This one was a fun one to record. I'm always impressed how well these games are done and in 4k! Impressive.

This is freakin' amazing! Well done. Can't wait to get my mitts on this. You'll need to pop up a PayPal tip jar or something for this!

The left ctrl, left shift z and x keys are not working. everything else seems to work. I do not know if you can replace individual keys or not. Looking at these 2 radio shack keyboard replacements (that don't work) it seems TI keyboards are not user friendly components for dismantling (at least not the replacements). Let me know.
If it is the non-mylar style keyboard (the one with the contacts that touch when the key is pressed -- looks like two little fingers touching) I can use even a non-working keyboard to swap the parts. If it's the mylar style, I probably can't use it. I can send you pics if you can PM me an email address or check my pics on Twitter (@duhproject).

I should be receiving a half working keyboard soon. I don't know the mechanics of these but if individual keys can be replaced AND the keys you need work on the one I'm getting, I'd be happy to send them to you for cost of shipping.
That would be awesome! I have two different type keyboards now, so any type would be helpful.

I suggest taking the keyboard out and putting it out in a container. Then pour alcohol in the container to just under the bottom of the keys. Then cycle all keys up and down quite a few times. Let it soak for a bit then remove and let the alcohol drain and blow out as best you can. I have repaired many keyboards that were plagued with keyboard "bounce" using this method. The keyboard of course must be one with true switches. The cheap buck a bottle alcohol from the dollar stores work just fine.
Thanks for the tip. I've determined the issue on the beige TI I have is due to the white plastic sleeve being cracked on all the keys that get "stuck" when pressed down. I was able to fix it by gently melting the plastic corners back together. With that said, some keys register multiple presses when pressed just once. These were not the original keys that were getting stuck.
The silver TI I have is the membrane type and only three keys work. All the rest simply don't.

The development sub forum has a pinned section for development resources. I think that's great.
What I think we need now is another section here for hardware resources.
Something that's up to date with available hardware (parts also for diy projects) to buy now and maybe a legacy hard to find area at the bottom of the post with hardware old and older.
The newer part would have a link to the page to place an order along with a short description. At the top of the list could be projects currently in development with links to the forum postings relevant.
The old and older section cab have links to information about the hardware that is no longer in production.
For one, it'd be a one stop ship for folks like me looking to upgrade or mod. And for the old/older stuff a list of things to keep an eye out for on ebay, thrift stores or other...
A one stop shop for people looking to acquire hardware.
Don't know who is in charge of such things. I just think it would be a great thing to come across in a Google search and draw more people in as well a better serve those who arrive and are already here?
Not a bad idea. Would help me in my quest to find parts to get these TI-99/4A's running (like the keyboard).

I have a beige one that was sold at Radio Shack still in the bag. Never used.
Says "Originally for TI-99 Computer" on the packaging.
Thank you for the reply -- to keep my headache from getting worse and worse, I'd like one that is tested and working. But thanks!

Two weeks ago I jumped into the TI-99/4A world by grabbing a beige system locally for $10. Five keys stuck when pressed and it had the dreaded 2.2v GROM. I found a cheap silver and black TI-99 untested on eBay and grabbed that. Keyboard doesn't work (only the 1, 5, and space keys work). I was able to swap the GROM out and get the beige system running, and even fixed the keys to a point they are usable, but the entire keyboard is a bit sporadic.
Does anyone have a spare keyboard that works that they would like to sell? I'm okay with either beige or black at this point. I just need one that works reliably.
Thanks!

I have a MiST and absolutely love all the cores available to it (too many to list). A TI-99 core would be absolutely amazing.
