  1. Newsdee, I'm still updating my SD card and hardware wiring and haven't tried it yet. You are good to ask since you have both. Do you feel the core is already on par witrh the real hardware like the MegaSD is for Sega CD (I haven't tried the Sega CD mister core yet)? I have a recapped PC Engine and a TG16 that is soon to be recapped. I've held off on getting Terraonion's flash cart. Though I know it is an awesome device, do you think the MiSTER core makes the Terraonion solution redundant for most? I may just keep my turbo everdrive and PC-Engine for original hardware.
  2. I got my Blisster board and installed it! Please ignore the text on the USB 3.0 picture. I read above that this connects to the IO board. So the Blisster only FULLY works if you also have the IO board? I take it I can connect the Bliss box adapters to use original controllers, but if I want lag free, I need the IO board and plug that USB3.0 wire's other end to it. Maybe I missed that requirement in the documentation. I do think the Blisster board's cardboard picture insert it came with should include a note about powering and the included cables if I were to be nitpicky. Am I correct in assuming I power from the wall to the BLISSTER power in, and then run the double male cable as pictured to allow power passthrough to the DE10-Nano, thus enabling BLISSTER's side power switch? If I ignored that cable and power switch, could I just run my double power cable (from my old usb hub days) as pictured and skip the BLISSTER's power output? I am just being cautious not to damage anything.
  3. Newsdee, you have been such a wealth of information over the years. Thank you again!
  4. I suppose I won't know until I try it myself. I will order one and see how it goes. Thanks for the input!
  5. Do you know a compatible alternative? Anything to watch out for if buying a replacement?
  6. Interesting. Now I really wonder what specific negatives people have with the Blisster. The standard USB ports on the Blisster would also have the same functionality and feature support of those on the usb hub I'd assume. I've heard of SNAC and am guessing through usb it wouldn't matter which device I used. I don't have enough people to play 7 player Bomberman or anything if such a thing exists... Do people dislike Blisster only because it has less usb ports than the official hub or is it for other reasons? Buggy? Failure prone?
  7. Question re: Blisster board vs USB hub. I had the USB hub and sold it to get a Blisster being that I already have a Blissbox with most/all the adapters. I heard MadLittlePixel give brief mention that he disliked the Blisster. So if you already have my setup, is it a no brainer to buy the Blisster or is there still reason to consider re-purchasing the USB board instead? I haven't found any reviews of the Blisster, nor know WHY MadLittlePixel disliked it so much, so any 'cons' to consider before purchase would be great to know. Thank you.
  8. I already had a MiST and eventually got a MiSTer. I like them both, and have the MiST hooked up to a 90s VGA monitor and my MiSTer sitting where I can go HDMI to the flatscreen, connect to another VGA monitor, or use a converter for the big CRT tv.
  9. Hello I am looking to find a replacement power switch for a pressure washer that makes me think some of you might have seen similar in an arcade cabinet. The side of this "rocker switch" says Jaiben 160336 which fits internally in a SunJoe SPX3000. An external plastic switch has a bit that rubs up against this internally to select on or off positions. There are 4 metal posts to attach wiring and I assume a six post with two unused might also work. It fried and I am looking on ebay and aliexpress for a direct replacement (and Digikey) or something that would work in it's place. I've come up empty so far on originals, but am looking at these: Aliexpress 1 Aliexpress 2 Preferably something that is water resistant but the plaster outer body of the pressure washer should be sufficient. The Pressure washer without a plastic shell at its basic components is a GFCI circuit breaker, a long wire to this mentioned power switch, with pos/neg leads to the motor/pump assembly. Some water got in the body which shorted it out with a burning smell. Disassembly showed the pos/neg leads at this power switch had some melting and smoke smell coming from the power switch. I hope to repair this for a friend.
  10. Thanks for clearing things up in answering the first question. That is a funny business decision. I suppose Xbox didn't do much better with naming. I answered the third part on my own- sort of. Indeed compression is used when converting REDUMP bin/cue files to .PBP, but I have yet to find if that makes it LOSSY or LOSSLESS in terms of converting back to bin/cue (think MP3 vs FLAC). To be archival-standards safe, I will keep my zipped bin/cues which at least saves some space over unzipping. I wondered why the ".PBP" extension name instead of ".PSX" then learned this file format is what the PSP handhelds use as if the games were official PS store purchases. I suppose ".PSP" was taken already? Anyway, ETA Prime has a great video on said file format which is good for easy disc-swapping in emulators for multi-disc games. It would be interesting if you could somehow burn .PBP files to a CDR and play them on a real PSX. Does anyone know the current number of games if following the Hyperspin model of USA, then European exclusives and then Japanese playable and translations etc.?
  11. Having skipped the Sony Playstation generation of gaming, I've had some fun on AutoBleem on a PSX classic and have original hardware now for PS1/2/3. First question (I can and will look it up, but feel free to jump the gun if inspired): Why is the first Playstation console generally named 'PSX' instead of 'PS1' like it is for all successors? There was even a PS One revised console, and in other history the name PSX was given to a Sony DVR. Second: REDUMP's PSX dat file seems to have been updated TODAY. Anyone know a good .DAT to .XML converter or do you already have a good up to date .XML to use for Rocketlauncher or otherwise to organize roms? Hyperspin's Hyperlist XMLs seem years old so I hope some may advise if I should be using an XML of No Intro vs Redump. I am sure a Smokemonster pack would be LONG away from reality. Next, a question on best archive file format: I am not familiar with the .PBP file format the Playstation Classic Autobleem image I have uses instead of bin/cue etc. Is this a disc image like a .CHD conversion? Does Autobleem support .zip or bin/cue? Currently, my REDUMP library is .zip which I'm happy to keep for any emulators that might support them and only unzip when needed to burn for original hardware. I will also be playing with PSX on a PS3, PS2, PSOne, PS Classic and PC Emulation. Thanks!
  12. After hearing about the Nintendo leak, I kind of wonder if Nintendo orchestrated it. I have no proof nor allegation; just motive. It does perhaps put them in an even stronger legal position now. This could prevent a N64 FPGA core or clone console(s) if also considering GC and Wii. The CLAIM alone of stolen code could be used to shut down many projects that want nothing to do with lawsuits. It might be a smart move if they did. It all remains to be seen what happens but I'd scrutinize Nintendo who have had a heavy hand in the past. Only speaking opinion here, but somehow I think Sega would be cooler with it if clone Saturns and Dreamcasts were made. In fact, I'd love a 32x clone right now. These things are royal pains to work on.
  13. I heard there was a Sony PS1 [or 'PSX' however it got that name] FPGA core in the works be it for Mister or otherwise. Anyone know the latest? Can anyone see Analogue making a CD based system? I don't know how much more manufacturing cost a cd drive would be on an Analogue device when a jailbreak would be WAY more convenient (and silent) even to those that have original discs. Unless Kevtris made a system with multiple cores to go up against the Polymega emulated option or Seedi. So a CD based commercial FPGA system seems unlikely to me currently but I could be surprised. The effort would need the added value of more system cores. For PS1, I would only be interested in something playing ISO files or bin/cue in FPGA or ODE (not PSIO). Sony PS1 is where I think MiSTer will SHINE to eventually be a BETTER PS1 than any actual PS1. By default, no discs and hopefully better load times. Then you have HDMI or IO board outputs. I can imagine over time, development will then be for video what MDFourier does for audio. Imagine video settings for original PS1 look vs. PS2/PS3 normal/smoothing filters. For now, I am still experimenting with 'the best' way to play PS1 games on my PS1/2/3 or emulated on the Classic mini via built in or Retroarch be it PS1's accuracy albeit swapping discs or convenience of emulation.
  14. So 2020 is shaping up to be the Sega Saturn year like 2019 was for the Genesis/MegaDrive. The newly announced MODE in my own opinion seems like the best option from menu options, compatibility and everything except price compared to other options. Plus, the MegaSD is the best thing ever so I think the Saturn/Dreamcast solution will be legendary in the same way. Still, I think a healthy discussion of ALL options available to the Sega Saturn (ok, and some Dreamcast talk) would be cool. If you but a Saturn and have ZERO games, the MODE seems like the best thing since sliced bread. IF you have a huge games library, an ODE is not for you perhaps. I'd like to think that the MODE basically makes the Rhea, Phoebe and [official] GDemu] all but null and void. I have a GDemu clone which is fine but probably would prefer a second MODE for dreamcast but need to test and watch reviews. I am sad to say, but Professor Abrasive and the Satiatior needs to be released YESTERDAY if it will have a chance for relevance at all. It IS cool by design in that you don't undo your CD drive, but an ODE option will be my Saturn future. No disrespect to Professor Abrasive, but I thought his work would BE the future of the Sega Saturn. I am surprised that Fenrir and TerraOnion was able to compete so quickly. SO, what of the Fenrir? Availability and feature range will determine its success. Once you get to the $100 price range, I am sure there are plenty that will pay the extra for the quality and feature rich aspects of the MODE.
  15. I never even pre-ordered an Atari VCS nor intend to buy one. ever. I have no horse in the game. Regardless: Dear Andrew Werner, would you kindly add me personally to your list of detractors or 'scumbag' list? That will clearly serve you well. I am not a detractor to your non-existent product- but rather in opposition to your obvious social media tactics. Stop playing a victim or an injured fawn. Be a man. Don't play emotional cards like attempting to use bs like covid in your favor or chastising men for having a family. Maybe stop looking at pictures of their families and make a product.
  16. Keatah, I spelled his name incorrectly. The doctor's name is Dr. Andrew Kaufman and though his channel can be found HERE, perhaps the most interesting presentation is how he took the covid 'test' himself and is sharing his findings. Refreshingly, he shows actual microscope images and applies critical thinking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzRbq9XJ7mA He has a longer discussion with authors Dawn Lester and David Parker discussing similar findings. Dr Annie Bukacek has been speaking about how doctors are being instructed to fill out death certificates. Hopefully that helps in your study on virology. The human body is quite an interesting and amazing thing. These topics are interesting to me to play in the background as I do repair work: Not a good day for retrobrighting, so I may try and get some Commodore 64 boards (longboard and 'c' model) up and running and some spare keyboards. I'll check out the doomboxen project. Haven't heard of it before. I
  17. To answer the original OP, I have put aside all tech projects of recapping, MiSTer, S-Video mods to my atari 800 etc. I have been looking into some anomalies. When have we ever seen the whole world agree on something without any loud alternative narrative? It is both quiet and strange. There are many doctors (Dr. Andrew Kaufmann is just one) that explain viruses in a way I cannot ignore that stands in the face of the media is telling us. I hope others look into this if nothing more than to have a different perspective than what mainstream is offering. There is no harm to look, and either find value or dismiss it. Anyone looking into this?
  18. I tested the MegaSG with a colecovision controller and sometimes it is best to have a genesis controller in player two if you need to bypass the numeric pad screen, but I played games with it fine in many cases. That is odd about the SuperNT being sold out. I see no reason why they would not continue to sell it. Maybe they should just say "out of stock" instead while manufacturing plays catch up.
  19. Shifting the topic for a moment to the NT-Mini. I know, there is no confirmation about the jailbreak and cores. I won't be running carts so I won't open the package until I hear yay or nay. My choice on my investment. If it can ONLY play carts or gets jailbroken JUST for NES/Famicom, I would sell mine brand new, and put towards a pocket, dock and eventually, likely the "8." Or if someone wanted the NEW V2 in exchange for a V1 I would look into it. That said, I find there are almost NO videos dedicated to the wacky extra cores. Mostly I find 2017-2018 reviews where the cores are SMS, GG, and Coleco which I have on my MegaSG. I hope someone will see this and start filling that void on youtube. Also, I'd really like to know about people's actual experiences with using any and all NES controllers for playing the other cores. I imagine the Atari 7800 would play like a dream since there are conversion kits to make a NES pad play on a 7800. What limitations are there? Did Kevtris eventually add NES zapper support for SMS or any other cores? I can't remember which systems had light gun games. 2600 - nes pad good or are you left wanting an Atari/commodore style joystick? SMS/GG games... are the NES pad start and select buttons mapped in any way for the SMS pause button, etc.? Does anyone actually PREFER playing SMS games with a NES pad over a SMS pad? Any unusual NES controllers that work surprisingly well for other systems? Finally, did anyone feel that the Analogue FAQ was a bit ambiguous if not misleading by a 'sin' of omission that the console can't output through digital and analog simultaneously?
  20. I have 6 titles that are MSX ports: Bomberman Special (Taiwan) Cabbage Patch Kids (Taiwan) Circus Charlie (Taiwan) Hyper Sports 2 (Taiwan) Lode Runner II (Taiwan) Magical Tree (Taiwan) ...plus one early version of the official game Dragon Wang called: Jing Wu Men - Fist Of Fury (Taiwan) These titles are not in the Hyperspin hyperlist nor in Smokemonster's everdrive .xml files and he is pretty thorough. I rarely see this titles listed anywhere for an already pretty rare console. History of the titles can be found at SMSPOWER and the latter title on this sub-page. The only thing I find is that MSX games were often pirated to the platform. Does anyone know of other titles not included in the main databases?
  21. Ah, that does make sense. Smoke put them in their own folder instead of under hacks so I was trying to figure out their special uniqueness. Final Fight CD (Japan) [(Rev A) or otherwise] seems to have been omitted in favor of the color restored/arcade hack version
  22. Has the pre-order sold out yet? I have my order in, but am wondering how limited or not this V2 will be.
  23. Thank you!! On a different note, be it by Analogue, Terraonion or 3rd party, has there been any news on an adapter to load the MegaSD from the side expansion port so we can play the 6 games for Sega CD 32X?
  24. If someone is in touch with Smokemonster, please share the following. I may have found a few stragglers that may have been omitted from his Sega Cd list: Sega Classics Arcade Collection 4-in-1 (USA) [the 5-in-1 version is included, so this may be intentional, though Hyperspin included it] @Multi-Disc: Supreme Warrior is available as: Supreme Warrior (USA) (Disc 1) Supreme Warrior (USA) (Disc 2) Supreme Warrior (32X) (USA) (Disc 1) Supreme Warrior (32X) (USA) (Disc 2) Also, to all, please note that you may find that Fahrenheit (Disc 1) (USA) may be found combined in: Fahrenheit (USA) (32X CD).zip
