  1. i had tacos today for the first time in several years. you're all monsters also i did this for some reason https://rainbowcemetery.itch.io/tacolife
  2. would've been cute if it was like a fancy lookin genesis 3 button controller
  3. https://www.amazon.com/EasySMX-Wireless-Controller-Vibration-Portable/dp/B01KV7B2CG is probably the exact one. not that it matters, i'm sure they just wanted a prop controller for a photo
  4. i guess i should say, what they might potentially claim to intend to put in the box
  5. i bought an ouya with the intent to develop for it but never did. they tried to court exclusives a little but i don't think they had the resources to make it very enticing. i was gonna tie that back to current atari but i feel tired thinking about it. i just wanna know what's in the box
  6. i'd be surprised if anyone here genuinely wanted this to fail. even the most optimistic person will eventually suffer from retro™ marketing fatigue though
  7. for that price i expect at least 2 speakerhats worth of tech in that box
  8. didn't find an exact match but it looks like https://www.amazon.com/Speedlink-Torid-Gamepad-Wireless-Pc/dp/B014R4E8IE
  9. i might clean it up a bit next time i'm feeling too idle
  10. give steam their 100$ and put your marketing face on.
  11. i have a sears video arcade II also and never had any problem with imagics or any other kind of cart. i guess it's not impossible something was done to it
  12. i think i exhausted most of my hope in the other threads. i dunno, basic in rom?
  13. that's a bit more limited than i was thinking of. maybe just something like a set of guidelines for a desired aesthetic and a marketplace with some quality control.
  14. i think i would like to see some platform try to create the illusion of uniqueness through self-imposed limitations. it's probably a dumb idea but it would at least be a little interesting
  15. having unique hardware gave stuff more personality and helped it establish an identity. maybe that could be done artificially with a strict marketplace and a dedicated development team but i don't imagine atari going that route
  16. i'll consider doing an hd remake for the ataribox in exchange for a speakerhat
  17. alright i made it myself for some reason. https://rainbowcemetery.itch.io/speakerhat sorry it ain't 2600 accurate i accept all incoming rebukes.
  18. if i'm going on the assumption that they know what the hardware is gonna be and the price point they want to hit and this marketing strategy is just to scour internet discussion for some angle on how to sell it. even with minimal resources and extreme risk aversion there are some options available. if they went thru the list of people who sent them dev emails and entice a few to make timed exclusives in exchange for say. getting access to some license they still have or some atari branded fluff they got in a bin somewhere. i dunno. i'm not sure if they'll play in the dirt with us indies or not.
  19. if they show up on kickstarter with a finished product and a reasonable pitch i'd consider it
  20. i feel like the ouyas downfall was competing directly with the play store. if it had been running something other than android maybe it could've established an identity of its own, who knows.
  21. for a corporation it comes off as just shifting the financial risk onto the consumer base. it's only natural to share their lack of confidence
  22. i wouldn't say the cynicism is unfounded, but i'd be happier if it doesn't turn out to be a total disaster
  23. i'd say the chances of it being another generic arm media crate are high. also they should call it the 10400.
