  1. I am looking for a trust worthy person that can Mod my original Intellivision system. Looking for S-Video primarily, but if not available looking for at least an A/V mod? Any help would be appreciated.
  2. I have been finding some great deals on 7800 games, some carts and some brand new CIB. I just don't have a 7800 and am looking for a smoke free 7800 that has a S-Video mod. Would not need any games, but the 2 controllers, power, and of course the 7800 unit itself with S-Video mod.
  3. Thanks Bryan. What are some of the Happy compatible DOS that you mentioned?
  4. So what does adding the Happy upgrade do to the 1050 that makes it so much better?
  5. I recently just got back into Atari 8 Bit computers after being away for over 25 years and losing all my equipment in a fire. I found an Atari 800xl CIB and a 1050 Drive CIB for only $60.00 and both work great. Now that i have been using it for a little while, I want to ensure i have a back up system so I been looking and found a resonable priced 130xe computer that also bought and waiting on delivery. I will proably use the 130xe since it has more memory and keep the 800xl boxed up and have it just in-case something happens to the 130xe. The 130xe also is coming with a 2nd 1050 that I will use since the other has a box. But as a person just getting back into it, it has been a struggle finding things. In the area where I live, you don't see this stuff on Craigslist or anything, but I am moving to Idaho where there seems a lot more Retro stuff to be had.
  6. Larry- Do you have a link to the one you are referring too? Thanks!
  7. Speaking of the Disks and the 1050, the add-on board that you can add that is called the Happy. Would having one of those installed change which kind of disks i should buy? I am thinking of ordering the Happy since it is non solder add-on and looking at the instrucitons I should be able to add it in without issue.
  8. Does the Atari 130xe output S-Video through the Monitor out port? I have found some cables that have the monitor port on one end and on the other end it has a S-Video port but also R/W audio and Yellow Video. The site selling says that some 800xl could do it depending on when they were made, but they also say it should work on a 130xe. I just want to make sure before buying the cable and ordering a 130xe computer that a friend is selling. Thanks!
  9. PM sent. Would like to order one as well. Thank You!
  10. Thanks to everyone. I love the RGB one as a have a Framemeister that can make it work easily on my LCD TV. However, that one requires some skill that I do not have. I am hopeful someone is looking to make some money and will offer to install whatever I can find for me. I have to look into that plug n play one that mytek mentioned as well.
  11. Thanks, that is exactly what I am looking for..an entire internal mode that adds whatever internal things need to be added in addition to the S-Video port and whatever is needed to still have audio. Thanks again! Hopefully someone will step up and they will also make a little money for doing the job!
  12. So Tep, on Floppydisk.com they show under the header: New 5.25" floppy disks DS/HD MF2-HD "high density" DS/HD Not Formatted Box of 50 $29.95 Under that they show under the header: New 5.25" floppy disks DS/DD MF2-DD "low density" DS/DD Not Formatted Box of 50 $49.95 Since you said I need Double Density, I assume it is the bottom one I want? So they are low density disk, but double sided and double density. The top one says they are high density, but Double Side/High Density. Sorry if this is getting confusing, I just don't want to order the wrong thing. I prefer to order through Floppy since I can do it on-line right now instead of having to put in a fax/phone order at Athena. Thanks for your help.
  13. Gunstar, thanks and I guess I needed to be clearer in my needs. I am looking for someone to mod my system so I get S-Video out put and improved output. I thought if someone added the port, it would also add the internal re-wiring or whatever to improve the output. At the end of the day, I am looking for someone to mod my system so I get the cleanest output possible on the system.
  14. Yeah, I saw the cables, what I am looking for is someone or somewhere to send my Atari 800xl to have the "S" video port added to my computer.
  15. I am about to order, but which ones are the ones that will work flawlessly with the 1050 drive? Floppydisk.com has: In High Density: DS/HD 1.2 MB Formatted & DS/HD Not Formatted And the same in Low Density. I assume, it should be the high density ones? And on Athana.com they have some listed as 48tpi, 96tpi etc. Which ones on that site are the ones I want to order? Thanks!
  16. Hi All- I recently bough a used 800xl and it works great, but like many I am now looking for a way to improve the video out put other than R/F. On Ebay I see some are seeling an Atari 800xl with S-Video and from my research it seems that is the best output we can get. Does anyone know of someone that I can pay and send my 800xl and have the S-Video port added to my system? I do not have any soldering skills, so this is something I am not able to do myself. Or are there other enhancements such as a RGB mod? Thanks in advance...just getting back into the Atari computers since it has been over 25 years!.
  17. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I appreciate the feedback and most likely will order the one from the european site. What USB cable would I use with this, I am not familiar with the one on the device? My PC has standard USB 2.0/3.0 ports, but the one on this device looks squared.
  18. Nevermind...solved the issue. I ended up downloading a program called SD formatter and once i did that and then put the games back on the SD card it worked perfectly fine.
  19. Hi All- I downloaded the file on the first page with all the games and extracted them to the SD card. On my PC it shows all the games in the Game folder, but when putting the SD Card into the Portable and then pressing "A" on the SD card menu on the portable it says loading and then it goes back to the SD card menu. I decided to try another SD card and it does the same thing. It is just not reading the SD card at all. It tries, and I get a loading screen but it dumps back to the screen with the big SD on the left side. Anyone know what may be the issue or is my device just defective? Thanks for any help.
  20. Greetings all... I just aquired an Atari 1050 Disk Drive and it has been 25+ years since i have used one of these systems. I am looking on Ebay/Amazon for blank disks, which ones work with the 1050 DD? If you can link to the one I should buy it would be helpful. Thanks in advance for any help.
  21. I am very interested in this as well. I just recently acquired an Atari 800xl, my original with all my games and devices were destroyed in a fire over 25 years ago and found this 800xl sitting in it's box and a game store. Please let me know when/how I can get one of these. Please PM me any information you may need. Thank You!
  22. I am located in Santa Maria, California, but will be moving to Boise, Idaho early February 2017.
  23. I know I am late on this, but just recenty aquired an Atari 800xl (as in a few days ago). Are these carts still available to be ordered? Thanks in advance!!!
  24. Ages ago, I was heavily into Atari Computers, ran my own BBS and just loved it. While I had the Atari 1040ST, Mega ST it was the Atari 800XL that I loved the most. What I loved was that I had TON's of Disks with anywhere from 4-8 games per disks and I had over a 100 of these. It was a great time and unfortunately, there was a fire and I lost it all. That was over 25 or so years ago. I never got back into it because I could not afford it and things/priorities changed. I recently, as of a few days ago aquired a great working Atari 800xl and 1050 Disk Drive all it great condition with boxes and all. I am not sure if it is frowned up to ask this here, but I would love to get disks with games on them again. I am not sure where to look. I found a site that seems to have hundreds of disks with 5-10 games on each of them. They are downloadable, but have no clue how to move those from a current computer to a readible 1050 disks. I guess what I am wanting to ask is there any fellow Atari 800xl owners willing to help out a long time fan in getting 1050 disks with games on them? Thanks and I apologize if this is wrong to ask in this forum, I just don't know where else to ask this question.
  25. I cannot wait to get my Colecvision back from Yurkie. I have bought about 8 more games for my system to add to my collection of 30 games already. Looking forward to playing through my Framemeister. Last time I played my Colecvision was right before sending it to Yurkie and using RF was just rough looking, so looking forward to getting it back and enjoying it. I am also getting the controller modded like the poster above, so it is great to hear that they work out great.
