  1. Softporn adventure could have easilly been translated to work on the TI. I had the Atari version. It was the text based ancestor of Leisure Suit Larry.
  2. Such deals always happens once I've spent all of my money on other things...
  3. I have a spare Atari and a spare TI99 (on the way) just in case. If computers age in dog years, they're pushing 210 years now
  4. I already registered for the next batch The list is at 70% presently...
  5. It's the only good way for these old workhorse, scanlines and all
  6. The picture is quite nice on my Commodore 1702 composite monitor. The F18A is a bit hard to come by and can get quite pricey on eBay.
  7. $48Cdn at Staples for a 5000 sheet box...
  8. - Atari 850 interface with psu, sio and parallel cable - Epson Actionprinter 4000 with one new ribbon - TI speech Synth - Atari split luma/chroma video cable to connect my 130XE to my 1702 monitor - Atari 130XE replacement keyboard (option and start don't work anymore on mine)
  9. I received my first today! A beige non-QI (1981 copyright). A bit dirty and the label is peeling off, but it's working great. It came with a composite monitor cable which is a good thing since the modulator forked hookup wire is cut off. I'm waiting for another one, a silver one, so I'll have a spare. I'm also waiting for my PEB to get here which will be great since I don't have any way to save whatever I do on this computer. I also received my editor/assembler NOS binder/disk/cart package. I'll also have to hunt down a parallel interface to connect the TI to my epson Actionprinter 4000 (just bougth it for $40Cdn shipped!) which will be shared with my Atari 130XE/800XL. I even got a new ribbon for it. The fan folded paper cost me more than the printer....
  10. My first computer that I could afford was the TRS-80 MC-10. I bought the 16k and tape recorder a month later. They were all in the bargain bin at my local RS store. I learned programming by typing in basic listings from books and magazines that I could find cheap. I later own a CoCo 2 that I upgraded to 64k. I mostly used it as a terminal for my early bbs days before also getting an Atari 130XE and a C64. I traded the CoCo for a C64 modem finaly. I would have enjoyed the CoCo more if I could've afforded a disk drive for it.
  11. *** i,ve decided to keep the PC and turn it into a BBS/Web server for my Atari/TI-99/4a blog. I'll ask the mod to close this thread. Thank you!
  12. I'm sorry, but I've have to ask since I'm a TI noob... What does the flap and compartment on the speech synth use for?
  13. Side port adapter -> digital wireless "modem" encrypted or not digital wireless "modem" encrypted or not -> PEB connector Again, the Arduino with a wireless shield could do the job. You could even keep your PEB in another room for less noise.
  14. I have a PCB holder on my bench, but funny enough I don't have any helping hands for wires or other stuff. Also my cheap magnifying glass/lamp combo is broken and doesn't hold its position or just fall out on the desk... I'll be getting a new one after XMas with those helping hands. Also, trying to do electronics with two cats is fun!
  15. Crazy idea for 2018: - Reverse engineer and build a new run of Myarc Geneve 9640 for the completionist who missed out :-) If the original IC are too hard to find, one or more FPGA could be used as long as there are good compatibility. Call it the Zurich if need be :-)
  16. *** Added more wanted items that I'd trade for. This machine can be the perfect emulation station and for recording video.
  17. *** Updated the wanted list for trading the PC. You can get a nice PC for the price of shipping your unwanted items, and I get what I want for the price of shipping the PC to you! Offer is valid for Canada/USA.
  18. A better idea... A generic interface to an onboard arduino. The TI99 is used to communicate with software that is hosted on the arduino using a standard API. The Arduino in turn, has whatever programs that you upload to it via USB and shields that you equip it with and those programs are designed to listen and answer the TI99 commands via the PEB bus. That way you make the plateform open not only to the electronician but also to the software devs.
  19. Ethernet adapter with resident telnet/ftp client/server. Could be used to develop a new generation of TI99 hosted BBS without needing a clunky PC as an intermediary.
  20. Won't a simple device that takes an RCA audio in and transmit audio via BT do the work? I don't see what advantage there would be of putting a BT transmitter inside a noisy steel cage would bring when a simple box or dongle beside the console would do just as fine... It could be a small box that plug in the snuggly in the monitor out with a video output jack on the other end.
  21. Yes, I read those I was just asking if someone had a premade part list laying around. The main sticking point that I see in using a PC psu for the PEB is the same as my question in my previous post about the voltage regulators. IN stock 99 and PBE they seem to be expecting a 16v line and PC PSU only give 12v. Since not all voltage regulators are created equal and those in the PEB and Card are now 30 years old, I'm wondering if there could be a negative impact in using a PC psu vs rebuilding the original one.
  22. Is there space enough to install a pin connector instead of soldering the cable directly to the board? That way the cable could be made replaceable?
