  1. A man walks up to you, lifts up his hand, sticks one finger up, and tells you that only one thing in life should matter most to you, but that finger he lifted up was his middle finger...

A man came up to me and said, "I'd like to change your mind, by hitting it with a rock, though I am not unkind." I laughed at his little joke and slowly walked away, then hit my head on the wall of the jail, where the two of us live today.

  2. Just finished playing a good game of Buck Rogers Super Game on the Adam console

Forgot how fascinated I was with BR on both the Apple II and ColecoVision.

Fun and about the only thing I liked about ADAM.

  5. THAT'S RIGHT! Atari 800 Berzerk kicks total Atari butt! And for you dissenters - up your nose with your computer hose!

It's so much closer to the arcade version than the 2600 one, though that was also a good game. Dave Munsie did a ST version that's just like the 8-bit one which I played a lot.

I'll see if Youtube has a video of that version...

  6. Into the mancave tonight. So many systems with great games. I've got an Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, XE, ColecoVision, and Sega Genesis in front of me all saying "Play Me!" - which should I power up?

      Mind readers you guys are!

Plucked out 7800 Asteroids (for the HSC) and DKjr, then i'll go for the rings on Genny Sonic 2 with Knuckles.

  7. Anyone find that there are more tv channels dedicated to 'retro' tv shows from the 1960's, 70's, and 80's? It's great to see oldies like Batman, Wonder Woman, Welcome Back Kotter, Gilligan's Island, and the Love Boat. Some of the shows even include tech gadgets, computers, and video games from the era.

Where do I hear that today's shows are the best, do you mean? Usually from people who rave about the writing, the acting, and the overall quality of some hit show or other. I try watching those shows, and I just don't see it.

Here's the Top 25 list I mentioned, by the way:

  8. Ray of light on an otherwise lousy day - for a few bucks I got the rare Sega copy of Zaxxon for the C64 and it kicks total butt!

Tetris... I have seen many copies, but the changing picture of the Russian landscapes really added something to the game I think.

  10. Will be playing Atari 800 Moon Patrol, Super Cobra, and River Raid tonight.

    1. Paul Westphal

      Paul Westphal

Super Cobra seems hard to find. My copy has a crappy label.

      chuckwalla

Mine barely has a label, luckily it plays fine. They crop up on ebay pretty frequently it seems and it's no too pricey..

  11. A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing...

  12. Is it a slow start to holiday selling on ebay in a long time or what? Usually by late November the video game auctions are streaming non-stop!

      RickR

I've noticed things are selling for decent prices. A sign of an improved economy?

  15. Imagine Dirk Daring and Time Gal hooking up. Which hero (or villain) would the kid turn out to be most like? (or possibly just a drunk, coke snorting, couch potato with a cheesy mustache)?

  16. AG Holder to Russia: trust us, we won't kill or torture Snowden. That's like Chinese officials Sum Ting Wong and Ho Lee Fuk promising not to manipulate their currency...

    1. AtariTexas

      AtariTexas

Holder is the biggest numbnutz to ever hold that position

    2. Mxyzptlk

      Mxyzptlk

@BadHornet, yep I agree, and who the F cares if we torture this traitor? I know for sure Russia tortures who it wants, and for the life of me I can't understand why "torture" was even mentioned.

    3. jaybird3rd

      jaybird3rd

Yup. Holder is a jerk, but he's there to stay anyway, because he fits in so well with the current administration.

  17. Just played a great game of Phoenix and Zaxxon on MAME and now it's onto Atari 2600 Super Breakout and Circus Atari.

  19. Anyone use a decent but cheap (<$50) video capture device?

  20. Just saw this on Craigslist and I have nothing to do with this: 1976 Fairchild Channel gamming system in box never used - $295 - http://longisland.craigslist.org/vgm/3905880364.html

  21. Soon we'll all be able to regenerate most if not all of the organs of our bodies but can scientists discover how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?

    1. Bryan

      Bryan

It doesn't matter if they keep regenerating the Tootsie Roll Pop.
