Coleco strong-arming homebrew publishers and fan sites
DuggerVideoGames replied to TPR's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
At this point, I don't have much to say. I'm just sitting back with a smile on my face because I'm confident that people like the Homebrew developers/publishers and Ben will find a way to make things work themselves out; I think the TM filings are just going to blow up in RWB's collective faces. -

I'm glad for it, too; however, some people clearly don't bother to go back to the first post. -

It's merely so anybody new to the discussion can see the videos instead of having to figure out what page it's on (the topic does have nearly 70 pages at this point). Rather than newcomers having to navigate between posts where it veers off-topic, the videos being on every page is a sure sign they don't miss it. -

You have no idea how difficult it was, doing the things I do at night. My wake-up call obviously didn't do his job. Alfred is so fired... -

I don't have Twitter, but I and several others did post the podcast links on FB recently. I've stayed away from their FB since then because I don't want to give them the satisfaction of having more engagement on their page. -

Another thing to keep in mind is that deception/controversy/aggression is not a one-time thing with RWB and Coleco Holdings; there appears to be a history and a pattern of it. Damning, indeed. -

Exactly what I was saying in my YouTube comment, and exactly what a lot of us are currently thinking! I'm no lawyer or legal expert, but in my eyes: it doesn't matter what rights - if any - Ben gives away in the contract, because as far as I'm concerned, the contract was drawn up under false pretenses. I think everything bearing the Coleco/Colecovision brand/name/logo should be forfeited and up for claims again (with Cardillo and anybody associated with him or RWB being disqualified from claiming for it). That would be perfect justice. The simple fact of the matter is that their so-called "trademark" wasn't approved until THREE YEARS AFTER BEN POSTED A PIC OF HIS PORTABLE! They never filed 2005 as their first commercial use until THREE YEARS LATER IN 2008, USING BEN'S PIC! How it looks: they fleeced Ben and used him to get the TM. How it probably is: they fleeced Ben and used him to get the TM. Simply put: they are trolls incapable of doing anything themselves. They look for the slightest opening to use their unethical and deceptive means for their own gains. -

I'll put it this way: it's atrocious. The song I wrote about boob sweat for a friend was much better and way more entertaining (some members here found it hilarious). -

Thanks, toiletunes. I was in the middle of posting it only to see you already had. The sack of money's still MINE, though. -

Here you go, page 59. I want to make it clear that I have no business relationship with anybody on these forums or with Pat or any part of his podcast; however, I wouldn't mind if Pat would hand me a huge sack of money for posting these videos on every page. -

To have the audacity to accuse Rob of needing to chill out and taking things too personally is ABSURD. As I already stated, there's over 57 pages in this topic and many of those pages have PROOF of the exchange between Coleco Holdings and the fan page. In addition to the images of the dialogue between them, there's also Cardillo's absurd posts throughout this very topic! I think it's pretty easy to take what Rob says as fact when he's already PRESENTED THE FACTS. People like you are better off not responding until you have a full understanding of the issues and read and listened to everything. -

It's all about control. They think a name entitles them to controlling the past, the present, and the future. They're sorely mistaken. Jealousy definitely plays a part, as well; after all, their page has 22,391 fewer likes than TPR's page at the moment. The community: fun and passion Them: ego, image, control -

I think because it's pre-2008, that's why it reads that way. Remember, their "trademark" wasn't accepted until 2008 (after they fleeced Ben) and THEN finally stated that 2005 was their first commercial use. The way it appears to me is that they think they can associate themselves with Coleco's history once the trademark was "secured". That's all besides the point, though. The point is the way they're acting NOW and it's still wrong of them to do. -

I'd be 100% in support of locking it again until there are more follow-up videos - if any - by Pat or others. In the meantime, all we're doing is repeating ourselves to points that we already made and have proven as you just stated. If you and Albert want to lock this again until there are new developments (or create another topic for new developments), go for it. -

As I already stated to somebody else in the FB groups: if you're not aware of what the real issues are, then I recommend you do some reading. There's 57 pages of information which are greatly encapsulated in Pat's three videos. -
R.I.P. Adam West. Farewell, old chum. Thanks for the memories!

I grew up with Adam West's Batman. As a little kid I loved the show because of the action and the Batmobile and how cool it all was.
I just finished watching through the entire series on Blu-ray recently - and really gained an appreciation for how brilliantly funny and satirical it was. It was the "Airplane" of superheroes. They were all in on the joke, and Adam West was the key to it all.
Thank you Adam for all of the fun, action and laughs!

Saw a Doctor Who marathon about a month or two ago on BBC. Quickly fell in love with the show, then haven't seen it since. Probably a good thing, because I wouldn't want to be glued to the TV all the time. -

So glad you're having a great time in NY! The Italian in me probably wouldn't go to half as many places simply because I'd probably stop at every pizza place along the way. Please don't be down on yourself and misinterpret anything others say. The simple fact is that some people don't see the big picture at all. What is more evident is that Cardillo is in the wrong - no matter how much he refuses to admit it - because the sheer fact that this topic exists at all proves it! Prior to the attack on the fan page, I never heard of Cardillo and thus was not angry at him. How could I be angry at somebody I never knew existed yet? He was a nobody from nowhere. He's still a nobody, but an ass of a nobody now. No matter what happens from this point forward, you've won. The word is out on their shady actions and THOUSANDS of people now know the truth. We can only hope many more learn the truth and have the courage to stand up for what's right by simply refusing to ever let a penny of their money go to these people. -
Thought I picked up regular Hawaiian Punch at the store; it's red like the regular one, but it's Berry Limeade. Tasty.
