  1. Thank you. It's difficult to grab all the coins on the timed stages, though. I got all of them 2 or 3 times; I think only twice because I remember getting a 3,000-point bonus and a 5,000-point bonus. Hard to get to the top when it's dark.
  2. 318,810 pts. Edit: accidentally double-posted first pic. Edited post to include initials screen.
  3. Score: 161,780 pts Play the game and post a score: [+3] Score 100,000 or more: [+5] I played poorly this time. Too many mistakes, but will give this another go sometime.
  4. Although I said my list is in no particular order, The Guardian Legend indeed is #1 for me. My favorite NES game ever. Still have the cartridge, too!
  5. Asking to pick only 10 from the NES library would be like asking what your favorite 10 stars are from the sky. Nevertheless, I'll try it. In no particular order, here are my 10 favorite NES/Famicom games: 1. The Guardian Legend 2. The Legend of Zelda 3. Guerrilla War 4. Bubble Bobble 5. Mappy 6. Tecmo Super Bowl 7. Super Mario Bros. 3 8. Golf 9. Popeye 10. Donkey Kong Jr. Bill & Ted's Excellent Video Game Adventure is #1 on my shit list, but only because I'm one of those fortunate souls who has never played Jekyll & Hyde yet (I hear it's atrocious).
  6. Play game and post a score: +3 At least 50,000 pts: +2 New score: 82,120 pts. Did much better today. Had over 31,000 pts. before I lost my first life this time. Difference was that I was more assertive and decisive in getting to the top and getting them to fall down on the others. If you're too slow to make up your mind, you end up getting trapped and losing big-time bonuses.
  7. 71,980 pts. Kudos to those of you who can get over 100k in this game. It's difficult!
  8. For me, it's about finding a fine balance between grabbing as many green flags as you can and finishing the level quickly enough. The time bonus isn't worth diddly squat, in my opinion; however, if you slow down too much to grab all the green flags, you fail the level and don't have enough time to finish. It's basically a game of "don't run into stuff".
  9. Indeed it is. I'm not fully aware of what's going on, but social media has a trending topic stating that Oregonians are whining about having to pump their own gas (a new law? lol).
  10. I'm surprised that you have the time and the strength to play anything now that you have to pump your own gas.
  11. Popeye (Colecovision): 201,390 points. A little rusty as I haven't played in a while.
  12. Tecmo Super Bowl (Genesis). Rushed for 303 yards with Dan Marino in preseason against the Colts. I actually rushed for over 4,000 yards with him in a 16-0-0 season in the NES version.
  13. R.I.P. Jerry Van Dyke. His Luther Van Dam character was one of my favorites. I knew his leg was cursed! Damn you, Sports Illustrated!

My understanding is that Jerry Van Dyke had his own arcade somewhere in the South. Shame he's gone.

  14. New score: 44,040 pts. Not sure I can improve much more than this. It seems like you don't have enough time to run less than top speed, and if you run at top speed, too many seals hit you. I'll give it a try again sometime later this week and see if I can surprise myself.
  15. I'm new to this game. Fun game, even though it can make you feel like clubbing seals. 30,110 pts. Bonus Points: play game and post a score [+3]
  16. Love finding bad trades that the CPU approves in old Genesis games!

NHL 95: as the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, I traded Guy Hebert and Terry Yake to the Devils for Martin Brodeur and Mike Peluso.

  17. My favorite version of the Rudolph song is sung by my 3-year-old niece. Instead of saying Cupid, she says Q*Bert!

How cute. She's played Qbert yet?

She has. She says that Coily the snake is adorable and she drew a pic of him with her purple crayon.

  18. The best part of your picture is the Pac-Man mug.
  19. Swingers has the scene where they're playing NHLPA '93 and making Wayne Gretzky's head bleed (although they talked about fighting being taken out of the game, but it was NHL '94 that removed fighting). I believe the movie Firestarter had some Colecovision products displayed. I remember one of the kids using the Nintendo PowerGlove in one of the Beethoven movies (can't remember if it's the first one or the second one).
  20. I think I could be a philanthropist. A kick-ass philanthropist! I would have all this money and people would love me. Then they would come to me and beg! And if I felt like it, I would help them out and then they would owe me big time!

And yes, I still use Google to search things. I'll never use Bing. Ned Ryerson can go to Hell.

Google should have went to hell, oh wait it did!

Yahoo used to rule IMO, but lately it keeps referring me to other searches....Aggravating!

  21. Finished with 314,335 points moments ago in the GameBoy port of Q*Bert. In my opinion, it's much better than the NES port.
  22. Loved everything about season 10! It was fun. I'd suggest having some weeks this season where you have multiple skill levels for the same game. For example... Game A: Skill 1 Skill 3 Game B: Skill 2 Skill 4 (if applicable; otherwise, skill 3). It's not something that needs to be done with each round, but I think it's worth doing occassionally.
