My dog Ozzie (golden retriever) was put down today.  His cancer was getting worse and it was time.  When it was done, I felt much worse and much better at the same time; it's an overwhelming moment and a mentally draining day.  I'm okay, though.  I was blessed to have him be a part of my life in his nine years here and will miss him very much.  To the rest of you members who have your own hardships to endure:  my heart goes out to you.  You're not as alone as you may think.
