  7. At this rate, it should be reasonably priced by 2026.

  9. Todd Rogers was the one involved in the Dragster controversy. Billy Mitchell's was Donkey Kong.
  10. This gave me a legitimate LOL in the office, so thanks much for that! Also, the mention of Kinko's had me wondering if HardWork will have Knight Rider 2600 ready for this things launch. Maybe the custom molded KITT steering wheel joypad is the controller issue that's been holding up the VCS development all along...
  11. They are going to launch a 2nd Indiegogo campaign to fund development of the 1st Indiegogo campaign project. The $3 million from the first campaign was only enough for the t-shirt run I think: What’s next? We want to announce a Linux open source project and encourage our backers, fans and interested parties to help us with something that will actually be part of the Atari VCS operating system. More on that soon. Until next time! The Atari VCS Team
  12. "720" was the name that many people used to refer to the 360's successor before it was developed to the point that an ad mockup for it appeared in the movie "Real Steel" which released in 2011.
  13. This is my favorite part. It's almost inconceivable that anyone would think that statement is a positive selling point for their brand. Makes me picture a typical Atari sales pitch going something like this: *Atari wakes up and goes through it's morning routine of cold calls: Atari: Good morning, we were wondering if we could take up a few minutes of your time with a business proposal? Potential Client: Who are you guys? Atari: We're Atari. We'd like to do this. Would you like to have a meeting? Potential Client: Wow, you guys are still alive? Sure, just stop by. At the meeting: Potential Client: How is everybody? Atari Exec # 1: Asteroids kind of putters around the house. SwordQuest sends her best. She couldn't make it. Potential Client: Yeah, I know... she's dead. Atari Exec #2: From the grave. She sends her best from the grave. We've become extremely spiritual... ever since she passed. Potential Client: I see... Atari Exec #2: But thank you so much for your kindness, brother. Lord knows we need family now more than ever. After the meeting: Atari Exec #2: Thank you. How many times are you gonna do this shit? Rule number 32: You don't commit to brand recognition of a piece of software unless you're absolutely positive that they have a pulse. Atari Exec #1: Rule 16: Give me an up-to-date software library. That was your mistake. You made me look like an idiot. Atari Exec #2: Rule number 76: No excuses, play like a champion.
  14. That's a weird chart they came up with. Firstly, where did they come up with the Switch being $375? It's been $299 since launch. And second, why put "Nintendo Games Only" under Switch, put PS4 have "PlayStation Store" and Xbox One has "Xbox Marketplace". Shouldn't the Switch have "eShop" in it's column? I'm sure there are probably other oddities, but the Nintendo column jumped out at me starting with the made up price point.
  15. "And when the debt is covered, it's often devoid of context: Toys 'R' Us just happened to borrow money, it proved to be a bad decision, and now the retailer is suffering the fate of imprudent borrowers everywhere. Rarely does anyone point out that debt was a deliberate Wall Street strategy." Toys R Us wasn't able to innovate or adapt after the LBO, because the interest payments they were making exceeded their profits, which left no money to re-infuse back into the stores.
  16. That wasn't Toys R Us as a company though. That was the 3 Wall Street firms that bought Toys R Us in 2005. "In 2005, three Wall Street firms paid more than $6 billion for the company, but only $1.2 billion came from their own pockets; the rest was borrowed. When Toys R Us was purchased, its new owners tethered that $5 billion of debt plus annual interest payments of $400 million to its neck. When the closing was announced, the retail chain still held about one-fifth of U.S. toy sales. The company was even turning a profit. But it could not overcome its overseers’ burden of debt."
  17. Technically, the Collectorvision Phoenix did have a licensing deal negotiated for the ColecoVision name originally. It was only dropped after a poll here revealed that more people in the ColecoVision community would prefer the name to be left off the product rather than any money whatsoever go to Coleco Holdings. Just pointing out that the name on the box does hold value to some people as a link to what they grew up loving, without associating it with the people currently squatting on the brand name.
  18. My other copy of Night Trap is from Sega CD. I agree about Late Shift. $12.99 is not a bad price for it, but it also pops up in the weekly discounts section of the eShop on occasion as well. Wales Interactive has another FMV game coming out called "The Shapeshifting Detective" which also looks interesting.
  19. Once I finish the story, that's good enough for me at this point. I finished Breath of the Wild and Odyssey, but I'm not going to take time away from playing other games in order to look for korok seeds and moons.
  20. My favorite TRS-80 CoCo cartridge games (now and then): Downland Dungeons of Daggorath Demon Attack Dragon Fire Canyon Climber Stellar Life Line Chess Pinball Monster Maze I used to greatly enjoy playing Color Baseball with my older brother in the mid-80's.
  21. I've been on the fence with this for a while, but I finally pledged for a console with Sydney Hunter CIB. I've been thinking of getting a modded ColecoVision for a while (I have a stock Coleco and an Adam hooked up to CRT tv's in my spare bedroom) anyway. The Phoenix would easily take the place of the ColecoVision Flashback that's currently attached to my living room flat screen. So, this ticks all the right boxes for me. Thanks and appreciation for TPR's videos, Pixelboy's e-mail, and the Collectorvision team who I've had good dealings with in the past. Best of luck for this getting fully funded.
