  1. The Frog Pong artwork appeared in the Atari Age mag, V1 N3
  2. Maybe his intention was to have a virtual system that ran VCS-style games, but was much easier to write for than a real system? But everyone I think agrees (including Christian) that it's not an exact VCS emulation - the sounds alone are a dead give-away Wonder if it would be possible to write a program that would allow you to write for the VCS in a different/easier language..
  3. There was Dan/Dani Bunten (who passed away a few years ago)...
  4. Matt H. has been posting in RGVC the past 2 weeks......
  5. You don't need to give him any coins if you enter the Black Market via the Mesa Field route, only if you use the "bribe" method
  6. The controller this guy built is actually a circuit that does the Left/Right movements at top speed.
  7. I also noticed that Desert Falcon seems to have a few minor problems with Z26 (all versions). When you destroy the 1st Sphinx, the game hangs for a second. On subsequent rounds, the screen colors are all wrong (on the 4th level, you are nearly invisible!). If you play past the 1st level, and reset the game, the colors will be black & white. ?
  8. In isssue #50 of the 2600 Connection, someone wrote in who mentioned that he built a custom "switcher" controller for these games. It sounds like a simple enough circuit - does anyone know how to make one? (I emailed the guy, but the email address is no longer valid)

  10. Glad to see the new screen capture support! What new ROMs does this version specifically support? Would it be possible to add a saved game feature, or a built-in "game genie" or cheat function?
  11. Racoon Lad, Great find! I'd like to add your discovery to my site. Can you email me?
  12. Yes, the concept of programming "teams" was used at Atari, and probably a few other companies at that time. A few Atari 2600 games have 3-4 people involved with them.
  13. Video Chess was first advertised in the 1/79 catalog (as "coming soon"). [Nukey Shay] What emulator are you using to speed up the game? I know Z26 doesn't allow it to run any faster than the (normal) maximum of about 60 fps. John Soper is right - the game will allow you to capture the king AND let you continue playing! If you manage to promote a pawn afterwards, it may become the computer's piece (Queen)! There's a few other bugs listed in the manual that appear under specific situations.
  14. >>BTW, even though SW is a Disney license, the story itself is public domain so unless it features imagery that is straight out of the Disney version, then you could probably get away with making carts without Disney breathing down your back. >> Doesn't it say "Disney's Snow White" on the title screen?
  15. The only 2600 game I know of that he did was Basic Math (Fun with Numbers). Did he do any others?
  16. quote: Originally posted by Nateo: I'VE GOT IT!!!! Do a thieses on a multiplayer joystick port! Ya' know, so you can have four player games using joysticks (Gauntlet) and Driving Controllers (Indy 500 with 4 players!) The Ebivision guys mentioned doing this as one of their future projects. Since the keypad controllers have 12 buttons each, wouldn't it simply be a matter of hacking a keypad controller and "reassigning" the buttons in programming?
  17. The CGE guys don't own it. In fact, most of the items in the museum weren't theirs - they belong to a number of owners who were kind enough to allow them to be displayed.
  18. Video Checkers and Maze Craze also have the flashing "think mode", although Maze Craze's is more 'seizure-inducing' than the other two I don't recall any other games having this mode - are there any? Activision's Checkers just blanks out completely, but since there's only 3 levels, it doesn't get into any serious 'deep thought'. Btw, does anyone have a picture/scan of the original box, with that drawing?
  19. Does anyone have the version of Pressure Gauge from Worship the Woodgrain in BIN format?
  20. Mike, I'm very interested in that A/V mod. Can you email me? ([email protected]). I've lost your email address, and I can't get it from your post. Thanks.
  21. Never mind - seems to only be a problem with older versions of Z26
  22. Just noticed that there's a problem running this on Z26. On the river screen, it acts like the fire button is constanly being pressed (pressing the button stops this).
  23. Osbo, The only 2600 volleyball game I know of is RealSports Volleyball. Perhaps you have an import game? I'd be interested to see pics of it when you get it back.
