I'm looking to obtain a copy of Gyruss for 2600. A somewhat common cart, but I'm tired of looking for it in the wild, and want my own copy. Cart and label need to be in good condition, and a picture would be appreciated. I can pay with Paypal, and have had successful transactions here in the past. PM me with a reasonable price.

I found a copy of Tooth Protectors with instructions in an Atari 2600 lot with 25 games at Goodwill yesterday... Had to pay $30 to walk out the door with the goods, though

I came across a joystick in a 2600 lot yesterday, unlike one I've ever seen before. It's identical to a CX40 joystick, aside from the fact that the orange paint around the base is slightly off, the action on the joystick is sloppy as opposed to a CX40 joystick, and the controller connector is slightly different, with the letters "AMP" on the connector. It's obvious that it's an aftermarket stick, but why go to such great heights to copy Atari's design. I've never come across one of these sticks in my years of collecting, so I was wondering if this particular stick is rare.

I bought a VCS with 25 games today for $30, all with instructions. More than I wanted to pay, but I couldn't pass up on the copy of Tooth Protectors that was in there begging to be bought...

I'll gladly be attending Midwest Classic this weekend. I hope to catch up with some of the folks I met here in Cincinnati a couple months ago, and get to meet some more people as well. See you there.
-
I'll probably drop by the convention center friday after I get off work to see what's going on, and maybe meet a few people and see what goodies are in store for the show. Should be good, hope to see you there...

I'll be there again this year, should be good.

Good news! The Cinciclassic web page has been updated as well. I guess that counts as an official announcement. That room looks like they will have much more space than they had in 2002. Now they do need to promote the hell out of it, since it's been so long. I'll be there of course.
Well, there's a little over 6 months to prepare, so I think it'll make for one hell of a show. I think I'm going to pitch in and help with the preparation of the show this year, should have the free time.

I have:
Super Star Soldier (hucard and sleeve only)
Victory Run (hucard only)
Keith Courage (hucard only)
Final Lap Twin (hucard only)
Granted, aside from Super Star Soldier, they're uber common, but I figured I'd lay them out on the table.

Damn... that would've been enough Combat cartridges to build a lovely coffee table with.
-
I would venture to say you'd have better luck finding Rockman MegaWorld. Same exact game, only in japanese. Upside is, the JAP version is NTSC, so there shouldn't be any display issues.
-
Would you still go to Cinciclassic if it were in Walnut Hills or Over-The-Rhine? I get to go to night school at the 212 Hall in Walnut Hills twice a week and risk getting knifed/shot but eh, it's a good place for a con

Nice to see you aren't reselling it. It was an extra copy, so I didn't need it.
-
It would help if you let people know if it is the original release or the Greatest Hits re-release. $35 is a little high if it is the Greatest Hits version...

Well, the organizers are wanting to use space on the grounds, not actually in the club. So long as it's climate controlled, it's all good.
-
I dunno, if it does go down this year, it will be hard to organize at it will essentially be like starting over. The last CinciClassic was in 2002, and mum's been the word on another since then. I live in Cincy, and would love nothing more that to have a large scale local gaming con. Also, Jillian's is an A+ location for this event, as Covington, KY is a very fun town, Main Strasse is great on the weekends.

Yeah, I'm hoping for a bidding war. I'm expecting it to finish in the $200-$300 watch. If it went for $300, I'd be making a 1200% profit.
-
Man, you missed out. I sold a CIB copy to mcgrail the other day. I'd had a running list in the marketplace. Sold it for $12.

Take a gander at it, and be a cool d00d and bid

Newbie ebayers paying insane amounts for stuff is nothing new. I was thinking about selling my Nelsonic PacMan watch and I checked the completed listings, there's a guy paying about $300 a pop for them from multiple sellers. Either he really likes watches or it's a multiseller shilling conspiracy...
-
Whatever hasn't sold by tomorrow gets ebayed.

He can probably get by with just the cable if he has any soldering skills. The four pins are going to be +5v, GND, Clock, and Data. It's just a matter of finding a pinout of the four pin jack to find out what's what, or hit them with a multimeter.

I also have a bunch of 2600 red label and doubles of about 25 7800 carts, if there's anything in particular you are looking for, let me know. I also have about 60 Atari manuals lying around, including a VCS and 7800 manual.
-
List is as follows. Cartridge only unless specified. No trades, payment by money order.
2600:
Mr. Do $6
Pitfall II $5
Xenophobe - CIB, though box is ratty (SOLD)
7800:
Fatal Run - Bubble on lower front label (SOLD)
Fight Night - manual $5
Ninja Golf - MIB (SOLD)
Planet Smashers - manual (SOLD)
Water Ski (SOLD)
Kept the list short, as to keep from getting a flood of messages. MSG with reasonable offers.

I wouldn't be opposed to making the mighty trek from the east side of Cincy up to Cleveland. It indeed would also give me an excuse to make all of these commons go away...
