  1. The key seems to be persistence, at least in my eyes. I've been hitting the local thrifts a couple times a week for the past several years as well as picking one of the multiple flea markets in the Cincinnati area to hit a couple weekends a month. I've had varying degrees of success, with my best local score being a Tooth Protectors with manual that I found a few years ago. My best luck for Atari stuff has mostly been hitting the outdoor setups at the flea markets during the summer months, as well as hitting town-wide yard sales. At this point, the thrifts tend to get picked bare very quickly.
  2. I use rubber cement, but I've also seen others use Elmer's School Glue to varying degrees of success. The big problem with rubber cement is the potential for glue spotting if you go hog wild with it.
  3. I'm going to be in Toledo the weekend of the 6th. I seriously doubt the gathering will happen that weekend, with it being the Super Bowl and all... I'm sure I'll see some of you at MGC, though. I'm planning on selling again at the Beef Min Games booth and participating in general asshattery and drunken behavior.
  4. I'm in Cincy. I've never really had any problem with competition as far as I know. Sadly, the Atari stuff in town has all but dried up and most of the flea market dealers that have/had decent loot in the past have "gotten smart" and started basing their prices off of 10 year old DP guides. Cincy has more than its fair share of game stores, though. The ones I know of are as follows: CD/Game Exchange: One is on Short Vine in Corryville and the other is on Wall St. in Norwood (Vine St. is great for having your car broken into) Game City 360: Newport on the Levee (Used to be a small indie chain, of which the Newport location is the only one standing) Games Galore: Northgate Mall Game Swap: Eastgate, Florence, Tri-County Malls as well as one in the east suburbs of Dayton in Kettering on Dorothy Ln. The Game Place: Withamsville on SR125 Game Insane: US50 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana Play n Trade: Milford Pkwy. in Milford
  5. I would have a very hard time selling my Tooth Protectors with manual for less than $150, although $175 would be the ideal selling price for myself. Fortunately for myself, I was able to find TP w/manual in a boxed Atari lot at Goodwill a few years ago.
  6. I forgot to mention these when I first started this thread, but I have a decent set of Atari mobiles that I'd like to complete eventually.
  7. The way the 2600 market is tanking, people are going to be afraid to sell anything of value pretty soon.
  8. I was the high bidder on that RT1. That's been the 4th or 5th time he's listed it with a reserve that hasn't been met. At some point he's either going to have to drop the reserve or keep it.
  9. Most casual gamers are more interested in the Atari porno library than the other 99% of the library.
  10. Finally, a use for a 2600 Defender cartridge other than inducing an epileptic seizure with its flicker.
  11. 28.01 I think I have to agree that 27.51 is suspect as well. I can see someone approaching 27.90 or so, but I honestly don't think it is possible to break it. Someone call Bob Whitehead and get him in here .
  12. 28.06 I managed to trim a little bit off of my earlier time... still not good enough for 3rd . I ended up with 28.06 multiple times this morning, so I don't know if I'll be able to beat myself or not at this point.
  13. Tell him to use this as an opportunity to tell his child(ren) that there is no Santa Claus. Also, F that guy for A) pulling a switch and scam on you, and B) using his kid(s) as an example.
  14. 28.22 I'm hoping to better that and at least win myself an imaginary Activision patch .
  15. Hello, I've broken the 550 cart mark on my 2600 collection and I'm looking to expand that number a little bit more before throwing in the towel. Here is a list of mostly "easy" stuff I'm still looking for that I've not yet bought for some reason or another, typically because shipping is more than the cart is worth Atlantis - Blue Label Basic Math - Atari Text Label Blackjack - Atari Picture Label Canyon Bomber - Sears Picture Label Deadly Duck Fun With Numbers - Atari Picture Label Gunslinger - Sears Picture Label Infiltrate - Standard Label Lost Luggage - Standard Label Othello - Atari Text Label Race - Sears Picture Label Space Cavern - Apollo Blue Label Thunderground Tunnel Runner Warplock I am aware that some of these games are readily available on ebay, but I would rather have an opportunity to buy them here en masse if at all possible, so I'm asking that you not send links to ebay auctions. The Atari and Sears carts I still need are the high priority out of the list, so if you have copies with nice labels that you want to sell for a fair price, I'm liable to take them off of your hands. Below is a list of what I currently have to trade. It's mostly common fodder, but there might be something in there that someone would want to trade for. Air Raiders – INTV Air Raiders – M Network Air-Sea Battle – Atari Text Label Alpha Beam With Ernie Asteroids – Atari Picture Label Baseball – INTV Baseball – Sears Text Label Basketball – Atari Corp. Picture Label Basketball – Atari Picture Label Basketball – Atari Text Label Crossbow – Red Label Demons to Diamonds – Sears Picture Label Donkey Kong – Coleco Entombed – Bevel Cartridge GI Joe – Standard Label Haunted House – Atari HERO (label damage) Jr. Pac Man Krull – Atari Silver Label Mario Bros. - Atari Corp. Math Gran Prix – Atari Picture Label Miniature Golf – Atari Text Label Moonsweeper – Silver Label Mountain King Oink Phaser Patrol – cassette only Pitfall – Picture Label Q-Bert – Parker Bros. Race – Text Label Realsports Boxing Realsports Volleyball – Atari Silver Label Riddle of the Sphinx Sprintmaster Star Raiders – Sears Picture Label Star Trek SOS Steeplechase – Text Label Stellar Track – Text Label Title Match Pro Wrestling (label wear) Track and Field (label wear) Video Olympics – Atari Picture Label Warlords – Atari Wizard of Wor

I don't have anything on hand, but I can take a look at the indie game store in the mall later today. I imagine a couple of said games on your list might be lurking amongst their games out on the shelf. I'll let you know if I find anything.

    WTB Commodore 64

I have a CIB Commodore 64, a CIB 1541, and a CIB Datasette as well as an XE1541 cable, and a few loose disks with pirated software on them. I also have A/V and Chroma/Luma cables for the C64 as well. Everything is in good condition, although the serial number on the C64 and its box don't match, and I seem to remember having an occasional issue with the A key which is probably just a piece of debris under the key as the system is in nice shape. The 1541 has some yellowing towards the back of the unit as well IIRC. I'd probably sell the lot for $50 + shipping if you are interested. To be honest, I'd like to have the space back in my closet .

Why would I want to ruin a perfectly good TSB cart signed by TSB Jesus himself? I looked through my bin of wounded warriors and didn't find anything that can help you unless you can make use of Baseball Simulator 1000 or Dragon Warrior. Just in case you can, I opened them up and checked both batteries with a multitester and got a 3V reading off of both. Let me know if you need them.
  19. Just saw this on Craigslist a little bit ago. Seems like a decent enough deal if one was buying it for themselves. I don't have enough interest in Atari computers to inquire about it. Here's the link: http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/vgm/1515908882.html
  20. I wouldn't doubt it. Ebay doesn't seem to care about shilling, as it ultimately makes them money in the end. Masking of bidder names almost seems as if they're encouraging it, inadvertently or not.
  21. I plan on opening my bin of controllers tomorrow and untangling and testing everything. I've got 2600 sticks in there with orange piping, 2600 "Vader" sticks, Video Touch Pads, OEM and Gemini paddles, a couple driving controllers, a few 2600 power supplies, a 7800 power supply, a pair of 7800 controllers, and a brick on a leash... dunno if it is for an Atari 8-bit or a 5200. If I price this stuff decent, will you take it off my hands?
  22. What is that loose Activision-style cart in with your 7800 stuff, next to the Nuon DVDs? Homebrew/Hack of some kind?
  23. A 2600 clone with a cartridge port would be a customer service nightmare... Could you imagine all of the people calling in complaining because their 30 year old copy of Combat won't work? Or better yet, people breaking the damn things by trying to force 7800 carts or the like into it.
  24. That's one of the drawback to the Heckendorn mod. I've used both the Paul Slocum Testcart and the Videosoft Color Bar Generator on my 2600 with the Heckendorn mod and have never been able to nail the color 100%. The mod also has a lot of issues with dot crawl, but for $5 in parts it is pretty hard to beat. May I suggest you swap that mod out with Longhorn Engineer's mod kit? It is $40 I believe, and pretty damn hard to beat.
