Ha. That's funny. There must be some weird voodoo attached to me and buying Sega Products. I remember begging my parents for a Game Gear when I was a kid and they finally got me one. And then the next day they had second thoughts and took it back to target. They couldn't justify me having two portable systems. Also I got ripped off on a Sega Genesis (or an attempt at getting a Sega Genesis) at a pawn shop. Long story. I've usually had good experiences with Ebay the Sega Genesis debacle is becoming my last experience with ebay.
I feel like I am turning into my dad. I can't count how many times he would pick up video games or toys or whatever off the ground and say, "Pieces of Plastic Junk!" "Chinese Junk!" (Chinese meaning whatever Asian country made it.)
I also use JJGames when shopping for console. Everything is tested an garanteed to work. Bought a NES, SNES and Mod 1 Gen for less than they go on ebay.

Oh no, nothing like that- at worst it would mean the previous owner played a lot of Jak X Combat Racing, or had a young relative who didn't know not to take out cards while being saved.
Back in 2005, Sony put out a demo disc with a glitch that would reformat the memory cards plugged into the PS2 while it was being played. I remember back when it happened, some people online wondered if you could fix corrupt data on a memory card with the glitch. I got the demo last year, but I've yet to find a corrupted card to test the theory with!
Ah OK! I'll let you know if the card as some of those files.

While I'm sure you picked a good seller... if that memory card has any undeletable corrupt data on it- let me know. I'm looking for one of those

??? What would that mean? Softmod, hack or something more nefarious?

One thing I hate with online shopping... The waiting for the stuff to arrive.
Maybe if I could buy from ACME like bugs bunny and wile e. Coyote does... Really fast delivery!

Shipping back is on the seller's dime if he was less than honest in his description. I bought what I thought was an Atari 520STFm from a guy in greece last month. His listing was about a 520STFm. When I received it I notice that the modulator jack was missing. The hole was there but no jack. I reached the guy via email and he admited that he had switched the mobo for an STF one. I filed a complaint with ebay and the told me that the guy had 3 days to send me a return shipping label or a full refund. After 3 days I received a full refund from the guy instead. I still have that 520STF laying around but used the money to get an Upgraded 520STE instead.I would say you are correct with the cheap feel of the Sega stuff vs the Nintendo stuff. I thought the same thing, but the consoles themselves just don't feel vry sturdy. I baby mine. The controllers lose their resistence quicker tham most pads, especially later made ones. Squeaky buttons are quite normal for the original pads. The Master System is the same...easily scratched, mostly made in China.
I had a new old stick MS game pad arrive looking like new but the 2 button didn't work. Tried to open it up but nothing to be done. Got a replacement.
People love to complain about aspects od ebay but as a buyer?...you have a pot of options. Been buying for well iver a decade and so far no real issues. Paypal always covers me and the 100% Ebay Guarantee is pretty comprehensive.
Your best bet in this case is to request a partial refund for the broken controller, if you are ok with the rest of the system. The biggest issue I have had are sellers who mark their stuff as in excellent condition when really it's not. Return shipping is usually in your own dime so that's something to consider.

Got a fat PS2 (tested/working) on ebay with all the trimings for $25 on ebay.
Also come with an 8mb card and the "yourself" personal training "game"...
Shipping cost more than the console...

I think you forgot the price...

The euro megadrive have rgb on the video out for use with a scart cable. I wonder if the NA have it too? If the do, a scart cable and a scart to hdmi could give us the best out of the model 1..

I bought the following:
* One NES console with Zelda I and II, legacy of the wizard
* One SNES console with Eye of the Beholder, Zelda Link to the Past
* ghoul'n ghost for Sega Genesis
* 20 NES cart dust covers
* 60 to 72 pin adapter for NES
* svideo mod kit from Console5 for my model 1.
I bought the console from JJGames instead of ebay for a change.
Now I've got to dust off my crt tv...

Bought it four converting to and fro games from floppies. It's not my cup of tea and I prefer cart based system more and more. Let just say that I getting older and want a hobby less complicated.
The device sells for 129 euro and I bought a 3.5" drive that is on the compatibilities list for 25 euro.
The kit is complete, including cables & psu. You have to download the software from their site.
I would prefer a trade for one of the following:
* NES games lot of similar value (max one sport title)
* SNES games lot of similar value (max one sport title)
* Sega Genesis lot of similar value (max one sport title)
Games can be common, loosed, boxed but the label must be good.
If you intend to buy, then i'll let it go for $90Cad paypal gifted and shipped.
I'll pay shipping to me in case of a trade.

S-video doesn't exist on the model 2 either. ALL models of the Genesis and MD by extension have to be modded for S-video. Very easy to do for the most part and if you remove the RF modulator, then you can mount the s-video through the opening that the RF out used. But you would require a washer or something to hold it because the opening is just a bit too large for most s-video panel jacks. Could also enlarge the opening where the channel select switch is on the back of the model 1 to add your s-video jack there as well.
While it is always fun to make everything yourself, this is the easiest and overall cheapest solution I use:
https://console5.com/store/cxa1145-s-video-and-composite-video-mod-pcb.html
In that link you can buy a premade PCB for the components, plus the components, plus jacks and hookup wire if needed. I like that Console5 did this on this particular item in that you can only order exactly what you might need.
Thanks! Exactly what I needed. Ordered one.

Doesn't exist. To get S-Video out of a Model 1 Genesis, you have to mod it. The port on the back only provides Composite or RGB.
Ah ok.
I'll look into that mod or trade it for a model 2.

Hi,
Dusting of my old console and I'm wondering if there's a s-video cable available for it. I see some for Model 2, but I believe the connector is diferent...

Many do use current systems that aren't emulated. And many buy the Nintendo swag.
And since Nintendo doesn't sell carts for their old platform anymore, no one can buy new one but I sure would.
