  1. Millipede Omicron Beamrider Juno First Demon Attack Robot Tank Tunnel Runner Missile Command Space Rocks Kaboom
  2. I kinda prefer the other ones cause the rainbow was quite signature of Activision's games. These don't have that.
  3. I'll check this out when I get time to. I feel the retro remakes circle is being too overshadowed. There's a Tunnel Remake remake I found recently, and I'm surprised it hasn't been already remade tons of times. I've also made a lot of Atari 2600-styled games (some are aimed to be highly authentic), but all everyone cares about are actual games that run on the hardware.
  4. Juno First seems to be popularly regarded as having one of the best Atari 2600 music, having the theme from the Amiga game Silkworm. I also like Medieval Mayhem and Omicron music, but they aren't uploaded to Youtube. The only 2600 VGM on Youtube are Juno First and a few old ones like Pitfall II, Moon Patrol, and ET, which leads me to believe Juno First is regarded popuarly as the best, cause no others are regarded (by others) to be "good enough" to get uploaded. I'd think about uploading, but i don't own the copyrights to them, which might also be a reason they aren't uploaded.
  5. No, it isn't. The Missile Command socks weren't a pair though actually, cause both had Missile Command on the same side, whereas the others were pairs.
  6. Some little Atari-related stuff I bought at Game (a shop) today.
  7. Has anyone made a hack of Vanguard using 2 joysticks (like Omicron)? 1 to move and the other to fire, and removing the slow movement thing when firing.

would be an excellent hack! Have a joystick coupler begging to be used for more than 7800 Robotron. :-)

Works with Stargate/Defender 2 as well.

      That would be pretty neato.

  8. Not originally an Atari 2600 title but... How about Space Duel? It was originally an arcade game and got ported to the Atari 7800 (great effort from PacManPlus) and Atari 2600 (that version was pretty bad though). Also Windows, by me.
  9. Battlezone and Tunnel Runner, I'd say. I always wished I was more able to dodge the enemy fire and ended up moving my physical self, and the latter used to be a bit scary for me. Still wish the 2600 had scarier ghost games. I imagine they could pull off a cool death scene by having the entire screen black and having a flashing ghost that teleports closer and closer to you as a game over sequence.
  10. I like arcade games, but my favourites all happen to be shooters, at least in the 2600. Good short fun. I'd also like a game I could beat too that has some sort of replay value, but since save points weren't a thing, you had to do those in 1 sitting.
  11. I probably already said this, but I was born in late 1995 and didn't have regular internet access until I was in First Form. I went to a website for Jimmy Neutron, a TV series I was into back then, and it had games, which turned out to be clones of retro games. This made the first video games I had contact with retro games. As someone who always want to find out the source of something, Atari 2600 and NES games were among the first bunch of games I found online, so I grew up playing 2600 and NES games on the internet. While definitely not as mainstream as the NES for "retro" circles, I think Atari still holds its ground.
  12. Actually I've tried it at both settings and even pressed reset after changing the difficulty. Neither A nor B shows any crosshair. On both the left and right difficulty switches too. Usually B is easy and A is hard by the way.
  13. It's been going on forever but the ball still seems to be only going horizontally... You sure you haven't overlooked something? The ball was basically bouncing against the two walls with nothing in between at the bottom of the screen.
  14. Just ran into a "problem" where 1 ball was essentially out of play cause it was bouncing absolutely horizontally across the screen back and forth and it's not posing any threat to any of the warlords. In theory then all the balls could be "stuck" and everyone would be left at an impasse because there's a maximum number of fireballs.
  15. Wow, great game! While I liked the original 2600 version of Zaxxon, I really liked this version! Why hasn't this been talked about more? I only heard of it today... Haven't seen the original Zaxxon robot but I suppose that's replaced by the tracking missile? Haven't gotten that far yet. Also the manual said if the "P1" difficulty is at B then there'd be a crosshair, yet both of the switches are on B and I don't see one... Has that been removed?
  16. They're going to be combined into a single file if this was completed, right?
  17. It'd be cool to get a hack based off of the 3D maze Windows screensaver... Maybe have the rats as the enemies and the final door as the smiley face, and other doors as OpenGL, with the walls being the bricks (though that would take away the colour variety the Atari 2600 is good at). Perhaps even a more sophisticated one with rocks added that turns the maze upside down (thereby requiring reversed controls)

  19. I'm kinda confused as to whether it is you or she who worked on it... I think the rails was the biggest improvement over the original.
  20. An updated version of Midnight Magic with more colourful stuff, more features, and stuff would be interesting to see, maybe have some more missions and lanes/overhead ball rail things.
  21. Gradient objects are in many games, like in Frankenstein's Monster. Also two prototypes come to mind: Venetian Blinds and Aquaventure. I thought flashing was iconic, rather than the bars, but Krull comes to mind with the moving bars.
  22. I'm looking to buy 2 sets of paddle controllers and I saw a set being sold at I think 158 US dollars.
