  1. Unrelated note. I was at the flea yesterday and a junk dealer had a pretty looking 7800 deck with a clean bezel and a nice set of controllers, but no power brick. He wanted $15 for it, to which I offered $10. He wouldn't split the difference so I walked away from it. Might try again next weekend :).

  2. I did some math on it and even without negotiation taken into effect you both made out on the deal. It's especially nice for the buyer to be able to knock out 83.3% of the Starpath library in one shot without being nickeled and dimed to death on shipping buying them individually. The real shame about Starpath stuff is the fact that it is so hard to find in the wild. I've found a few cassettes over the years, and I think only once have I found one actually categorized in with 2600 games. The other times were always mixed in with audio cassettes at thrifts over the years.

  3. Seeing as there is a set of Euro pads in there and Seamonster being the only real high profile cart in that lot, I can't help but think that it might be PAL. At least that's what I'm telling myself as I sip on this glass of rye and try to forget about it...

  4. I had the pleasure of playing with a non-functional mockup of the Flashback portable at MGC earlier in the year and was even able to spend a decent amount of time talking with Marty about it. Sadly, it sounds like the only thing holding it back from the production line is a financeer, which is a terrible shame. The looks and feel of the unit felt right, as well as the proposed price point and the features to be implemented in it. From what I've seen, what is left of the Flashback 2s have sold really well around here at Kroger stores and anywhere else that managed to secure inventory this holiday season. Maybe that could persuade potential money men?

  5. The bulk of the games are in Sterilite 28 quart totes. I stopped using them after they redesigned them a couple years ago making them worthless for holding atari cartridges. I've since switched to Iris Buckle-Up Boxes from Office Max. They only hold 88 carts as opposed to the 96 that the old Sterilite containers hold, but they beat a blank.

  6. I'll be there again this year. I'll help man the Beef Min Games booth although I'm not actively selling this time. I didn't devote nearly enough time to being a drunk asshole last year as I should've on account of being a vendor.

  7. This is what I have after 7 years of hard work, with some 6 month gaps in there when life got in the way.

Feel free to laugh at it or otherwise critique it, as I'm sure it pales in comparison to many of your collections. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into amassing said collection and I'm fairly pleased with the result. There are a couple rarities in there that managed to hide from the camera, such as a Tooth Protectors and a Xonox-style Boing! Everything is NTSC with the exception of an Atari 32 in 1 and a PAL picture label copy of Miniature Golf. I think there are 550-ish 2600 carts there and I'm a few boxes and manuals short of a CIB 7800 set. My main goal at this point on the 2600 end is to get the remaining Sears labels that I need such as picture label Canyon Bomber, Gunslinger, Race, etc...
