I managed to finally get a silver label Asteroids recently. I'm still in dire need of a Sears picture label Asteroids, though. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was curious as to whether or not Mike is going to do a CCAG 2009.5 this year. I really wanted to make the May show but had a kegger here in Cincy to attend the same day. I set up at the October show last year and had a blast drinking $2 beers from the VFW and being a loud, drunken asshole much like I was while I was set up selling at MGC

There's a certain degree of satisfaction to be had by hitting a deadbeat bidder with a negative, so take that as you will. Maybe I presented my case the wrong way, I dunno. Regardless, the seller is completely at the mercy of the buyer now in my opinion. Also, Ebay recently did away with their live chat recently so now it is difficult/impossible to talk to a customer service representative over the web and calling their hotline is an exercise in futility. Kinda makes you wonder what they're doing with the proceeds from their miscellaneous fee hikes...

Holy hell, how did you find my address so quick!? In all seriousness, I hope you can get this straightened out seeing as ebay has completely and utterly neutered sellers in the past year. That's one of the reasons you saw me selling my dupes and what have you at MGC for chump change, to avoid ebay at all costs .

Just to let everyone know, I got the cart in the mail today and it came exactly as pictured and described. I couldn't be happier with it, and I actually took the time to learn how to play the damned game finally.

One criticism of the Powerpak is that it doesn't auto-sort folders/roms once they are placed on the CF card. You have to add folders/items to the card in the order that you want them to be displayed on the menu on the cartridge itself. I also think I read that the Powerpak doesn't like to read cards smaller than 256MB as well, which shouldn't be an issue since CF cards are dirt cheap. I use a Sandisk Ultra II 2GB card that I got off of Amazon for like $10.

Just keep in mind that the first production run of Powerpaks had problems that required a retrofit to said carts IIRC. I'd just buy a new one, so that your name can be tied to it directly in case you ever have to send it back to bunnyboy for a boot rom update or a future repair, etc. By the way, I bought myself a Powerpak for Christmas and I absolutely love it thus far.

I figured I'd give this one more shot before letting it fall to the back... bump

A great buy for someone.... (Tron Arcade $100)
Carey85 replied to EricDeLee's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I had one of my friends in Detroit send multiple inquiries on it as well, with no replies. Must have been a sick joke by the owner. -
I'd imagine that they are referring to bit-rot. Magnetic media, CDs/LDs/DVDs, EPROMs, and even flash memory will degrade/leak given enough time and/or the right conditions.

Much Closer To Completing My 2600 Collection Than I Thought...
Carey85 replied to Tempest's topic in Atari 2600
Yeah, I was the schmuck who came in second on that auction, I thought for sure $125 in the closing minute would be enough to snag it. I was wrong, unfortunately. -
I'm tired of looking for these damn variants in the wild, I've yet to find either of them in several years worth of thrifting, yard sales, and flea markets so the time has come to ask the community for help. I want the cartridges loose in presentable condition with both labels affixed, and hope to obtain them without getting my pants pulled down over the price. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

That was one of the off things about the show saturday... The very first items I sold saturday morning at the show were a stack of TS1000 cassettes and a TS1000 RAM module, damndest thing I expected to sell first hand...

Eh, I was home on a day off yesterday and got a wild hair up my ass and decided that I wanted to buy that copy of Quadrun, as it is the last silver label 2600 cart that I needed save for Asteroids and Hangman. It was a large hole in my collection that needed to be filled, and I somehow feel more complete knowing that it will be in a bin with its Atari Club brethren now... Of course, I will be mad as hell in a couple years when the same cart is selling for $50, but it's a chance I was willing to take.

What is wrong with the Goat Store?!
Carey85 replied to atari2600land's topic in Gaming Publications and Websites
Yeah, Goat Store was present at the show. I'd honestly chalk the slow response time up to their preparations to the show, I'm sure it's nothing typical or intentional on their part. -
I am now one of the owners of what seems like a dozen or more Quadrun carts that neonihonsei has sold on ebay in the past year. I ended up getting a relatively nice copy for $167.50, which isn't a horrible price but thenagain I'm a cheap bastard. Also seems to look like one of the nicer copies that he's sold and is presentable enough to find a home in my collection. Here's the link in case anyone missed it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=150333701394 Some of the money I made at MGC last weekend is paying for this, so this is more than a nice trade

Ok, I just got home from WI last night and this is the first time I've had time to peruse the forums since last thursday. I did better in sales than I could've possibly imagined and met some very fine folk from the AA crowd, thegoldenax and Tempest included. I exceeded every expectation I had of the show as my first year being a vendor instead of a buyer, I had more fun sitting behind my table BS'ing and being a troublemaker than I've had in any of the years past. Thank you all for making this the best MGC ever for me! Beef Min Games 4-evar

Louisville is only a couple hours away for me as well, unfortunately the aforementioned is irrelevant to my interests. I'm dumping my NES collection and I'm pretty well set on Atari. To be honest, I really think $1000 is a ripoff. I'd do $500 max, but I'm a lowballing jerkface...

I'm looking to wrap up my 7800 set while at MGC. I need about 14 boxes, including all of the Absolute/Activision stuff and Atari stuff like Basketbrawl, Xenophobe, Planet Smashers, Mario Bros., Summer Games, etc... If you happen to bring any of aforementioned boxes along, you can bring them to the Beef Min Games booth and hopefully we can cut a deal

Perkar from DP and myself are setting up as Beef Min Games at DP. On my end I'm planning on bringing a bunch of nice assorted Genesis hardware, ~150 NES games, and a bunch of other assorted gaming stuff that I want to pare down. I'm looking to do some wheeling and dealing, especially on 2600 stuff I don't already have. IIRC Ianoid ended up with a fair chunk of my money last year

Mint Condition 2600/7800 carts sealed $5 each
Carey85 replied to SalemFrost7800's topic in Atari 2600
I indeed used to go to Big Lots and plonk down my entire $5 a week allowance and then some on 2600 and 7800 games when they used to have mounds of them on display circa 1992-93. Many of the chain dollar stores around here had NOS 7800 games in dump bins at the time for $1. Fast forward to 2009, I'm still seeing sealed 2600 and 7800 games with Big Lots stickers on them here and there at fleas and thrifts, seems like the Cincy area had a bunch of late Atari inventory dumped here. -
I'm still toying with the notion of going to the may CCAG show. I'm going to be vending at MGC and will probably spend a shit-ton of money while there so the drive to Cleveland might not be an option... I'll definitely be at the October show, though.

I dunno, I sold a Nelsonic Pac-Man watch in 2005 or so for $125 on ebay. It was the earlier model with the metal joystick knub as opposed to button keys. I bought it at a yard sale for $.25 with the intention of cutting the band off and carrying it in my pocket as a timepiece, I did research on it beforehand and found out of its value. I had to sell it to pay the $109 speeding ticket I received between the yard sale and home...

Yup, it uses 9.5VDC @ 1.5A same as the Sega CDX. A lot of people make the mistake of using the Genny II power supply which does 10VDC @ .85A, which starves the CDX and X'eye for power.
