  1. Happy back-to-school day, kids!  My advice to you as a writer:  if you can't even write about a man from Nantucket, then you might as well give up and just say... oooh, toast is ready!

Our back to school day here is the wednesday after labor day.

  2. Today was a neutral day.

  3. Tyreek Hill ran 60 meters in less than 7 seconds.  In American, that's 196 footlong sandwiches.

Since Americans refer to women as washing machines and the average American woman is about 63 inches tall, that's about 37 washing machines.

196 footlong sandwiches? But how many footlong hotdogs is that?

    4. Kiwi

  4. Don't fall for snake oil crap.  Vitamin B12 is good for energy, memory, and I forget what else...

It took me a couple of seconds to get that.

  6. Sorry, but my price for leaving stinking towns is 11,500 and a kiss on the lips from Carmen Miranda.  Pass it on to them.

All dames are alike: they reach down your throat so they can grab your heart, pull it out and they throw it on the floor, and they step on 'em with their high heels, they spit on it, shove it in the oven and they cook the shit out of it. Then they slice it into little pieces, slam it on a hunk of toast, and they serve it to you. And they expect you to say, "Thanks, honey, it's delicious."

Glad somebody got the Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid reference.  Great flick!

TBH,  I had to look it up  ;)

I last saw this movie in the theater!  But it was awesome and I should probably revisit it.

  7. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!  I wish you all love, peace, prosperity, and diarrhea laughter all the days of your lives.

I used the strikethrough font for diarrhea in my status update, but it looks like it doesn't work.  WTF?  😆

Looks like it doesn't work on the main forums page, but when I click on my profile and visit it, it works.  Haha!

  8. After all these years, I can't believe I never realized before that the Fonz (Henry Winkler) is only 5'6".  He never seemed that short to me on TV.

Wow and he used to call Joanie short stuff? Heeeeyyyyyyyyyy!

Any mention of The Fonz reminds of a time I was back in college in the late 90's.  I had just gotten out of the Navy and was in accounting class and we were discussing fraud and in particular Ponzi schemes.  Someone asked where it got that name and I piped up "oh that's from the guy who created it...Arthur Ponzirelli".  Not a single person got it.

  9. So in addition to voicing Mario, that prick Chris Pratt is going to voice Garfield, too.  I'd prefer he be the spider that Garfield always whacks with the paper.

      atari2600land

Was Bill Murray unavailable? I thought he was a good Garfield in what I heard of that movie.

    2. SlidellMan

      SlidellMan

Pratt is a good actor, but he can never match even Seth Green's take on Garfield. (Anyone who has seen the Cat Court skit on Robot Chicken knows why.)

  10. Hockey's back!  It's the most wonderful time of the year.

Agreed.  Unfortunately, I doubt it will be a great, even good, season for my Rangers ?

I think they're a few years away from being a good team again.  It's a shame you don't have Buchnevich anymore; I thought he improved his game quite a bit last year.

  11. Back in my school days, some girl called me Christophen instead of Christopher because she said my lowercase Rs in cursive looked like Ns.  So that's why my pen pal Curt never replied to my letters...

My mom writes "r"s like that too. When I was in school, teachers sometimes complained about her handwriting, and she would get angry.

@x=usr(1536) I have a co worker currently that has the same script on his uniform.  We call him by that name and he embraces it. ?

      DuggerVideoGames

Coke and Pepsi indeed are easy to distinguish.  Just randomly posting Simpsons quotes to see who gets the references.  :)  Besides, Mt. Dew and IBC Root Beer are better!

Especially Mt. Dew Baja Blast.    Great Simpsons stuff.  ?

  15. Brothers and sisters are natural enemies.  Like Englishmen and Scots.  Or Welshmen and Scots.  Or Japanese and Scots.  Or Scots and other Scots.  Damn Scots, they ruined Scotland!

  20. Finally, NHL season is here!  The 5:30 start time for the Pens/Flyers is odd, though.

  21. I hope you all had a safe and happy 2020 holiday season, and I hope 2021 is better for us all!

  22. Anybody here use the Topps Bunt20 app?  I started a few days ago and am enjoying it.  Feels like when I used to collect baseball cards when I was younger.  I know it's not the same, but still enjoyable.

  23. Woohoo!  Power's finally back!  Was out for 54 and a half hours!

Damn!  I don't remember ever being without power for that long.  A couple years ago was the longest I was without power (about 12 hours or so) when lightning split a neighborhood telephone pole in half.

Thanks, Jeff!  Doing fine now.  Having no Internet and Television is fine, but having no hot water for that period of time sucked!  Makes me pity what the homeless and others who are less fortunate have to endure.
