I apologize in advance for this question.. I have the RamboXL 256k installed in my Atari 800xl. I remember swapping out the 8 64k drams for 256k drams. Can this be done to get 320k? (using 320k drams x8) t

Ahh, thank you ? -
Hello, Not sure if this is the place to post this. I tried contacting the AA store using the message option. I purchased the awesome HB Galagon for the 2600. I would love to get the Rom of Galagon and put it on my Harmony cart. I can post pics of the Galagon cart, etc.. I remember I was able to do this when I bought Ladybug HB game a few years ago. thanks, thomas

They (can be up to) 96% more efficient than the linear voltage regulator such as the 7805's. They don't get as hot, no need for big heat sinks. From the site: "It can process 3A of current, typical ripple is 25mV and under ideal circumstances the regulator can be up to 96% efficient." It may have less 'noise'. I've even used them just to power some UAV mod boards. BTW, thanks for the heads up on the In & Out pins did not know!! ? t

Hi, I'm Installing the 5200 UAV mod and a few other things. One is I purchased (x2) 3Amp (adjustable) switching voltage regulators from dimension engineering. (They have the typical 5V switching ones but are 1Amp.) Here is the product page: https://www.dimensionengineering.com/products/de-swadj3 The oem ones on the 5200 I believe were 1.2A or 1.5A. The Ones I got (3Amp vers) I can dial them to get the 5v np. I was wondering If: - I could just use one of the 3A switching voltage regulators (joining together the inputs, outputs & GND's) - If the above won't work I can use 2 of them... - Should I be seeing 5v when installed powering the M/B components (and not a sum of 2 voltage regulators, say 10v?) Most of the time it's 5v but since the 5200 has 2 just wondering what to look out for. I'm guessing it's a need for more amps but same 5V... BTW, It's a 2 port 5200 & a new power supply I got from Best Electronics. thanks t

Really enjoying my S-Drive MAX! I'm having a problem seeing the files that I loaded to the corresponding ATR, CAS & XEX folders with the correct extensions. I see them on my PC but not while using it on my 800XL. The files I have are rather long & contain (). For example: Beach Head II - The Dictator Strikes Back (USA).atr The S-Drive MAX Uses 16bit (8 character) filename lengths? Not sure if this is causing them not to show up & possibly the - or the () Any help appreciated T

This is in S-video, When I try composite I get some crazy vertical lines but screen (READY) is visable Also the RF Modulator has been removed. Any help would be great t IMG_2956.MOV

Sorry to bring this thread back to life. Recently bought the Atari 5200 mod Kit on ebay and installed it into my 800XL. Has S-video and Comp. vid out signals. Works good but getting the vertical lines. I read a while back that this is caused by a too strong of a chroma (or luma...can't recall) signal. Any suggestions, hints or links where I can find how/where to remedy this on my 800XL board? Thanks, Thomas

Thanks for the reply Stephen np on waiting, really like using stella. I had one other issue using stella on my arcade cabinet (has S-Video TV). I get a runtime error when launching only a dozen or so roms. I did figure out it had to do with my resolution. In Windows 7 I use (480i) 720x480 and noticed by changing the resolution to (480i) 800x600 the games that didn't work now work but now other games that worked before don't...hehe Do you know why this could be happening? Thanks again, Thomas
