  1. You claim my posts are nonsensical and yet you've never once defended the random nonsense you spew when it is refuted.... I could make a killing educating you if I charged by the hour.
  2. Everything you said was simply inaccurate. There is nothing personal about me pointing it out because I don't have the energy to care about every single person that is wrong on the internet. Sometimes I attempt to educate them but it is abundantly clear that is going nowhere as you just say a few random things and never bother to back them up when refuted and insist you are correct, and now that I have something personal against you. Very poor attempt at a smokescreen to cover up for you having no clue what you're talking about.
  3. You mean like your claim adapters would require Analogue to change their product line despite the fact that they plug into existing hardware? Or how it "completely goes against their company philosophy" to have adapters for cores that they have said they want people to be able to use? Or how they wouldn't release an adapter like how Apple doesn't release them, except Apple requires them for basic functions of their devices and Analogue has already said on twitter they are considering making their own dac? I'm positive one of us has a complete lack of substance to everything they say, the thing is, it's you.
  4. I said I was fine stopping the back and forth but then you responded with more nonsense. Analogue wanting users to be able to do whatever they want with their products is the exact and polar opposite of the Apple philosophy. To break it down for you even further think of it like religion, Jesus gooddd, devil baddd. Analogue = excellent company mentality, Apple = literally the worst. Apple's "necessity" is them prioritizing form over function. Analogue would be releasing a dac because the crt market is a niche group of gamers and the large number of people looking for hdmi will save costs that way and those that want a dac would need to pay for that part anyways. For the third time I never said Analogue would release the adapters, just that if you want to use the proper controllers with the nt mini you would still need adapters just like you would need with the super nt so they are on the same footing in that aspect. Me being right has nothing to do with luck because Kevtris already has prototypes for them, he simply held them off because of the super nt. You being wrong also has nothing to do with luck because releasing them won't require a hardware change/new product line or violating any company philosophy. I'm right and you're wrong because of cold simple facts. Let me know when you're done. Agree 100% a jailbrake would be a ridiculous idea. What would you even drive in jail that would require a brake?!?
  5. Analogue already said they might be making their own dac so that rules out a no adapter policy, which Apple uses in spades btw, releasing laptops with a single port on them so you have to by a dongle, and phones without headphone jacks so you need to buy $40 adapters. And you've already listed multiple other ways they differ from Apple. I'm not sure why you bothered to make that comparison at all. But I do agree that with Leods that we should try to keep this thread as free of back and forth speculation as possible. Sadly Analogue doesn't feel like giving us any answers and it isn't like we are going to get any from each other. I'll save my "I told you so" until then.
  6. You never explained your reasoning except to say that is was unofficial but that obviously doesn't change the hardware the product comes with, require a change to the product line, or give any indication about company philosophy.
  7. You can think that all you want but you have absolutely no proof or logical train of thought to back that up, at least not that you've expressed so far. And you certainly can't say that it completely violates their company policy or that they would have to change their product line in any way for it.
  8. lol, really? We were never arguing about if they were an official release, we were arguing that you said Analogue would have to "completely change their existing product lines and company philosophy for!" to support adapters that... plug directly into their existing product line with 0 modification and that the same philosophy that allowed the jb cores was somehow deadset against adapters to support controllers for those very same cores! You seem to have somehow managed to confuse Analogue officially releasing something or not with it violating everything about who they are as a company and requiring them to change anything. Assuming that I am correct about the Nt Mini being obsolete and out of production now that also provides a clear reason why Kevtris didn't bother to release the adapters and decided instead to wait for the Super Nt.
  9. They were released. Not sure you understand what that means...
  10. You mean like how Kevtris talked about basically everything single other core while he was working on it? Guess none of those will be released either because they "aren't supported by Analogue"... oh wait
  11. You only had one other point! And that other point was "they didn't talk about it" because evidently you've never heard of a "leak" which has become weaponized publicity in recent years, or just being transparent which is a strategy a lot of companies use.
  12. That doesn't change anything about what it can do or why people bought it. I seriously doubt more than 5 people bought it just to be a $500 nes clone. I'm equally sure Analogue is aware of this and to not embrace it would be suicidal for their company. What about the interview where when asked about the sd card slot Analogue says they want users to be able to do whatever they want with the console? Or the fact that Analogue made no move to prevent the cores even though they could have locked the firmware? And I have no idea what your third point is supposed to mean. Like they loosely controlled the marketing and reveal because they are not interested in building adapters? What does that mean and what is the supposed correlation between those two things? If anything they tightly controlled the reveal because we still don't have a jb confirmed, but I fail to see your correlation between tightly controlled marketing and reveals and adapter releases.
  13. "Official" Implying that Kevtris making adapters was previously against the Analogue product lines and company philosophy based on... what evidence exactly? Afaik he simply got busy with paid work aka the snes core. When they are finished Analogue might even stock them, if not why would it matter where you buy them from as long as they work?
  14. The nt mini needs adapters as well to fully make use of any of its supported cores other than the nes core, the only difference is the super nt can have better adapters.
  15. Not sure I entirely get what you mean but I know a rgb modded nes into a ossc worked on my current display so I don't see why a native clock speed nes core over native hdmi wouldn't.
  16. It is considerably less clunky than the nt mini as the controller ports should be if anything capable of receiving more data than the nes ones or at the very least certainly not less data. And the fact that it is considerably more powerful yet costs less does not make it "cheap" in any negative meaning and is something to be exalted.
  17. They won't do it because other than the controller and cartridge ports the super nt is the exact same product but with a better fpga in it. So investing the money to make a shell for obsolete hardware would be a major loss for them. At best we will see a universal version of the console with the ability to plug controller and cartridge adapters in it and have it look natural but they've given no hints they plan on doing it. My best guess would be that the nt mini is probably out of production. That bodes well for super nt getting a jailbreak though.
  18. Well it is entirely possible that this is just a break between batches, but on the other hand it is also entirely possible that Analogue plans on making cart adapters and an analogue out version/dac for the super nt and that would make the nt mini completely redundant so they would no longer have a need to stock it.
  19. I really think the best option is to have the option to run at native clockspeed because if your monitor supports it (and more and more do) then that is going to be the path of least resistance.
  20. In the extreme bottom left of the page is a "theme" drop down menu. Many people use the dark theme to avoid staring into blinding white light. You happen to color your text the exact color of the dark theme so it is completely invisible.
  21. Basically instead of distributing roms Smoke is switching to a 100% legal program that simply renames and organizes roms how he would set them up. It does this by recognizing hashes (think little built in id numbers every file has) so as long as the id says the contents of the file match what he is looking for it will make sure the file gets named and moved properly regardless of what name it has, and even if it has the same name as something in his packs if the hash (once again think id number) doesn't match it won't move that file incorrectly, which makes it obvious if you have the wrong file. For the vast majority of a pack just downloading the "goodroms" or "no intro" version would set things up as you would want but the issue is that (imo and probably many others as well) one of the most amazing appeals of the packs is that it includes a very detailed database of pre-patched, pre-translated, hacked, and homebrew games (as well as tools like the 240p test suite and the everdrive/analogue system files) which would require anyone wanting to build the list from scratch to track down and do all of that themselves. Luckily however this means that his lists will never be taken down and vanish from the internet, or that he would get in potentially life ruining trouble for just being a genuinely awesome guy and as long as the lists are around if any single fan of them feels up to it they can make the complete packs available to everyone and if anyone gets a take down notice they can just pass the baton. Right now for example someone has already uploaded them on an archiving site which I won't name in this thread (but has been named in Smoke's thread on epforums). tl;dr: I really hope everyone can see how amazing it is that the Smokemonster packs are now preserved forever in a completely legal way and if anyone wants to download them the only thing that has ultimately changed is where they are located. Please don't be distasteful and insist that the man that has given literal hundreds of hours to researching and archiving these lists should host them himself and put himself at risk when he has already done so much for everyone.
  22. I think you're underestimating the rate that technology progresses at. I give it a few years until the hardware exists. The psio is about a fairly simple install but considering what a pain in the ass they are to get ahold of I wouldn't risk it. Ideally I wouldn't learn to solder on anything you want to work later. It's a skill with a fast learning curve but you jump the wrong pin, bridge something on accident, or cut the wrong trace and you could fry everything. I'd suggest learning by putting like a $5 region free chip in a $20 gamecube or something for practice. Also if you look past Voultar's personality and strangeness he has a lot of great soldering advice on his youtube channel. (this is advice for a PsOne but much of the advice is universally good practices to follow when modding)
  23. I don't feel it is that ridiculous. We just got reached the snes generation and with the next generation starts the rise of cd based systems like the neo geo cd, tg-cd, sega cd, saturn, and ps1. Even with the n64 (or msu audio patches for the snes) 64gb sd card limits becomes an issue.
  24. I'm aware of and own a psio, as well as a gdemu(dreamcast and I have the broadband adapter), wasp(gamecube), rhea (saturn), and thinking about picking up a super sd system 3(turbografx). My concern is simply getting the games for those systems sorted in a way that is user friendly and able to work on a sd card. Having playlists/favorites that would work for everything xbox, wii, ps2 & later would be perfect but as you said I'm unsure of if they would work on the turbografx, dreamcast, saturn, ps1, and gamecube. So those 5 systems are in this strange middle territory where it isn't practical to just copy the games a bunch of times and it also doesn't seem likely they'll get a playlist feature. (Also the sega cd if that ever gets an ode)
