  1. The issue is that Twin Galaxies made it easy to cheat especially in the past, and I doubt anything short of limiting scores to One machine in a public event, watched around the clock will ever resolve these issues. Don't like it but it does happen, always got to prepared to handled someone who doesn't play by the rule's
  2. Twinkle Stars is probably the most underrated Neo Geo Game
  3. Same reason some people cheat at Call of Duty, they personally like Trolling people. Not like Billy Mitchell Cheated with any real technical means like altering the roms in the PCB, he just plug in a Mame Plug and Play, and lied about it .... Real Crime is that the crowd must of been tone death or lying with him, to listen to a early Mame Rom of Donkey Kong ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Lying is a skill like any other. And if you want to maintain a level of excellence, you have to practice constantly." - Garak, to Worf (DS9: "In Purgatory's Shadow")
  4. Who cares, gaming is about having fun and not awards.... Billy Mitchell was just the troll for the people that believe the opposite.
  5. Shock Troopers 2 underrated??? As peeps usually rate it just below Metal Slug series. Shock Troopers 1 i could understand for some reason people just forget about it... PS Ninja Combat is just crazy fun
  6. Believe the worst issues is phone game mechanics being used in triple AAA games, such as buy X to get a instant advantage, or that someone wants to buy a 40-90 dollar game for a baseline freemium game With smartphone and tablet gaming having $46.1 billion or almost half the game industry profit I believe the issue will just get worst.....
  7. Wouldn't say that arcades was the issues for Neo Geo Unsuccessful run as a home system. There was a flood of systems that could play arcade perfect since Neo Geo and Capcom Play were based around Sharp 68000 Gaming computers of 1987. Competitive fighting games mainly fell out of flavor mostly do to a change in taste much like Pac Man craze for puzzlegames, and Space invaders craze for shootem ups ended and left a arcade crash.
  8. Winkawaks is what i use for Neo geo/ CapcomPlay games Demul for Atomiswave Games
  9. Right now I'm working in the IT section of a recycling company, basically almost all electronics we test before we cannibalized as quite a lot of electronics can be parted and resold. Though we would take the whole machine and do it off of a client property, and would property scrap the CRT monitor's for them since they are hazardous waste as they contain materials that harmful to both humans and the environment as its apart of Ethical and Professional Conduct
  10. So hope that Hardcore gaming goes back to their old site format as it had lots of reviews on arcade games, and their legacy site look like crap for example their Fatal Fury Game https://hg101.kontek.net/fatalfury/fatalfury3.htm
  11. Only thing i really disliked with this game (Fatal Fury 1) is the controls, especially Jumping as it makes me feel like I'm on the moon, and how they made place shifting difficult. Was so glad that they fixed in FF II.
  12. Its a Internal document that was given to the development teams ,was on hardmvs believe this link should work. https://web.archive.org/web/20170202223812/http://hardmvs.com/manuals/NeoGeoProgrammersGuide.pdf
  13. Did Power Instinct rights(Gōketsuji Ichizoku) revert back to Atlus?
  14. Fatal Fury 2 is pretty underrated game; I give the Fatal Fury team credit for making massive changes to each of the games in the series, as this series doesn't feel Madden like.
  15. The Psikyo interviews are pretty good also http://shmuplations.com/psikyo/ Since they are missing a few details the previous company they are talking about is Video System which did AeroFighter series, they left do to Neo Geo, as they didn't want to do a Horizontal monitor shooter. Psikyo did make a 1945 for the Neo Geo after Strikers 1945 II, using some assets from Striker 1945 I and 1945 II. Also why Sengoku Ace(Samurai Aces) , Gunbird and Dragon Blaze are considered the spiritually successors of the Aerofighter series as they have the same design team and some of the game assets. Those Games are Non Neo Geo.
  16. Believe the big issue is that SD carts need the indie developers to support them or some other attracting force, such as adding a genesis VPU if they want to add more of them to the market
  17. shmuplations.com is a repository of Japanese game developer translations Neo Geo and SNK http://shmuplations.com/athena/ http://shmuplations.com/metalslug/ http://shmuplations.com/snkorigins/ http://shmuplations.com/realboutfatalfury/ http://shmuplations.com/aof2/ http://shmuplations.com/aof/ http://shmuplations.com/kof94/ http://shmuplations.com/twinklestarsprites/
  18. Have you tried 1945, as it basically 1942 with Mecha Added in?
  19. Personally this game feels like 1943 Midway forced onto a horizontal monitor with no adjustment from it Vertical Vertical original play-style. This means its difficult since their is a lot less room on the monitor top and bottom and you will have limited reaction time from both enemy coming from the bottom of the screen, which generally doesn't happen on horizontal vertical games, and planes coming from the top especially since the plane is slow Game feel Mega mannish, not the worst shootem up but it around average
  20. There is other differences outside of the cartage shape between MVS and AES, the pinouts are totally different, and a few other things https://wiki.neogeodev.org/index.php?title=MVS_cartridge_pinout https://wiki.neogeodev.org/index.php?title=AES_cartridge_pinout
  21. Personally i don't think this stuff is the main Neo Geo Development kit, as it probably was a few interface cards for something like a Sharp 68000X computer, as it would be painful to reflash eeprom and install and uninstall them for each minor change especially with multiple people working on them, especially since those kits don't appear to be showing motorola assembly language, and related information such as register data.
  22. That is crazy looking, looks like it has IDE 40 pin ribbon for either a harddrive or some type of floppydrive/CD drive/motherboard Guessing it next to a 8 pin AT Power connector and connects to a 28 pin Jamma hardness Hard to tell what the rest is since it so blurry maybe composite and other interfaces on the left side
  23. It sounds like Ben Herman was the only one in NA that was actually working for SNK in North America, seen a lot of good articles on him. Since they kinda had a lack of leadership in the West once Paul Jacobs left and Tradewest , who had John Rowe (Former SNK Vice president ) do non SNK projects instead, after Paul left.
