  1. Tell me about it... I was one of the lucky 20 people who had their orders get corrupted in the shipping service database for the 2nd batch. After bitching about it to analogue on twitter for a whole week they finally decided to look into it. Mine is gonna ship out on monday now even if I preordered it the 2nd week of Feb. Hope it doesnt get stuck in limbo for 10 days like yours.
  2. With all the talk about a genesis FPGA I was wondering if anyone tried the retro-bit Genesis to SNES cart adapter (retrogen). I wonder if it works on the super nt as I have a pretty extensive genesis cart collection.
  3. For what it's worth, I already own a 1-chip snes, a framemeister and the rgb cables, yet I still ordered a super nt for convenience and added features. I also occasionally have issues with my snes where if the cart isn't shoved in just right and tilted slightly towards the front the game won't show up on screen. I don't think it needs to be either have one or the other, and both are great options.
  4. Ask and you shall receive v4.4 notes: - Cheat codes tool added. It’s under “settings” “tools” “cheat codes”. You can enter up to 6 codes. Entering the cheat menu will disable codes (so you can enter them, change them, etc. without crashing the game) and exiting it will enable codes if they are enabled via the check boxes.
  5. I have a recent samsung TV and it is the only option I can find that resembles RGB limited/full range also.
  6. I hope you know japanese. I personally own Star Ocean for the SFC and used to use it with the translation patch on the retron 5. I have since built myself a repro with the translation for use on my snes. Looking forward to seeing if it works on my super nt once it arrives.
  7. It is eventually going to happen. New generations aren't attached to physical media. People who love it will keep their collections unless they encounter difficult financial times. Most of the people who got into the current collecting mania trend just because it is trendy and they like playing a game or two like once every six months will eventually sell. I already see allot of people who acquired large quantities of retro games in the past few years and went way over budget selling it all off on facebook groups. It's not about IF it will happen but WHEN.
  8. So I decided to bite the bullet and grab me a super nt, Now the waiting game begins for when the SFC edition will be back in stock. How good are analogue for adding stock to their website? Should I expect these to be available for pre-order soon or could it take quite a while? I am asking cause I could always buy the black one but really want the SFC as I find it nicer than all other models.
  9. Ok fine, that clears things up. Since I was quote I figured it was pointed towards me as well.
  10. For what it's worth I never belittled you or your opinion, never called it stupid or said it was garbage. I simply stated that in my opinion adding the 32x to a FPGA console wouldn't be logical or cost effective and implied that the demand for this type of added feature would be low. We are simply exchanging opinions here and I am pretty sure I was absolutely civil about it. If my opinion offends you, ok, but no need to put words in my mouth.
  11. Honestly I don't see what the whole fuss about the 32x is. The 32x only has like 5-6 good games anyway. I don't think it would be logical or worth it to double the cost and DEV time of a Genesis FPGA for those. Just my opinion.
  12. Ok thank you, I am still on the fence about it, really want it to be 2 tone like the artist renderings. I am currently poundering if I wait for more SFC editions to be on pre-order which would most likely mean getting mine around April or grabbing a black one for the 1st of March. Decisions... decisions...
  13. Hey everyone, I have a quick question for people who already got the console. is the black super nt two tone or a uniform black? From the artist renderings it seems like it is two toned which looks nice. However in serveral video reviews it seems like it is just a uniform black which I don't like as much. I was going to go for the SFC edition but seeing how it is now sold out... the only other colour option I like seems to be the black.
  14. Wow, this got out of hand quickly. Sorry everyone for bringing up the subject of JB in this thread again and speculating about it. My intentions was not to start this thread war
  15. You might be right, I could see that side of it also. I guess we are now playing the waiting game.
  16. Hahaha An unofficial, leaked, anonymous release could happen.. you are right. If this is because of company policy I would hope it does... but you know if they have a good thing going as business partners there is less chance of this happening. Would you put a partnership like this at risk? There aren't that many people who could provide this in a short time frame and it would raise suspicions.
  17. I agree with you, seems unlikely for those consoles. I could see a Atari 2600 or SMS though as I think there would be a market for those and it would not as complicated for them to produce as the cores are already working on the nt mini FPGA. They could probably make it with the same materials as the super nt also and remove analogue ports to make it more cost effective. Yet it would require modifications to the board for the cart slot and probably a bunch of other stuff I know almost nothing about, but seems like it could be done pretty quick and be profitable. I see a much bigger market for other 16 bit consoles like the Genesis or TG16. The possibility that someone else releases a jailbroken firmware is possible but that would most likely take allot more time and I, personally, would be more on the fence about it. If Kevtris doesn't release it it wouldn't be a buy for me at least.
  18. I guess I made a mistake here as I wasn't around looking this stuff up when the nt mini came out (because of price) but what I really meant to say is that it seems, judging on the videos I have looked up on the nt mini and other posts that at the time Kevtris was pretty open about how the jailbreak firmware was a possibility or in the works around the time the nt mini was released (not the analogue nt but nt mini). I could be totally wrong about this though. I get your point about full time employee VS part time employee/contractor but I still feel like it seems like the is something else going on and analogue might not be AS open to the idea as they were with the nt mini. Maybe it's because at the time the nt mini could not support 16 bit cores and that's what they had planned as being the next move. Now that the nt mini and super nt are out they most likely have future plans and releasing a jailbroken firmware may not be in their best interest. Didn't know about the Z3K update, as I said I didn't go through all 260+ pages of this thread. It saddens me to hear that. At the same time it also adds a bit of weight to my previous point. I guess only time will tell.
  19. The more I think about it, the less I think we will be getting a jailbreak firmware. First time around with the mini nt we got confirmation pretty early on that it was coming. The silence on this matter makes me believe that things have changed. If I am not mistaken when the mini nt release Kevtris wasn't an employee of Analogue per say but now he is. There might be some legality issues regarding him releasing these now that he is officially an employee and not a third party releasing these on the side. I also think that analogue probably has some future plans/projects coming up to keep the ball rolling on these retro FPGA-based systems. I could easily see them releasing a FPGA version of sega consoles next or any of the ones that are more popular in the FPGA cores Kevtris has already built. Also... considering the original topic of this thread, if Kevtris is planning on releasing this all-in-one FPGA system in the future, it would be counter-productive if there was already a system out there being able to do mostly the same thing as his own product. Only few people would most likely buy the Z3K for the added options since most of us are buying up the analogue super nt. Just my opinion. For now I am holding off on the super nt. I will be looking at this thread regularly to one day pick up a Z3K. I just find there isn't quite enough there to justify the price for me considering my current setup with framemeister and 1chip snes. Don't get me wrong, the work Kevtris put in is simply amazing. A marvel of engineering for sure. And the amount of time of effort he spent must have been immense. I also love the support he is providing, with quick firmware updates to keep everyone happy. Truly, on those aspects the price is justifiable and hope as many people as possible pick it up to encourage him. If I didn't have the framemeister I would be buying one for sure.
  20. Hi, I expect this question to have already been touched upon, but can't seem to find using search and this thread is pretty long so... I am currently looking into purchasing an analogue super nt by Kevtris and I am very interested in the possibilities it might someday offer. I find it a bit expensive but considering the work that went into it and what it has to offer it still seems like a solid investment. I was wondering if there were already plans made to provide buyers with jailbreak firmware as there was for the analogue nt ? Last go around I went for the AVS instead of the nt mini as I didn't have the cash to dish out around 300$ more for the better hardware. At over 200$ CAD, this is still pretty expensive but I could live with that if it gave me the possibility to ''hardware simulate'' most of the 16 bit and 8 bit era consoles on it. I also hear some adapters were being worked on for the nt mini to play actual cartridges for other 8 bit consoles, did these ever come to fruition?
