  1. I didn't have much problem, it took a while to get over the Atlantic, but it seems to work great. I can't answer about that source for games as I own a Vic-20, however if you're ok with the grey area of preloaded SD cards, they offer that along with the SD2IEC. I don't think it was too much more so just an option.
  2. I got mine from https://www.thefuturewas8bit.com/It's a British company, but they make some nice looking ones that work well.
  3. I received my copy today. I put it in an old combat shell. Thanks for giving me something new to play on my 2600
  4. HSS bit, a hole cutter bit, a 18v cordless drill, a file, and I had to grind one of the inside wings with the screw-hole near where the button sits. And I filed a slot to hold the cord in place and used the top plate to press down on it so it would stay. I'd probably go a different route with the paint and dip it in plastic because the spray is too thin and peels off.
  5. You might also try using a contact cleaner on the datasette port. The read and write use different contacts so it could be the read contact is dirty. Also check the pins on the datasette plug, it's possible that the read pin isn't making contact.
  6. Going off of this, you could purchase a modern homebrew on cassette and try that. That will give you a new tape with data to read. Just a suggestion, that way if you do find out the datasette is bad, when you get another or fix it, you'll also have a new game to try.
  7. I simply formatted the SD card to FAT and then used it in the sd2iec. It seemed to work fine. No problems thus far.
  8. Think I might play some Night Driver for 2600 after work.

  9. played some Quake II on the N64 before work, probably going to get into some submarine warfare on the Vic-20 after work

Quake II really pushed the limits of the N64, still looks good in my book.

I enjoy it. It's one of the few games I got that wasn't second hand, kind of wish I had kept the box but hindsight is 20/20

It's better on the PS1 probably...

  10. It worked like a charm. I got an old 64mb SD card and formatted it and my Vic copied my data over to it with no problems. As always thanks everyone for your support.
  11. That answer is quite philosophical lol. Thanks, I'm gonna grab a cheap SD card to try it out.
  12. Thank you for the suggestion, however I was looking to use a cartridge program called Personal Finance which saves it's data either by cassette or floppy, I wanted to know if I could save the data on an SD card from the Vic-20 by tricking the computer into thinking the sd2iec is a floppy drive, not load the program from the SD card, but to save the data I input via the program onto the SD card. I hope that makes sense.
  13. My folks got my siblings one a year before I was born (somewhere between 86-87), so I grew up on the Atari until about 1995. It was a 4 switch woodgrain model. I remember a lot of good times with jungle hunt, the empire strikes back, Pac-man, sleek n peek, and a lot of frustrating times with E.T., still have no idea how to properly play that game.
  14. I wanted to know if a SD2IEC can be used to replace a floppy drive for my Vic-20. I though about playing around with Personal Finance on it and the program can save data by either a datasette or floppy disk. I wanted to know if I have a blank SD card in my SD2IEC is it possible for the Vic-20 to write that data to it like it would a floppy? It seems more of a desirable option given that my other option is cassette and that can be hit or miss. Just curious because I have the device and I'm not very knowledgeable of it's capabilities.
  15. A standard wood 4 switcher with jungle hunt (possibly Star Trek SOS)

Why we would want the skeleton of ALF to comeback? unless it's a zombie movie :P

Sounds Awesome! And what beverage is nearby?

  20. I feel like that's possibly true because I've have had countless number of nasty replies that state that their price is firm, and I've am left wondering why they had make offer in the first place.
  21. Of course, that's part of the magic
  22. The only tape i have is Money Analyzer II, but mostly I convert TZX files that I have found into WAV files and play them from my phone into the TS 1000
