  6. For he remainder of the month I have zero access to my rig with its magic blue joystick. I'm done as well so at least I got to raise the bar for a while:) Good luck y'all!
  7. jwild's play style is interesting. I believe I hear keyboard controls and zero use of Photons! Wow! How? This game is a wonderful pick for the competition. It's certainly fun to play. Prime Directive: Easy to learn, difficult to master. Satisfied! Of course, we love to dissect the gameplay 35 years later... Issues I see: 1. The "3D" first-person viewer at the bottom is pretty much useless, and it's painfully 2D. No up/down. 2. You can kick ass without using Photons? WTF? Seems Photons should be necessary to kill certain enemies. 3. Firing Photons requires stopping forward motion. 4. No control over sector navigation. 5. It's not Star Raiders. Ha! 6. The boss level with Nomad is easy like an intermission sequence. 7. No enemy explosions? 8. I believe the arcade version had a third sequence where you navigate through an asteroid field? Not here. So... which feature(s) would you guys add if you were brainstorming for Star Trek 2? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  10. Nice! Past 500k a lot depends and where the ships are placed to begin each round.

  13. NOMAD: He's not a formidable boss. Just rotate with forward velocity while holding down the fire button. I don't think NOMAD has ever killed me???
  14. When they begin to swarm you just hold the fire button down and rotate into them -- don't run or introduce any forward velocity. If you do they'll chase you and rear-end you -- poof!
  15. Pro Tip: Shoot one single blue spaceship on the second screen to break out of the 4K range. <insert snicker>

  18. https://youtu.be/YwQL1-CZGO8 This ^^^^. Note: The BASIC compiler has been improved since I filmed this video. New Compiler2 is much easier and faster. This will give you the big picture.

  21. Another lesser-advertised feature of the compiler is how it will compile BASIC code in excess of the 24K limit for XB. This allows the user to code, compile, assemble and run BASIC programs which won't normally load and run under XB or XB256, due to size constraints. So... it does more than speed up BASIC code.
