Coleco strong-arming homebrew publishers and fan sites
DuggerVideoGames replied to TPR's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
And as Flojo already pointed out: they won't offer their "proof" unless they get something in return first. It's like the idiot who plays poker and tries to bluff by stating "I have four aces, you better fold now" when the other guy's holding two aces himself. -

So they NEED Pat's word to potentially clear their name? In other words, they have zilch. If you have something that can clear your name, you'd shout it from the mountaintops and post it for the world to see! I also find it funny that they think they need somebody's word about something they're lying about, but didn't feel the need to get Nintendo's words/permission or Konami's words/permission or anybody else's words/permission for their promotional materials. -

The word is being used properly in this topic, however. It lists the lies/exaggerations and ironies of overused viewpoints. -
List of classic gaming tropes

There's a difference between saying that girls' toys like Barbies go here and boys' toys like G.I. Joe go here as opposed to saying that toys which should be gender-less (like the NES and other video game consoles) being declared a boy's toy. Back then, EVERYTHING had to be put into a gender category (which was very stupid and narrow-minded); that narrow-mindedness only further reinforced and perpetuated negative gender roles. -
Wii - Looking Back, what did you enjoy?
DuggerVideoGames replied to Tanooki's topic in Nintendo Wii / Wii U
Loved playing The Godfather: Blackhand Edition on the Wii. Aside from that, I mostly played Donkey Kong Country Returns, Namco Museum Remix, Mario Kart Wii, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii. -
I didn't play many games on the PS1, but I did play these and enjoy them: Air Combat Crash Bandicoot Crash Bandicoot 2 Final Fantasy VII Metal Gear Solid Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee Twisted Metal Twisted Metal 2 (3 and 4 sucked, in my opinion) 989 Sports made some decent sports games (I enjoyed the NFL Gameday games).

I loved the Ace Combat games on the PS2 (Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies was my favorite). Before Ace Combat, I played Air Combat on the PS1 when it first came out. In Air Combat for the PS1, if you had the misfortune of taking major damage early in a level, you'd spend that entire level hearing a voice saying, "I'm hit, body damage!" (not sure if those were the exact words, but I know the words body damage were repeated). It goes on and on and on... your brain makes you want to scream, "NO SHIT, SHERLOCK!"

I'm surprised this one wasn't listed yet... "Video games aren't for girls." There were many who had that mentality (and sadly many still do). Don't forget: back in the 1980s, toy stores separated toys by gender. Video game consoles like the NES were in the "boys" section of toy stores. -
Way harder than the Colecovision port. On the Atari 2600 port, I sometimes get 13-15k and other times I struggle with a meager 6k. It's the unpredictable movements OUTSIDE of the rooms that get me.

I love the idea of this topic. Even if a score isn't the best you ever had, you post the best you had that day. It's fun! Zaxxon (Skill 4) Colecovision I actually rolled the score over (it rolls over to zeroes when you hit 100,000 pts), so the score is 129,900 pts.

Thinking of buying some classic game IP

You forgot the part where Cardillo probably said "They can blow it out their banjo kazooie" -
Thinking of buying some classic game IP

If I were wealthy and money were no object to me, I'd do it. I'd do it simply for the sake of avoiding confusion and unnecessary drama in regards to copyright/trademarks/etc. If I owned everything, it would avoid confusion in the laws and in regards to ownership; I'd also make it easy for anybody to contact me about dealings together (whether it be today's game companies or the homebrew community, especially the homebrew community to help them find success in their passions as well). Can anybody give me the upcoming PowerBall numbers so we can make this a reality? -
What would be the ideal/perfect CV Controller?
DuggerVideoGames replied to retroillucid's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I had that controller at one point. HATED IT. Absolutely hated it. I liked the original Colecovision controllers much better. I also liked the Flashback controllers; I thought the shorter stick for the knob was a good idea. The best controller is probably a modification of the original Colecovision controller itself, however. The Wico was the worst. It will haunt my memories forever. Edit: I have an Atari 7800 I haven't hooked up yet. The controls for that look terrible; I wouldn't be surprised if it's just as bad - or worse than - the Wico. -

So they say it's an NES cart but it's NOT for the NES. They're dumber than I originally thought. Of course those hypocrites are fine with others using the Nintendo logo and supporting those who use the Nintendo logo. They're fine with whatever they say is okay; they're contradictory and hypocritical jerks. -

I'm grateful for your work. Furthermore, I'm grateful for your fixes. If I'm not mistaken, you're the one who fixed that HORRIBLE glitch in Turbo. I remember when it would say 00 cars passed, and then a car passes you and it says you passed 99 cars! If I'm not mistaken, you're the one who fixed that. What Sega feckupeth, sir Daniel B. fixeth! -

They operate like mobsters who hit up street vendors for "protection money". -
I hardly watch TV, but I love the gags on Carbonaro Effect. A steak that jumps from your plate and runs/slides? That's enough to make you want to tackle it like an Aussie wrestles alligators.

I see Cardillo making a name for himself, good for him, that fugly elf. It's a shame it's not for his rap, which is crap. Maybe next time he'll think and shut his trap. -

It behooves them to stop being jackasses and actually make peace with the community, as opposed to constantly lying and having shills posting on their behalf. -
Will the real Slim Shady stand up? Sit the hell down, Cardillo. You're shady as hell, but you're no Slim Shady.

In addition to deleting the Facebook comments, they acted offended when Cardillo's name was mentioned... EVEN THOUGH CARDILLO POSTED WITH HIS NAME. Typical of a "company": grasp at straws and try to say anything that would make the community out to be the bad guys. Cardillo's shady as hell, but he's no Slim Shady. -

Par for the course. Crooked people doing crooked things. Never changes.
