Growing up my family got our first PC in '94. When looking at games I remember thinking, "WOW, that must be a good game, it's a megabyte."

I ended up just cutting the slot sleeve in the corners. Seems to work fine.

Are you thinking of how you could instead of firing a shell or banana peel you could hold it behind you and it would block it if someone shot a shell at you? I liked that too. You know now that I think about it, that doesn't work anymore on the Wii version does it? The Wii version is really the only other version I've played.

I have gotten several Imagic 2600 games. Does anyone else have trouble with them not fitting properly in the 7800 slot? One of them won't fit at all, and most of the others take some real persuasion to fit in. I just got a 2600 that I haven't been able to get hooked up yet, that they fit fine in.

Crap, that means I can only play 2600 games during lighting storms.

In the N64 version the blue shell is airborne and attacks you from the front. You can shoot a shell forward and if you time it just right you can shoot the blue shell and keep it from hitting you.

There's that one. The one I really like is, when you're in first place, and a first place shell comes after you, if you launch a shell you have, at just the right time it will block the first place shell and keep it from hitting you.

I like the N64 Mario Kart. There's a trick or two you can use in it that I haven't seen work in other versions.

I got a 2600 Jr. that didn't come with a power adapter. I may very well have a power adapter sitting around here that will work, but the specs are not labeled on the Jr. What are the adapter specs needed for it? And the tip specs and everything?

I love Combat. At least if I had someone decent to play against.

What size screens does everyone play on? My TV is a 32". I wonder if it's not really noticeable on smaller screens and is noticeable because it's a larger TV?

You said you haven't recapped the whole thing? Maybe it's somehow a bad cap that you haven't replaced yet? But I'm not knowledgeable with the electronics really so I don't even know if that's a possible cause.

It jumps up and down by maybe 1/8" on this setup.

I'm playing on a regular definition 4:3 CRT.

I never really played Asteroids as a kid. I recently got three copies of Asteroids. On all of them while playing the screen jumps up and down some, which is distracting. No other game does this that I've seen. Is that normal for Asteroids? I guess since all three copies do it than the answer is that it is? I'm just a bit surprised they released the game like that.

What are the 10 2600 that are the most fun for you?

I would say $200 is probably way too much even if they aren't as common. I don't think people are necessarily trying to find that variation of the controller. The demand is probably not great. That's a cool variation though. Collectible some in my mind. It's hard to find stuff searching on this forum. I guess the language and terminology needed is subjective. Making it hard to narrow down search results and find exactly what you're looking for.

You mean isopropyl? That's what rubbing alcohol usually is. Is there another type called isopropanol? Edit: I guess I could have googled first. Isopropanol is just another name for isopropyl?

I thought of denatured alcohol too and looked it up. It sounds like it's basically the same as Everclear, ethanol alcohol except with other additives for various reasons such as color and nasty taste. I wonder with the additives if it would not be as good because it's less pure more likely to leave residue?
