  1. Yeah, she was a little bit baffled that it went so high. She asked me why, so I told her just so that she wouldn't start buying up every Atari game she saw thinking it was worth its weight in gold, seeing as she told me that she's a widow that peddles in antiques for a living and sometimes hits the auction houses.

  2. I think I believe that. All's fair in love and ebay... and the auction has ended and I've paid, so it is done. What I'm most happy about is that I'm not going to see this cart on ebay again this time next week with ULTRA RARE in the listing and being sold for 3x what it's worth, that's the biggest victory to me.

  3. I ended up nabbing this lot earlier tonight that happened to have a Lochjaw cart tucked away in it. I confirmed with the seller that the cartridge does have an end label after getting nauseated by the fact that I might've just bought a Lochjaw without an end label... which would've led to one hell of a case of buyer's remorse and/or a drinking binge. Despite being sort of hidden and not being spoiled by anyone that came across it, isn't this pretty cheap for a Lochjaw cart? I've seen some that looked like they'd been digested by the Sarlacc sell for more in recent memory.

  4. Chad is cheating himself out of a lot of money by not doing another run of CC2s. Personally, I think he hasn't done it on account of redass over not selling all of his Intellivision Cuttle Carts as of yet. Selling an Intellivision multicart is like trying to sell someone a turd sandwich, though. I don't own a CC2 and I think it's kind of silly to pay the value of a loose 7800 set for one. That being said, I still hope you get a good price for yours, lucifershalo. Just trying to vent a little bit, not crap on your thread :).

  5. I finished pricing all of my MGC wares tonight. Sadly, I don't have 1/4th the stuff to sell this year as I did last year, at least it doesn't feel like it. I'm going to have a dump bin of 2600/7800 dupes with some uncommon stuff thrown in, all priced to sell. There's also a lot of donor cart material in there and is priced as such. Probably going to have 40-ish PS1 games to sell, most of which are common and priced at $2-$3. Got a stack of mostly decent N64 games to get rid of as well. Also going to be selling some quality NES, SNES, and Saturn stuff though I don't have much in the way of quantity of it. All in all it is probably only enough gear to fill half of a table, but the thrifts haven't been as good to me as I'd have liked in the past year, so that's what I've got. I'll be happy if this stuff finances my beer money and bar food over the weekend :).

  6. In all of this mass sell off I'm surprised that someone has not tried to get Big Lots to buy in bulk again like they did in the 90's. Every time I ask at a Big Lots with my fond memories no matter the location, they remember and say they wish they had them again too. Just contact their corporate offices you can google the info. They do buy lots as small as 1,000 items.

Funny that you mention Big Lots. Finding red label 2600 games and common 7800 games around here is a breeze as a result of the large number of Big Lots stores in this area circa 1992. I was 7 at the time and was given a $5 weekly allowance, of which all of it went towards $1 Atari games at Big Lots. I'd have to check couch cushions or vents for the change necessary for the sales tax... Ah, the good old days :).

  7. I received my carts in the mail today and aside from the actiplaque on the labels, the carts look to be unused. I don't see any wear to the cartridges or to the contacts. One interesting thing that I noticed was that both cartridges have the same manufacturing defect on the backside of the cart near the cartridge port, which looks like there was a couple of small gouges or impressions in the molds that transferred over to the cartridges.

  8. $30 would be top dollar for one with a nice label, IMO. Almost all of the Joyboards I've ever come across have had lousy labels that were peeling at the corners. I actually need a replacement decal for the Joyboard that I currently own, but I don't know of anyone that would willingly make one right off hand.

  9. The key seems to be persistence, at least in my eyes. I've been hitting the local thrifts a couple times a week for the past several years as well as picking one of the multiple flea markets in the Cincinnati area to hit a couple weekends a month. I've had varying degrees of success, with my best local score being a Tooth Protectors with manual that I found a few years ago. My best luck for Atari stuff has mostly been hitting the outdoor setups at the flea markets during the summer months, as well as hitting town-wide yard sales. At this point, the thrifts tend to get picked bare very quickly.
