  1. Thanks for the info. I don't have a flashRom 99, so at this point in time it's kind of "Cart or Bust" However, if that price I quoted is pretty accurate for a Star Trek cart, perhaps I should think of investing in a flashRom in the future.
  2. Looking for a reasonably priced Star Trek SOS for the TI-99/4A. It doesn't have to be CIB or with manual, the eBay price seems a bit high holding at $45-50. Maybe that's the correct price for buying this, but I thought I'd post this to find out.
  3. It's galvanized steel, but with the right drill bit it's not hard. It came out pretty nice. I used a button and joystick from Adafruit and a cord from an old Gemstik 2600 controller. I used plastic dip to paint it and insolate it as well. I apparently could multitask fast enough to throw it together pretty quick.
  4. Time to give this a try. Hope to have some complete pics here in a week or two.
  5. Would love to get a voice synth for my TI-99/4a, but I have this feeling that it would cost me more than I paid for the computer.

TI Speech Synths have generally been pretty cheap in my experience. :?

  6. AtariAge Flappy - See who can fly the farthest. However, it might crush the morale as it is kind of hard.
  7. I noticed that my Solaris red label cart fits pretty tight in my 4 switch. Did the Jr. have a larger slot or something?

      save2600

larger than the 7800 for sure, but maybe only slightly larger than the 4-switches

Many red label carts have that same issue.

Millipede was a very tight fit in my heavy sixer. That's a silver label.

  8. Picked these up from the 2nd & Charles near me. They have amassed a large collection of games including CIB. The Solaris and Gravitar are in great condition.
  9. Interesting concept. I saw a group of guys who took a raspberry pi and stepped the hdmi to VGA and then found a converter that stepped the VGA signal down to the RGB. If you had a modified TI-99/4A with VGA perhaps a step down like the GSB-8100 that these guys used might work. Or maybe a composite to VGA converter that is connected to a GSB-8100 might work. I'll be honest I'm not anywhere near being an expert, more like an avid idiot who likes to throw things at the wall and see what sticks but perhaps this article might be interesting for everyone here. http://celso.io/2012/12/17/connecting-a-raspberry-pi-to-an-old-15khz-arcade-monitor.html
  10. Did not mean to over look your contribution to the TI-99 market. I recently picked up one of your Atarisoft command module.
  11. Thought I'd post here about a nice adapter for the TI-99/4A that I got from coolnovelties.co.uk for £14.99 Its a nice little Y cable adapter which I find looks a little better than the normal box type that are floating around. Just thought I'd let you guys know about it, if you don't already know about.
  12. Anyone have a WAV file for the cassette version of Tunnel of Doom for the TI-99/A4?

  13. Part of me wants to buy shares in Atari as it is only $0.23 a share currently, but i feel like it would be tantamount to buying railroad bonds at this point. JUst having it to say you do.

Are you able to buy it? The corporate website 2012 shows me Japanese characters (instead of share price) And Scottrade shows no price and no volume (I can't buy as OTC)...Though maybe it's on Euronext Paris...

I just saw the price on Google. It might not be able to be purchased. I just thought at the price Google was stating it at, was kind of ridiculous. And just thought, hey I'd love to own a part of Atari, however I've never invested so I can't say I know anything. Sorry for getting peoples hopes up.

No prob brother. I was just curious. I think it's on the Paris Exchange (maybe)...But not available here...I think I had and sold some for around $3.00+ a share maybe like 12 years ago...

  14. My most expensive retro game so far has been Star Trek: SOS for the VIc-20 and that was only $19 High Roller here.
  15. Thanks for an easy transaction! Got my carts today!
  16. Finally got the AV cable in the mail, so I got to test my TI-99/4A out. I just have the basics, so nothing flashy
  17. That Amdek takes me back. We use to use one for our Apple II and then it was set up as a dedicated monitor for my brother's Sega Genesis. I also had a Commodore 1702 monitor that I used for years. I would love to get both again, unfortunately they are out of my budget. I use my LG 32CS560 LCD TV as my monitor currently.
  18. This is where you can find an extensive collection of ZX-81/ T/S 1000 games - Many will need the 16k expandable ram http://www.zx81stuff.org.uk/zx81/tape/c There is a utility here called Tape2Wave that will convert the .TZX files into a wave file that you can either put on a tape or play it though an mp3 player or a smart phone. http://www.worldofspectrum.org/utilities.html I suggest Sea Wolf, City or Xon (Zaxxon Clone) and Pioneer Trail (Oregon Trail for the T/S 1000). Word of warning: You might have to load it a couple times as it may not load the first play-through.
  19. Did 'The Attack' on the TI-99/4A have a strip? If it did, does anyone have an image of it that I could use to print one for myself?

    1. save2600

      save2600

Keyboard strip for the function keys you're talking about? Don't think so. Did any games come with such a strip?

Not sure, I'm new at the TI-99, so I thought I'd ask.

Yeah, fairly 99.9% sure that's not a thing for games. Was only used for productivity stuff

  20. I got one for Christmas back when it came out. The one I received came with a Batman game. It lasted a day and them it stopped working. I was crushed. I should have taken that as a warning sign about Tiger. But alas, would later get the Game.com... A childhood of bad choices.
  21. My girlfriends folks got me Seaquest and E.T. for the 2600. Not sure if that was to be nice or show disapproval of me lol
  22. Yeah, Contact cleaner is a good idea if you have it. Just spray and then toggle the switch back and forth, it might loosen up any dirt in there and also clean the contacts (go figure). Its kind of greasy so if you can get a sprayer straw it might cut down on the overspray.
  23. $1, or if you have some PVC T connectors and blue paint $500
  24. When you realize you misspelled Oregon... My 4th grade teacher would be so ashamed.
