  1. I have an extra Jaguar console that has a blown transistor near the back where I accidentally hooked up the wrong power supply to it. I think the console will work if somebody could solder a replacement transistor. I can't really see the one I'm talking about in your pictures due to the angle but maybe you would want to check mine out? If you are good at soldering things like that or know somebody that is maybe you could get a working Jag out of it.
  2. Im just curious why you never tried to port The Adams Family CJ? I really loved that game on SNES. It was super hard but it was a fun platformer. I never played the ST version but it was on the ST and im sure it would make a great addition to the Jaguar library. Does anybody elae like The Adams Family, or am I the only one odd ball out there?
  3. God the love here in this forum just radiates more and more each time i visit. Its good to be a part of a community who share the same interests and are true fans of Atari and their ill fated Jag. Nice to see everybody getting along and not taking shots and one another like all the other sites out there!
  4. I would never actually search for 2 of anything the guy i got it from sold me 2 copies for $170. I only wanted 1 but this was the cheapest i could find it and it was 2 copies! I think im going to sell one on eBay. Oddly enough I also have 2 copies of Battlemorph. (My favorite Jaguar game) and that was also unintentional. I already bought one then i recieved another with the jag CD unit i bought. That extra copy is already on eBay.
  5. I finally got my 2 copies of Atari Karts (CIB!) And Zero 5!!!! Zero 5 is still in shrinkwrap!!! These are my most expensive games. Breakout 2000 was pretty expensive too but i didnt include it in this pic because it's not as rare as these guys, Please ignore the Virtual Boy in the pic. Dont pay it any attention thats what it wants you to do. If you dont acknowledge it, pretend you don't even see it, it will go away, maybe.
  6. I do want to mention DOOM 64 which was one of the earliest games for the N64 vs DOOM on the Jaguar. There is no comparison. The N64 version was far superior and it only came out a year after the version for Jaguar. (Doom 64 1996 and doom jag 95 correct me if im wrong) im not saying the Jaguar didnt have more potential we all know it did, but as far as giving N64 a run for its money I think not. On a separate note one interesting fact I found was that the N64 and Jaguar were capable of displaying the same amount of colors on screen. I thought that was neat, and kind of unbelievable but its true!
  7. Yeah Another World was kind of expensive, but I'm pretty sure if I didnt buy it right away I would never find it again. I think they only had 2 runs of it and there is only 150 copies. Im satisfied because its pretty good quality game. Now I WOULD NOT HAVE PAID THAT much for that copy of Alice's Moms Rescue that guy had. Thats just crazy. In fact I think $40 is too much for that one limited cartridge edition or CD, DOESNT MATTER. That games just not worth the big bucks. Orion is awesome because he made Osmosyz and Yopaz 3D dont get me wrong, but AMR just doesn't look good. Of course thats only my opinion Im sure other people could find joy in it.
  8. CJ when are we getting a list for this? How do I get on that list? Will there be a reserve fee or will we just have to pay in full up front? Any word on price yet?
  9. I also have Atari Karts and Zero 5 new in the box on their way here from the UK. They can join my copy of Another World in all their rareness. Question, has Mutant Penguins becoe rare/hard to find? Mine was way too expensive.
  10. I just bought that same guy's Another World cartridge.
  11. Dr Typo, I know this is an old topic and an old release of yours now (3 years old now) but I really wanted to give you some feedback on this game. I was really impressed with what you've created here. Its really nice to see somebody try and actually PUSH the Jaguar vs creating 2D 8 bit/16 bit style games. Theres nothing wrong with those mind you, but there arent enough projects that really push the hardware and embrace the Jaguars 3D capabilities like this one does. This game reminds me of the Defender remake for PS2 and gamecube back in the early 2000s. I really like the theme and speed of everything. My only suggestions are maybe use a slightly higher resolution sprite for the pilots who run toward your ship and possibly fill the playfield with more enemies on each level. Other than those small things this game is pretty awesome and I hope you haven't abandoned it. Are there any new updates on the project? It would be really interesting to see an update to this one the potential is there for an epic Jaguar game. Just my 2 cents
  12. I wonder how hard it would be to replace in game 3d models such as the cars themselves the penguins and other props with 2D rendered objects like Atari Karts and World Tour racing have? I bet it would speed the game up if it were pushing less polygons. Also how does one apply the control patch to the rom?
  13. No there are no reviews however there are 2 let's play videos from some kids. Feel free to do a review if you like CJ.
  14. Im ripping all of the sprites and bacdrops from Primal Rage 2 arcade game. Im wondering if the ultra vortek source is around, or any other 2D fighting source for the jag? (Kasumi Ninja maybe?) I know theres a source for fight for life but that wont work. It needs to be pure 2D. i will also make these sprites and backdrops available on the spriters resource.
  15. Don't worry I heard you were already on the list. Everything will be listed and in order on the list as listees are added.
  16. Ok fair enough dumb question. I know they are differnt hardware and the code they are written in is differnt but so was the SNES and GENESIS and there does exist an adapter to play genesis cartridges on SNES hardware. So i was just asking if theoretically it was possible. I know there would be the issue of bypassing whatever encription the sega cd has and then writing the jaguar cd incription to the custom iso and there would also be a zillion other things to change im sure. Im also not really familiar with the Sega CD at all. I dont know how good the games are compared to the jag or which one is more powerful. Im assuming the Jaguar is more powerful. That cartridge adapter I was referencing is just an emulator isnt it? In that case getting an emulator to run on the jag would be a nightmare. Especially the sega cd. Forget everything I have wrote today. Wow. Jaguar emulating other consoles. I need sleep. The jaguar probably doesnt even access data on the disk the same way the sega cd does. Wishful dreaming. Sorry
  17. I dont know why Jagtopia doesnt boot it. I pop jagtopia in wait for the splash screen then wait for the disk to stop spinning then insert soulstar then push B and i get the disk spinning but it gets stuck on a black screen. I have the same issue with Iron Soldier 2 but Protector SE doesnt boot that one either, in that case it may be a bad burn but that doesnt explain Soulstars issue
  18. Okay, so i have a question. The atari Jaguar uses a Motorola 68000 cpu and the jaguar cd is a 2x cd rom add on right? The sega Genesis has a Motorola 68000 cpu and 16 bit gpu and the sega cd unit is also 2x. Both systems games are written in assembly code specifically for the motorola 68000 cpu. So why on earth can't somebody like CJ port the Sega CD version of Soulstar to work on the jag? It would be a custom hacked iso of an already released product of Eidos vs a released w.i.p. they dont want people to see. Im sure the sound wouldn't work right away without some modifications due to differnt sound hardware but isnt it possible? Or is this theory kind of like saying just because my microwave has an LCD screen on it somebody SHOULD be able to program Tetris to work on it? The only reason why im asking is because it seems like the soulstar floating around there in the world IS a an attempt to port the Sega CD game by Eidos to the Jaguar CD rather than just another version that was being developed alongside it. Im basng this assumption on the graphics between the 2 they look identical. (To me anyway, anybody notice differences?)
  19. This has probably already been covered but I just got the version of Soulstar I have to work for the very first time using Protector SE for booting it. (shocked that worked and Jagtopia Freeboot does not!) Anyway, does anybody know how to blow up the enemy in level 3? I'm having a hard time controlling the ship in that stage too. Am I supposed to destroy something else first and then the boss, or just go straight for the boss? It's hard to tell what's going on with all the scrambled textures.
  20. That is really really odd. It seems like maybe it an XP compatibility issue but im not sure. Can you do me a favor? Can you download JOY2KEYS and set up a USB controller and see if it responds to your input then? The only reason I am asking is the last 2 people who played it said the controls were spot on, but it sounds like you are having a technical issue i wasnt aware of because it should not start moving and then just become unresponsive. Thats not cool and needs to be fixed. If its running at full speed like you say and still not responsive that is also very strange. Let me know what you find and thank you

  22. Did anybody else see the jaguar multi cart he has? Thats an odd one
  23. @BladeJunker, Yes that particular style of game is very appealing to me. I have always loved 3D sprites mixed with polygons and 3D environments. I played the game you mentioned Bug! after I started working on DKQ3D and yes, I actually did take some notes from it. I don't want to say Bug! inspired the game because obviously DKC2 is what inspired it, but it did influence it and it's strange that you were able to see that. Very good! Some other good examples of 3D sprites mixed with 3d environments are, Mario Kart 64, Mischief Makers, Killer Instinct Gold, Clayfighter 63 and whatever its called and Ms Pac Man maze madness for N64/PS1/DC.. I'm pretty excited about doing a Jaguar game, even if it's only Crazy Kong Country and nothing more. I always loved my Jaguar and I'm happy to see people are still behind it after so many years. Regarding Retropia on the Jag, that view angle you were proposing, I seem to recall an old arcade game where a ship flys to the right at that angle and it's traveling through corridors and booby traps shooting stuff. I can't think of the name of it but it seemed isometric in a sense and I want to say it was made by Sega.... I wonder what that game was called. Anyway I probably could eventually try doing Retropia in that fasion but I really don't think it would be worth it and I'm sure I would have to cut back on all the animated textures and if I did that it wouldn't be RETROPIA anymore. So definitely going to try and turn Jungle Jag into Crazy Kong Country and probably going to try my hand at Robotron as well. I know I will be replacing those gems you collect in Jungle Jag with the K O N G letters and I know the 2 enemies I will put in will be the Zinger and Slippa to replace the caveman and green snake.
