There better be an extra-hot special place reserved in Hell for the idiot who thought battery-powered wireless controllers was a necessity for consoles. Controller dying at the worst possible time cost me a high score!

  For me, the advantages of wireless controllers are far outweighed by the disadvantages: the need to sync them up, the wastefulness of changing batteries, limited battery life, etc.
  
  I'd much rather just put the console close to where I sit and have a short controller cord between me and the console, the way the classic consoles were designed to be used.

  Agreed 100% with both of you. I always preferred the old method of having a controller and a cord. Unfortunately, you don't always have a choice when you're emulating on today's consoles.
