Never bragged about anything. Told you I don't give a fuck about value. Again, passing judgement on someone else's hobby. Please. Get help.
-
So I defend my hobby? Ok. And? Look dude, you dont give a fuck about sealed games. I do. But when you say shit like "people convince themselves it's rare" or "they are all nuts for collecting" its a shitty statement designed to belittle someones hobby. It's all passive aggressive cunty behavior. If that's what you really wanna do with your life go ahead. No one is stopping you.
-
Dude,do you need to talk to someone? You sound upset about how your life turned out.
-
This. I don't care what they are worth. I'm not collecting sealed games as an investment. People spend money on a hobby because it brings them joy,not money.
-
If you don't get it,then it's pointless to you, not to the people who collect them.
-
To complete a sealed collection.

Some collectors don't give a shit about games. They care about their value. You think all the people who collected beanie babies in the 90's played with them all day? ROM's are easy to come by. And some sealed games should stay sealed. Opening and playing Othello will bring me no joy. Trust me.

My post was referring to the collectors destroying doubles of original prints to keep the value high.

Go research movie poster collectors. They have the distinction of being in the top spot.

No one knows for sure. They are becoming more frequent in the public light however. Maybe some millionaire recluse bought thousands of copies on release and they are sitting in some mansion. There doesn't have to be an NDA but some buyers request them. I'll give you a quick personal anecdote to try and have it make more sense. There was a streamer I would watch regularly who had a loyal donator to his channel, lets call him "K". Over time, this K donated around $20,000 to the streamer. It was in public view as the streamer had a "top donators" list in view and K was at the top. Now, it became clear that this guy had a fuckload of money and people started begging him to donate to their channel and ask him for loans. K eventually asked the streamer to remove his name because that's all people did,was ask him for money. Now its not hard to see when someone has something perceived as rare that they might have lots of money or other rare items. There are scumbags out there who want to try and scam or ask for money when they know the person could "afford" to give it to them. In that light, its not hard to see why they would want to remain anonymous. Thus, the NDA. The big deal with stadium events in general is that its a rare/valuable cartridge that historically has been hard to come by. TL:DR - People want NDA's to remain anonymous. SE is hard to find in the wild.

Yeah I was comparing sealed to sealed. Not sealed to CIB or loose. -

Well until a new sealed copy actually sells, no one can say for sure. Maybe it only goes for 5k. Maybe in a year no one gives a shit about SE and it turns in to a fucking beanie baby. -

In my 15+ years of collecting this was the number that was constantly thrown out. I don't know anyone who could give you an exact number though. My guess is they would stick to a release schedule set by the publisher(in this case December 23rd 1986),but back then it wasnt as regulated as it is now so who's to say if some vendor put the game out early(or never?...) The test market theory I believe has been mostly debunked as they have been found all over the U.S and not one area like the Hudson Valley holds an inordinate amount of them. If 30 or 40 copies are found in the future in a box somewhere in Boise Idaho then I might be more inclined to entertain that theory. -
Ok that was good.
