There's scans of the catalog in question on AA:
The games featured in the catalog are:
Phaser Patrol
Commie Mutants
Fireball
Suicide Mission
Excalibur (Dragonstomper)
From the descriptions of the unreleased games:
Frantic sounds very similar to Fireball, but since Fireball is already shown, this must be a different game.
Jungle Raid sounds nothing like Survival Island
Clone Attack doesn't sound like any released titles
Labyrinth is definitely Escape/Mindmaster
Last Line of Defense sounds like another unique (tank type) game
Wonder why the Cyberpunk guys didn't mention this info in the Stella CDs... (or maybe they did and I just don't remember...)
-
You can buy it at Hozer:http://webpages.charter.net/hozervideo/ata...tari/pesco.html
Ebivision had to change the game a little because of copyright
If the Pesco ROM is available (if not, why?) then it should be fairly simple to hack it back to Pac-Man
-
I heard someone won a copy of the game too, is it anyone on here?
Maybe. I think I'm the winner of the Merlin's Walls contest.

Thanks,
-John K. Harvey
In that case, can you please tell us how you finished the game???
-
I'd rather see the cases being used for projects like this, then tossed in the trash. Besides, there were millions of 2600 systems made

The Cyberpunks FAQ (http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/1698/cyberpunks/faq.html#sec3.3.2) says that Labyrinth was an early name for Dragonstomper, though I would have guessed Escaped From the Mindmaster.
It also mentions Jungle as an early name for Survival Island
-
Survival Island also uses passwords.
I think Vanguard was the first (Atari) cart to have a continue feature. I remember that being very cool at the time...
-
There was a threat not too long ago (which I can't find...) listing early names for some of the Supercharger games. I think there was 1 or 2 names that nobody knew the (release title) equivalent for. Does anyone remember these?

Legally, I don't see how they can patent that. First of all, there's nothing new about that idea. MAME cabinets are no different. I know there's a company (I've since forgotten the website...) that guts old tv sets and cabinets (like the one shown on the new DP message board) and puts in current technology. Secondly, they didn't design the case or the components inside it! I'd really be surprised if their patent pursuit when anywhere.
I'd be curious to see what games (and emulator) they licensed, and how. One they mention is "Starfire" -?? Plus, they also refer to the 2600 as the first video game system.
If this is a hoax, then they didn't do enough research for it

NE: Nope, it doesn't move.....because it's been wounded

-
D'oh! Didn't notice that. Sorry

If I were to make a movie for all the glitches and tricks in ROTLA, it'd be longer than the actual movie

-
Thomas: you noted in the code that if the score reaches 999999 the game stops, but it looks like (from the AVI in the other Frostbite thread) that the game keeps going after it.

-
Todays games may eventually be classics, but there will always be just one 'golden era' of video games.
-
He planned the secret kingdom, but he didn't plan the bugs
I'm sure he was more concerned making sure the actual game wasn't buggy -
So you're saying that once you reach 999,999 the game just stops (and doesn't continue or reset the score to 1), correct?
Chris: I think the first Activision game to display "!!!!!!" was Laser Blast
-
I think Russ Perry Jr spoke with the programmer, and he mentioned that the secret kingdom was intentional
-
The main problem is the game runs way too slow.
-
Don't know if this was mentioned before. Just learned that he passed away last year. He worked on Atari Force mini comics #3 and #5.

"Al Alcorn started Atari with Nolan Bushnell..."
Not quite. Nolan started it with Ted Dabney. Alcorn was employee #1.

I'm not sure what the reasoning was behind it. Probably similar to the reasons listed on that site you posted (in case of interference from the neighboring channel). Aren't the pre-2600 systems (Video Music, Video Pinball, etc,) the same way (either 2 or 3)? What about the 5200 or 7800?
-
Len: That doesn't apply to the VCS - look at the switch on your system. You can only select between 2 and 3

-
Glad you got it working. Now you can give Todd a run for his title

Btw, were you able to recreate any of your latest glitches on the other system?
-
I thought you were talking about Breakout vs Super Breakout (you weren't too clear about comparing the 2600 and 5200 versions of SB). Technically, they both use potentiometers. A hacked (custom paddle) 5200 controller is the way to go with those type of games....or you could just play the computer version with original paddles

Stan, you need to input the system's signal into the COAX jack, using a switchbox or phono->coax adapter. Then make sure the VCR is set to the same channel the system is (2 or 3)- make sure it's in 'VCR' mode and not 'TV' mode (if you can change the channels on the VCR and still see the game screen, it's not set right).
There are a few games I've found that are difficult (or impossible) to tape - SQ Fireworld (skill tests) and Desert Falcon are 2 I can think of right now. I'm not sure why this is- perhaps it has something to do with the actual # of lines the screen is comprised of. Some output more than others (such as RS Basketball), and that may be enough to affect certain VCRs.

I have no idea what they're doing with the boards. If they were smart, they'd sell them cheap or work out a deal with someone like 2600.com who could use them with their new repair service.
Personally, I don't think they're going to be selling very many of these conversion systems, so it's not worth getting that worked up about it. I'd be more concerned with people using existing cart cases for new projects.
