Coleco Chameleon .... hardware speculations?

I just looked up what became of the Mister Donut that was in the Giant Eagle shopping center near my old college campus. It's called Donut Connection now. -

Coleco Chameleon .... hardware speculations?

That's the officially recognized abbreviation for Mike Kennedy Day. Like XMas instead of Christmas. Not familiar with it? It's a national holiday. It was combined with President's Day since Mike Kennedy is as huge a figure to retro gaming as George Washington and Abraham Lincoln are to US history. -
Project Prometheus (a new ColecoVision compatible console)
Downland1983 replied to opcode's topic in Opcode Games
Bearing in mind your 87/88 update timeframe and Coleco's specialty at bringing home Arcade classics, my wish list would be: Commando (1985) Rolling Thunder (1986) Double Dragon (1987) Pac-Mania (1987) 1943 Battle of Midway (1987) -

Yeah, over ambitious to say the least. I still think it's a horrible design aesthetic to begin with. -

Well, you're talking about the same company that releases products with their own logo split in half at the wrong spot to read "ECO" ... "COL" at the bottom of their packaging. At least I hope it was not broken that way intentionally. And, no, the name doesn't wrap around to and from the back of the package: -
The New and Improved Super Game Module (aka 4th run)
Downland1983 replied to opcode's topic in Opcode Games
I was just curious seeing how many games there are out there. I've purchased and played quite a few myself. Even the ones that are listed as Back Order have shipped relatively quickly after placing the order in my experience. It's when they are permanently sold out is a real bummer. -

There isn't 1 game on Pixelboy's or CollectorVision's sites that interest you? Not even 1? -
my view on the console war (you know which one)
Downland1983 replied to 2600problems's topic in Classic Console Discussion
No way. Nintendo was the clear winner of that particular console war. Individually, both the NES and SNES outsold the Genesis in every major region (except Europe where Genesis barely edged them). Combined, the NES/SNES were a devastating combo punch from Nintendo. Start talking about software, and it's not even close. 13 SNES games sold over 3 million copies each. Only 2 Genesis games (both Sonic) can say the same. Not even from a sales standpoint, the SNES had the more memorable Gen-defining games. Super Mario World, Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past, Star Fox, Final Fantasy III, Donkey Kong Country, etc... Don't get me wrong though. I appreciate Sega as a console maker a lot more now than when I was a kid. I just recently started growing my Sega CD and Sega Saturn collections. But, Nintendo won that war hands down. -
Yeah, I'd have to agree with everyone else. The box isn't factory sealed or anything like that. So, I'd just pop it open and enjoy.

I just want to say that I also received my Super Game Module just before Christmas, and it was well worth the wait. Beautiful packaging, and now I can finally play the great games I've been ordering from Pixelboy. I confirmed the SGM worked on both my full Adam set-up and my ColecoVision. So, I would like to thank Opcode Games for bringing the SGM to life, Atari Age for taking the shipment orders, and also Team Pixelboy for being one of the sources of games that take advantage of it's abilities. Now, I have to add some CollectorVision games to my collection and keep an eye out of Opcode's other upcoming releases...

Yeah, it looks like the Fisher Price version of Ben Heck's masterpiece: http://www.retrothing.com/2006/01/ben_hecks_custo.html

"You also get some of the rarest titles, such as Oil's Well, Linking Logic, Alphabet Zoo, Congo Bongo, Coconuts and Donkey Kong Jr." You're also getting Donkey Kong Jr., one of "the rarest" ColecoVision titles.

Yes, I have had success ordering from eColeco. I was looking to order a particular item on the eColeco site last month. I sent an e-mail to confirm if it was in-stock or not. I received a reply the same day confirming that it was available. I completed the order process on the website immediately after and received the item within 3 days. Just be sure to e-mail them first to confirm they have the item you are looking for in stock.
