There's a code to practice on higher levels? Never knew that! Had I known, I could have practiced and it might have saved me a lot of time. To me, Miner 2049er is a trial-and-error game. You just keep playing until you play as mistake-free as possible. Some of these levels - although difficult - aren't as complicated as you might think they are. Once you beat them, you just have to memorize how you did it so you can do it quickly on your next playing session. The problem with level 6 is that you have to be very precise with your jumps; if you're too cautious, you'll end up wasting too much time. If you can consistently get to level six just about every time you play, then you'll have enough practice on it to eventually beat it. When I play, I have quite a few sessions where I fail to hit 20,000 points until it all just clicks and I get on a hot streak and just make everything look easy.

Thank you, Clemson/Alabama, for making me not regret shutting off the Atari and Colecovision. This game was great and an instant classic!

Well, I didn't do nearly as well in this video as I did yesterday; nevertheless, this video demonstrates how you can patiently wait for the fires to cross the screen while you're hanging on the pipes. If you're quick enough, you can get to the top much sooner and complete the level with a much larger timer bonus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzqBfb9Qhqo Not in the video: for the first time, I tried skill 3 to see this cat-saving part NCG was talking about. I had no problems whatsoever saving the cats on the debris level; however, saving them on the pipe level was far more difficult. I was able to save several of them on the pipe level, but I'm not very efficient at it yet. First time on Skill 3, I finished with a meager 3,110 points. Edit: I just now realized NCG added cat-saving as a +2 bonus. Had I realized that sooner, I would have filmed myself saving a few of those cats. I'll get around to posting pics or video of it later.

Well, I thought I'd get my scores out of the way early and set the bar for the rest of you. After posting my new totals in this post, I shall sit out the rest of the round and give somebody else a chance to win this round. Kudos to whoever tops these scores and totals. I know Mangia is quite good at the Spectron game. In the next day or two, I might post a video of Frantic Freddy to show how to effectively rack up your score (the purple fires are not as difficult to evade as you would think). Frantic Freddy: 58,990 pts Flipper Slipper: 13,350 pts Spectron: 3,640 pts TOTAL: 75,980 pts Play all 3 games and post pics: +4 Score 15,000 on Frantic Freddy: +4 Score 3,500 on Spectron: +3 Score 10,000 on Flipper Slipper: +2 Break or set new record: To be determined...

Flipper Slipper [skill 1]: 13,350 pts. I like the other games in this round; however, I'm not a fan of Flipper Slipper. The controls are absolutely atrocious in this game. Sometimes the flippers just refuse to tilt/angle themselves, and that's very damning to your score when the game speeds up and you don't get the control response you're expecting.

When your 2-year-old niece gives you her yellow Play-Doh and asks you to make Pac-Man, you make Pac-Man. Proud uncle!
