  1. Thanks for the reply, Well I have a whole bunch of emulators such as MAME, KAT5200, Nestopia(NES), etc... already working perfect as is on the hardware side for the spinner & trackball. The screenshot was taken on another computer I have just for trying things out(not setup to play). Tried just about all settings there on my arcade cab. But no big deal
  2. No, tried it....still have to turn the spinner more than I'd like to. In Kat5200 (Atari 5200 emulator), it was pretty easy adjusting it to use my spinner and trackball got it working really good . I really like Stella...still will use it even if I can't get my spinner and trackball working right :/ t
  3. Yes I believe so, the one under 'Game Properties' set to paddles and also adjusted the sensitivities here: Here is another settings menu:
  4. Is there a way to speed up paddle games, such as Kaboom!, controlled by mouse (I'm actually using a spinner) in Stella? *speed up movement of object controlled by mouse/spinner, so only takes a twist of the wrist to go from one side to the other. t
  5. I have an oscilloscope (still learning how to use it though). If someone could give me some suggestions on where to hook up/look at signals, I could post the image results of the scope here. Also what settings on the scope I should use, i.e. Line, Field, Odd, even, Line NO, coupling type, peak detect, average, etc... to use. thomas
  6. Was just wondering about this today as mine gets pretty warm, looks like a brick and has extremely small vents on the sides. Part # C061982.
  7. No, followed low_budgets v2.2 schematics value by value. Tried the gain (+5V on Asel) and it got worse and brighter. I tried swapping out GTIA and Sally (CPU?) since I had spares but nothing changed. Here is a video of it in S-Video mode: http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff249/thomas3120/Gaming%20Stuff/th_20140724110142_zps9e506e63.mp4 Also, The non cart blue screen with some writting.. The vertical lines are exactly the same width all across the screen...really uniform...don't get it :/ Any more suggestions are welcome, thomas
  8. Just want to thank low_budget for providing the video schematics. Just finished making the board everything works but image is a bit bright (Luma?) Also getting vertical bars/lines. Here's the circuit board: Here is a screen capture in Composite: Here it is in S-Video: Any suggestions on fixing the image? Btw, I noticed on the LHE 2600 mod he used 75Ω resistors to ground on the Luma, CV & Chroma outs: Open to suggestions or advice thomas
  9. Ohh boy..hehe a couple of years too late Thanks for the links though, those didn't come up in my searches. thomas
  10. Hello, I know this has been discussed a lot and have read various posts on improving video quality & adding s-video output. Looking at the schematics of the 800XL (only Atari 8 bit computer I have) and the Atari 2600, they seem somewhat similar. In the past I did a video mod (composite & S-video) designed by The LongHorn Engineer and the results (on my 2600) were amazing. Here is the schematic: It uses a CD4050 IC but also a FMS6400, which is a filter and video summer. The inputs of the FMS6400 are Y(Luma) and C(chroma) and outputs Comp video, S-video. The only thing(or one thing) I believe that is different in the GTIA (8-bit) is an added Luma signal. FMS6400 Datasheet: http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/FM/FMS6400-1.pdf CD4050 Datasheet: http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/27058/TI/CD74HC4050E.html Would this possibly work on the Atari 8-bit computers? thomas
  11. Hello, A while back I added an internal compact flash HDD into my Spectrum +3e. I did have to upgrade my ROMs to a '+3e' version to work but really enjoying it. The new ROMS have updated commands as well as fixes.. As I recall hooks up to the cpu (Z80) and a couple of 74XX ICs... Programs and games load in seconds Right now just using the simple 8-bit interface. Wondering if there is anything out there for, i.e., the 800XL? Here's the one on my +3e: thomas
  12. Hello, Spending the last couple of days looking through many webpages and here searching on the forums..but no luck. Looking for the pinouts, preferably with a picture of that connector that somewhat resembles a telephone connector with numbered pins, etc... Closest I got was "The connector has: *Signal GND *+5V (Input) *Reset (input) *Rxd/Txd (Input/Output) " No numbering or picture/diagram to go by. Any help is appreciated. thomas
  13. Hello, Attempting to fix an early MVS MV-1. Just got my UniBios & battery in the mail today. When I took the old battery out (NM-Cd 3.6V) I forgot to write down or take a picture of how it went back in as there are 2 adjacent solder pads on the positive side. Just wondering if anyone that has the MV-1 1 slot MVS could take a quick look at which solder pad hole the positive leg of the battery goes into. The solder pad closest to the battery appears to go through the mainboard to the back or solder side but nowhere else (but not 100% sure). The solder pad closer to the small 47uF cap (farthest away from battery) appears to be connected to the rest of the circuit. Any help appreciated, T
  14. Hey Guys, been busy lately with some unexpected repairs (oven went bad had to get and install a new one). Also a musician friend of mine had a 8 track recorder that needed fixing. I will get back to everyone that sent me PMs or emails ASAP in the order they came in. Thomas

  20. Hi, I had the same problem with one I got a while back. Mine also had some battery corrosion on the terminals which I cleaned off with some baking soda and a bit of water on a Q-tip. I also cleaned the pcb(s) with a pcb cleaner and replaced all the electrolytic capacitors (I think there are 4-5 in the gun). I may have also re-soldered some components with fresh solder. After doing this the Menacer worked fine. The reciever box seemed ok, I may have replaced the caps in there as well. t
  21. Hey Jeremy, no just trimming the collection a bit hehe. I have a few duplicate systems (& systems I don't use) as well as some games I never really play. Should have a for sale/trade vid up in a few days
