades!
GoldLeader replied to thevnaguy's topic in Dedicated Systems
I still have my boxed Galaxy II from Epoch from back in the day!! It was definitely an '80's style arcade shooter and it was cool how they gave it different levels... Neat to hear someone else remembers that....I even remember (somewhat vaguely) that there was a TV commercial for them BITD. -

I can see it now... Maybe 1 in 10 Switches will come with a "coupon" whereby the "Winner" will be able to buy a Mini! ... Dear Nintendo you should hire me....I've got great ideas! Just ask the fine folks over at AtariAge... -
I just worked up a sweat shoveling my walk (about 9 inches) in 1 degree temps (RealFeel of -27)...

While, in and of itself, not a bad idea... On general principle alone, why should Anyone have to Rent what Everyone Else gets for Free? Obviously I could see it for business use, but for personal use, it shouldn't have to be that way... -
Coleco Chameleon .... hardware speculations?
GoldLeader replied to phoenixdownita's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I'd like it to be said that you guys crack me up over here...And this is often a flagship thread! And every once in a while I see something crazy enough on here to really make me think! For example, A video game magazine done with OIL PAINTINGS? I can honestly say Sign me up right now! Not only would I go... to the art gallery (I assume), But I'd make a day of it! I'd be the guy that brought beer and we'd all have a Grand Ol Time! -
Coleco Chameleon .... hardware speculations?

I'd love to see a documentary about the Chameleon, but done with pixel art and text stuffed inside a SNES cart! Ideally it could rhyme like a Doctor Seuss book, but OK now I'm just being crazy... How you'd watch it could be up to you. Put it in a SNES (Make sure ya call it a SNEZZ) or a Retro Duo, RetroN 5 or Retro Freak, DL it to an emulator or Everdrive jobber, or maybe throw it in your own Jaguar (after doing the Chameleon Conversion of course)... A fella can dream haha!... CARTRIDGES! -

Man Silverfox, You must have had some rough dealings with the post office! While I agree, in theory, that something can go wrong... From my own experience I've had more bad luck with people trying to scam me than the post office... Want the stats? I have had over 900 dealings on ebay. People have tried to scam me 5 or 6 times. I've had ONE item lost in the mail. And I had 2 items that took a long time to arrive, but they did arrive. Also I had an envelope break once and one item (of two) fell out, but I received it the next day when the postman realized it fell out of the envelope and he found it on his truck floor... -

I must be out of the loop...I remember when 360s were bad (like 1 in 4, or even 1 in 3) and people actually HAD to purchase extended warranties, (which may have helped Circuit City stay in business an extra couple of years LOL)...But I never heard anything bad about PS2s. I myself have 4 of them, including the one I bought on launch day, and some used jobbers, plus a mini I bought just to hook up to my projector. Aside from one bought at a pawn shop that made some noise when the tray would slide in or out, I never had an ounce of trouble. I thought I remembered reading in a magazine that the failure rate on them was less than 5%...But don't quote me, that was a long time ago... -
David Crane Interview - Pitfall! - Arcade Attack
GoldLeader replied to Adriano Arcade's topic in Atari 2600
Just a note for you that might require a revision... That link led me to Eugene Jarvis, not David Crane. But after looking around I read both interviews and they were Great! Good Job! -

I keep hearing FEB or MARCH and the words "Slow boat from China"... I actually think it would have been a nice gesture of goodwill on Nintendo's part, if they had found a way to bring in a couple of planeloads of them for the holidays... Oh well, Too late now... I only hope there's still some interest when they do arrive... -
Atari Flashback Portable!
GoldLeader replied to Byron's Reviews's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
I think a future platform could be a portable with Just the Paddle games... Picture a unit with far less games, but all of them Paddle games and instead of a D-Pad, a Paddle built right into the unit... And I mean something In addition to the FB Portable...Not a replacement for it. Anyone else think That would be neato? -

I see no reason they wouldn't do a SNES Mini,...An NES Mini 2,...An N-64 Mini ...and so on... 20 or 30 years from now, when we see the GameCube Mini...I'm going to point back to this post and pretend I was smart ... -

Avoid the Retro-Bit Generations plug-and-play console
GoldLeader replied to goldenegg's topic in Dedicated Systems
I think what most people are saying here is that if the speed is off, the speed is off, same for sound/lag issues...You can't "fix" an emulator that is playing things at the wrong speed. They would have had to optimize the emulator before releasing the product. -
Yeah I can't speak to Sydney Hunter, but for Justice Beaver IIRC they began to add whole new levels...so they were taking their time and making it better (And Not in a Coleco Chameleon sort of way haha)...
-
I hear ya, I didn't get Sydney Hunter (Though I want it ,...But I sponsored IGG for Justice Beaver for SNES...Also Collectorvision (Gamester81)... I just think these things take more time than anyone realizes...I get occasional updates, and honestly as long as they're making progress and haven't forgotten about me, I'm happy...

What a bummer! (I'm going to See Star Wars tonight too)...I vote we go back to talking about crazy cats...
