How are you liking it?? that wimodem232 from CBM ??? Thats fellow is in your home town is he not?? James -
Before I go to ebay just wondering if anyone here is collecting boxed software? I have a bunch of games, and a few applications that I have no interest in the original stuff. I would be willing to give a good deal, especially if it was to go 4-5 in a lot type of thing. James

Well I would be good with Zoom.. it would allow me to share my screen ( Running STeem and the GFA source for the BBS) I am now more thinking this might be just general fun.. Thats more why I wanted you guys to get on Discord.. just to chat. Now as for time.. evenings are always better for me.. espically right now. I am working on getting my sailboat ready for launch, so weekends are pretty locked up for me.. except in the evenings. Yes I am Toronto area so EST. James -

Sorry John, you misunderstand.. I am talking about the FORMAT of the BBS list.. not whats in it.. it is empty because its a new bbs.. I have not populated.. but they want telephone numbers ratings for files and games, etc.. it is not a freeform list etc.. it is structured. There is also a NEW USER questionaire.. which I would like to do away with completely. James -

I have contacted the author again.. But the long and short.. if I really want to use this bbs software - then I am going to have to learn GFA basic. There are also many menus in ANSI, ASCII, RIP etc.. that I need to learn to edit. THings in menus like the OLD bbs listing.. that are not relevant anymore and I would like to remove them. Either that or I move on to a different software, and chock this one up as nice.. but more work than its worth to get working. James -

Hi again, just keeping you in the loop. I have found the crux of the issue with the UDS-10 device. ATS0=0 will not work with this device. As you can read in the AT set.. ATS0=1-9 must be done for the device to accept a call from the NETWORK. I think if it is on 0 it will display RING 123.345.234.1 (or the ip of the device trying to connect) BUT - as you see the device (UDS-10) does not recognize an ATA command.. which is in the .CNF to "answer" the phone. I am building some WIFI ESP8266 modems - so maybe this solves the issue with hardware. But I think to get your software to work with this we need to get around the ATA~ requirement. What do other softwares do.. ATS0=0 or ATS0=1? does your bbs software respond with an ATA? -

well.. again.. back to not working. with the MSS-100 I am able to do a more complete init string.. one of the issues I was having with the UDS-10. I did get it to work that one time.. and damm it looked good on Syncterm. I am not sure what to do now. Maybe I should try and get a very basic versino of ST express running. see if I can get it going with the hardware.. I need to establish .. is it hardware/firewall portfwding.. or is this software. worked for 2 calls last night.. I got it to work by starting the program first.. then powering up the mss100 If I had the mss100 up and running when trying to start Foresight it would go into this loop it does when it detects someone on the line when it boots.. it goes into a login.. garbage spewed.. it logged off.. and then shutdown. I could not get a proper start up. without doing it the first way.. BUT when I did.. I was able to log in remotely.. I did it twice.. so I thought maybe we were good... James -

I dont have a patch or HSModem.. can you link for me? James -
I think I have progress. If you try BIKERBOBSCLUBHOUSE.DDNS.NET you will get a connection.. nothing happens because thats just the mss-100 autoanswering.. and there is no software doing anything. BUT its getting through the router!!!! James

ok.. let me look at what I sent you.. Thats not what I have been dealing with. You are looking in the directory of the LAST BUILD correct?? James

Connecting your BBS to the Internet
Bikerbob replied to Tillek's topic in Atari BBS Gurus's BBS SysOps
well most nights I would start working on this around 8pm 9pm.. THis morning I found that my machine could make an internal connection to 192.168.0.25 at 9600baud, but not 19200.. hmmm -
Well, I have decided on a couple of things. 1. I think ForeSight is setup a lot like other bbs' so I think this is an issue with UDS / MSS (yes now playing with a MSS-100 I have) 2. I would love it if someone else would set up the demo foresight bbs and see if they can get it to run. 3. I am having issues with port forwarding.. I think this is my ISP.. I cannot prove it.. because they will not definitively tell me yes it works and this is how.. or no it doesnt.. They say they dont support port forwarding .. but it is available. hmmmmm 4. I have purchased the parts to make a pair of Zimodem wifi modems. I will see if I can get these to work better or different. The parts were $9ea.. so what the heck. James

Something is not working.. I can connect from a remote machine (within the network) 192.168.0.25 (address of the mss - static) on ports 23 and 7000 (configuration ports) I have Stalker open and can talk to the mss via serial.. AT command etc.. I cannot connect to STalker on remote mode via ports 2001 2002 or 2003 - by the manual should work. -

ok, thanks.. I am using Rogers Cable here (FIDO a subsiduary) and have not had a lot of luck with the ports.. lets hope this works out better. Now what about serial port setting.. access?? dynamic? DTR wait? modem control? modem emulation ( I assume YES on this one) James -

Ok got my Eiffel 3 working correctly. Yeah one victory. Back looking at this again. I do have a mss100.. the modem emu seems much better than the uds10. But I am confused on the configuration because I don't see anywhere to set the TCP servers port number... It would have to have the port? How do you call it?? James -
OK, so then maybe my next step is to get GFA basic working.. and load up the source. James
