I have Vic Typewriter which was a .TAP file I put on a cassette to use with my datasette, and I have one that was preloaded on an SD card I purchased with my sd2iec called speed script. If I have the printer under the cmd1 and I enter the command list, that will simply print the code of the program in basic I have loaded at the time, will It not? Is it possible with a Vic-20 domestic word processor to print a document you make with said processor? I'm sorry if these questions seem naive, I'm just trying to figure out what is possible.

I have recently acquired a Vic-1525 that is in good working order. I was wondering if anyone on here knows if it is possible to print from a word processor program using the Vic-1525 on the Vic-20? If so, I'm always open to learn. I know how to print out lines of text from the print#3 command (or whatever designated number the printer is assigned under). Thanks for taking time to look this post over.

Update: I found the issue and was able to correct it. The transistor Q4 which is a D880 was faulty and not producing the correct power level on one of it's 3 lines. I replaced it and the datasette is working nicely. Thanks for all your suggestions.

my vic-20 uses a 7 pin DIN and i replaced the original power supply with a after market one made by Ray Carlsen after reading up on the potential harm original power supplies can cause. As of right now I'm not sure what else i can do. I did a DC Volt check on the port and it reads as follows: A-1 - GND B-2 - 4.97v DC C-3 - 0.15v DC D-4 - 0.38v DC E-5 - 0.08v DC F-6 - 4.92v DC Since c-3 and D-4 are what makes it play and how the computer reads the cassette, i can assume that such low voltage, especially with the motor under c-3, is the cause of why the datasette is not working. I thought about tracking down a Sams guide for the Vic-20 to see if i can track down where thee source of the problem originates, but i have a hunch it's just age and bad luck. Thanks for y'alls input.

Thanks you! I'll be honest I don't see anything or the cart, but it's possible that it has come off. They are both very plain labels with the title and I assume the games catolog number, such as the count is Vic-1917.

I need help figuring out my Commodore Vic-20. Did not expect to be this lost, but the computers has +7 years on me. I have been trying to run the count and adventure (adventure land) carts I just recently acquired, but I don't know the command. I thought it would be Load"count",8 and Load"adventure",8 but I receive a device not present error... Any help form the experienced veterans would be great.

I think I figured out the issue, the prong c-3 which is the motor is only putting out .10v which can't even make the motor twitch, any idea what might cause that?

I just recently obtained a Vic 20 and it came with the c2n drive. The computer looks and works great except when I hook up the cassette drive and type load and press play nothing happens. The cassette doesn't move and if I try to fast forward or rewind nothing happens. I thought it was the drive so I got another but no mas, it acts the same. I'm not sure what's wrong and was wondering if any of you guys had any ideas. I have tested to make sure the port is getting power and it is but I'm not sure what each prong is suppose to register. Thanks for any help you can suggest.

I apologize if this is the wrong place for this question, but is there anywhere on the interwebs that makes replica top labels? I have a game or two that are missing them and I'd like to replace them if I can.

I'm seconding that

There are two places in my town that sells retro games. The one doesn't usually take 2600 games but occasionally they get a lot where there are some thrown in and I have been able to pick through them. The other place has seriously weaned down what they take in but what they do have is usually a dollar, the only exception was the Snoopy and the Red Baron which was $10, but considering the price it is currently holding at on eBay, it seemed like a steal.

Hi, I'm brand new to the site, although I've been guest creeping for a while, and thought this would be the perfect way to start. This site has been very helpful to me especially the large catalog of 2600 game manuals. I wouldn't call what I have a collection yet as I just started. I have a 2600 Jr and enjoy playing it with my girlfriend. She enjoys it because she can destroy me in certain games, namely Frogs n' Flies. Any who, I hope y'all enjoy.
