  1. Howdy Amigos! I’ve cleaned and restored a number of retro computers but not the elusive random Amiga find. Just found one locally and wonder if you can help me price the lot. Any and all helpful comments appreciated. Buyer asking $750 which seems very (extremely) high for the filthy condition. System produces video but buyer hasn’t tried any disks, so he says. What’s a fair price?
  2. I'll take a better look at the compilation -- thanks! Noted: There are several degrees of aviation related games in the mix. Solo Flight is indeed a program from my Apple][ collection. Good eye my friend! My own aviation career began in 1980 with "flying" SubLogic's Flight Simulator on the Apple ][. I used MS Flight Sim for Mac (1988-89) to practice flight profiles and pacing while in USAF training. Today I use the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator for familiarity with new airports as they're added to my airline's network. Most recently getting acquainted with Palm Springs, Chicago O'Hare, Savannah and our five destinations in Hawaiian Islands. It's also useful when teaching my nephew the basics during his civilian flight training program. I'm a fan of all aviation related games/sims. Diamondhead, Hawaii
  3. Hey Petar! Nice work... I'm planning a video survey of the ST flight simulator offerings. Any chance you can help me with any UltraSatan compatible versions? my ST collection so far.... Flight Sim II Falcon Eliminator Strike Force Harrier Skychase Lancaster Skyfox Flight of the Intruder F-15 Strike Eagle F-15 Strike Eagle II Gunship Red Lightning High Roller F-16 Combat Pilot Orbitor F-29 Retaliator Mig-29 Carrier Command Jet Solo Flight F-19 Battlehawks 1942 Their Finest Hour Chuck Yeager's Combat Flight Simulator - James
  4. This is perhaps my issue then? Not being an ST User until recently, I find this fact less than obvious. Tomorrow I’ll set the GoTek jumpers to disable the GoTek’s drive B. Then I shall be in business with an active external drive, I hope.
  5. This is what I assumed as well. Thinking back, I accomplished the GoTek install BEFORE I purchased the external drive. I believe the jumper settings on the GoTek drive may be set to enable drives A and B. This may be the case which results in a conflict with the external drive B?
  6. I was hoping I could simply run the GoTek as floppy drive A with the floppy external as drive B. Right now the GoTek emulates both drives A and B. Perhaps by some simple settings the GoTek B drive can be eliminated?
  7. Anyone here know how to get my system to recognize an external SF314 floppy drive? My system: 1080 STe with GoTek installed in place of the internal floppy and UltraSatan external. I’d like to back-up floppies from the SF314 to the GoTek or UltraSatan, or at least be able to boot from the external to play disk based games, or copy from floppy to UltraSatan. thx - James
  8. I’d argue it’s easier to design new games now with modern context aware editors, cross-assemblers, and emulation. The process of code-test-improve has been streamlined significantly.
  9. Congratulations on a great technical achievement but how many versions of Doom does the world need? I’d be more excited about a NEW game with a creative new game element. Digital karaoke like this is technically superb yet leaves me feeling like this sort of thing is more of a demo than a game. Game design calls for a special form of creativity which is completely abandoned in projects like this. Why not try to write your own game? Why develop all that skill and just use it to clone someone else’s game? Cool demo. I’m left wishing more of the “new” games for the ST were new.
  10. That was the best episode and frankly, the show just jumped the Shark Shark after that. Good riddance Intellivisionaries.
  11. That there’s a funny game! Bravo for getting another title in the can. You’re really developing an eye for sophisticated entertainment. Nephew and I both broke into tears over the hilarious gameplay! He asked me why someone would do such a thing. Great sounds! The target (bum) should flash red each time you get one in there. Turd drop was fair for a few levels but then gameplay just went into the toilet. Overall: Four Flushes out of Five.
  12. Agree. Disappointing as he’s a Texan from the DFW area as well. Seemed completely disinterested in the 99/4 story as he documented “Texas Tech History” which was a four-part series featuring a few seconds of TI-99/4A mention and ONE MINUTE of conversation about Texas Instruments place in that history. Everything in one minute? He spent maybe five seconds mentioning the TI-99/4A. Just enough time to show a still photo of his trophy 99/4 he never powers on. David’s programs are usually excellent otherwise.
  13. Truth be told, I installed it and then had to read the instructions twice to get it working. Install was slightly a pain in the posterior, equivalent to what one imagines a butt plug would feel like if one were to have felt it — ever. The utility it provides is worthwhile. Module Creator 2’s utility that is.
  14. I hear @arcadeshopper is going to make a how-to video. With Module Creator 2 all you need to know is the name and location of the first E/A file. Easy. That’s the point of the app. Module Creator 2. It’s listed under Fred’s Modules menu not the Projects menu.
  15. Damn you @OLD CS1!!! You responded as I was editing the post. We must have plugged 1,000 butts over donuts and coffee. Surprisingly addictive. Move over flappy bird. First synthesized turd noise I believe.
  16. Yet another successful meetup for the Valley of the Sun TI Users Group. It appears we once again enjoyed 100% attendance by all members. Congratulations y’all! Topics covered: Sparkdrummer brought his GRAM Kracker thingy to demo yet forgot a console to plug into. Apparently it’s not Classic99 compatible. @sparkdrummer This POS PEB cable extender never worked. Cheap plastic connectors discussed. Buyers beware. Too bad Greg doesn’t offer a solution @arcadeshopper Played Hunch Back and discovered vertical non-flexing rope = the devil. @Retrospect Sometimes a game just grabs ya! Restless II is so pretty it hurts. Explosion bliss 99er! @sometimes99er Sparkster couldn’t grasp why he couldn’t play the Demo from some dude named Tursi? Great music had the donut shop rocking so it didn’t matter. @Tursi SEGA!!! And finally, near the tail-end of the meeting we booted up the Edutainment title of the month: So cheeky. @Retrospect How this game came out of the UK and not Germany I’ll never know. Overall — great meetup. Come join us next month. Coffee’s on us!
  17. I want to get one but the one I have is a POS. Tried it plugged directly into the console and no-dice. It fell apart when I pulled it out. Crappy plastic connector cap came undone. So….no pressure but we’re all waiting for you to find two minutes to try it out. @dhe
  18. @jedimatt42 has a keyboard replacement as well. https://jedimatt42.com/tomy.html
  19. Holy crap! Are you from the future?
  20. Maybe shoot a few photos of the entire SMU archive situation? That would be nice to see and helpful for others who may visit after you.
  21. Bottoms up! The download counter thingy is broken. Just downloaded it and it didn’t increase.
